Hello @Jamiebuba. I find this decline to be very strange. This draft has issues but notability is clearly established by the subject’s nomination for a Tony Award for Best Conductor and Musical Director. Can you therefore please explain your reasoning? Zingarese talk · contribs (please Reply to icon mention me on reply; thanks!) 23:16, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Zingarese Can you point me to at least one reliable sourcing on the subject that was used on the page? Is it the source for the music credits that you count as reliable or could it be his website, youtube link and unreliable broadway profile link? I hope you understand my reasoning now? The award is infact a notable one as you said, it is sourced to CBS's youtube channel but i believe this article needs better sources to be in mainspace and i hope you can see that with me. Cheers Jamiebuba (talk) 06:00, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi all,
Thanks for your thoughts on my draft page. I'm new to Wikipedia editing so I appreciate the input. I believe I can find more reliable sources and will attempt to do so soon to edit the page. The issue with the In Memoriam is that Fred died after the CBS page of Tony Award "In Memoriam" names was published, but before the actual Tony Awards. They added him last minute, so the video is all I have. I can try to find something better.
Thanks again. Marisab6 (talk) 13:41, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Jamiebuba as I said, his notability is clearly established by his Tony nomination. For sourcing issues, it is always better to decline for improper sourcing/lacking third-party sources (which is what I would have done in this case). Declining a submission for its subject not meeting notability guidelines when it actually does is incorrect in this case, and may discourage the submitter from rectifying the real issues. And we do not want to do that ever! Yes, many of the sources in this submission are unreliable, but the YouTube is OK because it is from a verified official account (see WP:RSPYT). @Marisab6 please read WP:RS, WP:IS, and WP:V and introduce some sources for verifiability. For instance, I have found several passing mentions in the NYT. Zingarese talk · contribs (please Reply to icon mention me on reply; thanks!) 19:28, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've attempted to add more reliable citations! Please let me know if these edits seem to address your concerns. Thanks. Marisab6 (talk) 20:54, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Zingarese:
Thank you! I've attempted to add better citations to each tag. The only one I couldn't find a good citation for outside of Wikipedia was the Flo (TV Series) theme - you can see on the Wiki page for it that he is credited for writing the theme song too. Not sure where else to look for his credit. Marisab6 (talk) 21:45, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I had to remove many sources (IMBD, BroadwayWorld) as unreliable (see their entries at WP:RSP for explanations). Could you replace each "citation needed" tag with a suitable, reliable source? Then this should be good to go. Zingarese talk · contribs (please Reply to icon mention me on reply; thanks!) 16:59, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
