Again vandalism in the demographics

Could you paid atention to the new modification in the Argentinian section, becuase Pablo has gone on vacations. And there has been a rise of changes and adding of irrelevant and misundertanding facts there.

I know we have been building the Argentinian site for like wow three years now. But like always another guy who doesn't bother in read the archive with the previous discussions is changing the section. Dunadan or something like that.

Dunadan we decided included the genetic research (the one you posted is not the only one and other ones contradict this one). Besides we discussed it was made to the entire population (10% of which is not Argentinean-born but immigrants).

You are putting the minority groups that were taken in that research (which was very discussed anyway) into the majority of the population.

Second we (like Americans, brazilians and Canadians) decided not to included the diversed genetic studies because is not relevant, is like said norwegian because they have a 1% of african admixture are not scandinavian!.

Check out the archive of discussions in the Argentinian section, and you'll the other studies too. We just added in the largest article.

As for the article we decided only included the official numbers of the government and the CIA.

As for the research you cited (which is just one of many) with different results, and the ones that are made to white people are the ones that account to have in mind the admixture in white people, which you just seems to included without noticed that the research was made to the inhabitants a great percentage not "Argentines", you're misunderstanding some dates. that was about mtda and y-chromosome not about mixture in dna.

And what the reaserch shows (again there was another research with another very different results) is that 10% have mtda and y-chromosomes form their parent that COULD BE (but not necessary are) compatible with native americans. You can have 80% european descendents and come out with these results, and anyway, the markers taken as native american are presented in a minority of southern europeans (again check out the archive) and are common in Asians (which account for about 1% of the Argentinian inhabitants this days).

And finally because of this and because the phenotipical traits are the most important in the Argentina, the United States etc for race. And they are present in like the census said 95% of the NATIONAL population, those are the numbers important at least in this article.

And again check out the previous discussions in this subject. I mentioned the blog because I thought you might be interested in what someone is saying about you. Instead of checking it out, you first give me a blank look ("I have to deduce that message was destinated to someone else") and then propose some nonsensical cleanup of the article.

Perhaps instead of stonewalling you should check out the blog I mentioned, take a look at the WHO source mentioned there, and just possibly consider changing the information at the article. Why does the entire article need a cleanup when a source for correcting factual information is being shoved right under your nose?

Heroic Valour in Combat Cross

Hello, this Argentine award article is named 'Argentine Nation to the Heroic Valour in Combat Cross'. This seems to read as mixed up English. Is this a true translation of the title of the award? Perhaps it should read 'Heroic Valour in Combat Cross to the Argentine Nation' .. which still seems wrong. Or simply 'Heroic Valour in Combat Cross (Argentina)' or without the country reference since it is likely to be unique just under the award's name. Example: the Polish award - Virtuti Militari. It came to my attention that there is a lot of unrelated crap in Talk:Jorge Valdano. I saw that a year ago you restored it after some deletion. Any particular reason why that stuff has to be there? I understand that generally Talk pages stay intact but I see no point in keeping that garbage that has nothing to do with the article. Hi Mariano, I saw your asking for page deletion on the "Argentish", yes I know that there are non cited expression but I can assure you that there are English speaker most of them learning ones who use those expressions. The more surprisingly fact that I found is that those expressions and words certainly have citations in the BA Herald or others sources, couldn't be in other way. Thank you for your recent edit to my talk page.

If it's all the same to you, I'd prefer to keep that reminder of what can only be described as an injustice out of there, however seldom I look at it.

I was blocked for trying to do what a number of others had attempted and like them, of course, without success; but, how could one possibly?

The material a number of editors tried to extricate entailed controverisal scientific research and was not peer-reviewed - the bare-bones minimal standard ANY encyclopedia uses when including such items. Failure to abide by this basic tenet when referencing scientific studies is what, for instance, allowed universities in the southern United States and in South Africa to publish "findings" proving the inferiority of blacks, as well as institutions both here and in the USSR to publicize "studies" demeaning to one side or the other.

All this, nevertheless, did not stop the individual who put it into the "Argentina" page and several others (after, no doubt, spending hours scouring the internet for it - the study dates from 2004) from imposing this, even going so far as to patronize and condescend any one who objected; once, he even argued over it with a geneticist and (obviously) unable to win the argument, he told him he AGREED...and proceeded to replace the injurious item.

Mariano, by now I think you must know whom it is I'm referring to: "the Dúnadan." That guy.

This same editor, I should tell you, routinely adds embellishing claims on the Mexican page and, despite being meticulous to an extreme, allows grossly overstated (and unsourced) numbers on the same page to stand. No doubt, unflattering facts should be included, if relevant. I don't regret having added mention of: the number of slum households, the percentage lacking running water, educational and health care shortcomings and other facets of Argentine reality that had been previously glossed over; I also repeatedly excised figures claiming "97%" of Argentines are white - an undeniable exaggeration (most sources seem to agree on 85%). Common sense should dictate, though, that one cannot impose claims on others' countries when one isn't willing to accept realities at home.

I was asked to discuss changes with him on the "talk" page (and I did, through the edit summary, just as he does); but with someone who turns to "devil's advocate" tactics and sock puppets on the first disagreement?

You know, I may be young; but I've seen my share of ulterior motives and, having spent nearly half my life in California, know how hostile SOME folks from Mexico can be around Argentines or the subject of Argentina. As you may know, they tend to be touchy on the subject of race and often harbor misgivings for Argentines, seemingly under the impression that Argentines are arrogant (if they only knew how deprecating many Argentines are with their own country). Other Mexicans are beautiful people, on the other hand (and how!); since this individual chooses to bear chips on his shoulder, though, you guys might want to ask him to stop.

I intend to leave the subject of the "scientfic finding" alone; I'll leave it to someone else. Life's too short and, besides, Dúnny must have his own struggles.

Actually, I did read Wikipedia:Notability and from what I read it says that notability is proven through "coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject,” and that “the best way to address this concern is to reference published, third-party sources about the subject.” I’m not sure how articles from CWNET are more reliable than ones from Forbes, Reuters Moneyline or theSacramento Business Journal, which I cited, but thanks for the source. Why do you, Selecciones de la Vida, constantly seek to get people to work against me? Mariano, comparing the section with past versions, your advice was taken and the section of Peru was greatly shortened to its current version. You can check the differences with the history section of the article. As I previously notified to you, the length of the Peruvian section is not much, and the section certainly has no need for information to be taken out. If other sections in the article are short (such as the Chilean section), then that simply means they don't hold as much factual information as the Peruvian section. Nonetheless, if this commentary bothers you in any way, I apologize for coming into your talk page to discuss this with you, Mariano.--MarshalN20 (talk) 18:31, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Requesting neutral assistance from other editors should not be taken personally. The Peruvian section contains examples of information such as tennis, the detailed naming history of Lima Cricket Club, and claims that Peru's sports foundation is older than Argentina's, Chile's, and Uruguay's that do not add towards the claim and can easily be accessed through a provided wikilink. First, you did not send me a message about the edits you were planning on making to the article. Hence you did not receive a reply from me. Second, just like Selecciones de la Vida, you do not seem to understand that the "chalaca" does not revolve around Jorge Barraza. The concept of the word and its history revolves around the city of Callao. Jorge Barraza is simply what could be called a reliable spokesperson that agrees (or validates under his opinion) the claim of Callao. Third, and what shocked me the most, what do you mean that Panama is not from North America? Current squad / navbox

Please can you try to help me to work out a way of combining the current squad and the navbox on Association football pages, I have asked a couple of experienced editors directly, at Wikiproject football and at the Village Pump but apart from a few positive comments and an unsuccessful attempt to help I got nowhere.

Using Arsenal de Sarandí as an example the proposal is that since the navbox and current squad display almost exactly the same information, using almost the same code:

• {{Fs player|no=1|nat=Argentina|name=[[Mario Cuenca]]|pos=GK}} (currentsquad)
• {{Football squad2 player|no=1|name=[[Mario Cuenca|Cuenca]]}} (navbox)

We could amend Template:Football squad or make an alternative, using switch functions and code like:

• {{Fs ??????|no=1|nat=Argentina|name=[[Mario Cuenca|Cuenca]]|pos=GK}}

So that it displays something similar to the current squad when transcribed like {{Arsenal de Sarandí squad|teamarticle=yes}} along with the [v] [d] [e] functions to allow the transcluded squad to be easily modified from the team article and a "last updated" header. There are several reasons this would be beneficial I will outline some of them:

1. Keeping similar information in the same place and avoiding repetition makes sense for obvious reasons.
2. Casual editors often edit one or the other, rarely both, meaning that the 2 ways of displaying the squads often contain contradictory information, combining the functions would make this kind of contradiction impossible.
3. Editors like myself who spend/waste our time updating player and team articles during the transfer window currently have to make at least 5 edits per player transfer (1. Update player article 2. Remove player from former team article 3. Remove player from former team navbox 4. Place player into new team article 5. Place player into new team navbox) combining the current squad and the navbox would reduce this to three edits, reducing transfer window workload by 40%, (which is a lot of edits considering in just one league (Primera División Argentina) the clubs amassed nearly 300 transfers in the most recent bi-annual transfer frenzy).
4. Introducing a "last updated" parameter would make it easier to search out and update outdated squad information.
