Hello and thanks for starting this excellent article! However, please consider adding an infobox to improve the article's quality, an appropriate infobox would be Template:Taxobox#Animal_species. If you are unfamiliar with using infoboxes, visit Help:Infobox but it's quite easy, simply copy and paste the infobox shown at the template page and fill the empty spaces. If you need additional help, visit your welcome links or contact me at my talk page. SwisterTwister talk 06:05, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and thanks again for your contributions! When editing, I suggest using the "show preview" option located next to "save page". Thanks! One thing you might consider is having this renamed to "Flax weevil", we usually title articles based on commonality of usage, see WP:FAUNA. Drop me a note if you'd like me to assist with that move. Great work! --j⚛e deckertalk 16:55, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your work on the Geodorcus capito article and in particular for providing such a great image to Wikicommons to illustrate it. I think it's fantastic that you are attempting to fill in the many gaps in NZ beetle articles. Ambrosia10 (talk) 01:04, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A page you started (Geodorcus servandus) has been reviewed!

[edit]

Thanks for creating Geodorcus servandus, Markanderson72!

Wikipedia editor Nick Moyes just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

Nice article (I'd not appreciated there were any flightless members of the Lucanidae). I certainly think this is a great candidate for WP:DYK, should you want to go the extra mile and get it on the Main page of Wikipedia. Note: The Distribution and habitat section has no references, which it definitely needs. I would wikilink Beverley Holloway as, in my view, and person who names a new species to science is notable. Not everyone agrees, but a red-link is a way to encourage someone to look at her and decide if an article is worth creating.

On 2 August 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Geodorcus servandus, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the stag beetle Geodorcus servandus is unable to fly, and is known to occur only on a single mountaintop in New Zealand? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Geodorcus servandus. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Geodorcus servandus), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000.
