- The way that citing sources is supposed to work: if you used source A, which in turn derives from source B, you acknowledge both. Wikipedia's been kind of slack about that, but that is normal practice. So in this case, where the Spanish article didn't acknowledge its sources, it should be something like "This article draws heavily on [Spanish article], which appears to derive from [Colegio article]." -- Jmabel | Talk 16:55, September 9, 2005 (UTC)

Ally
[edit]I always considered your take the allied stance. now you've gone and taken another stance. It's not so. I'm not that guy. I wanted to work with you. When you complained I went back and changed what I had written, to more closely follow a sort of consensus. Oh well.Jonah Ayers 14:44, 22 September 2005 (UTC)
Our friend
[edit]You may notice that the suspected sockpuppet or impersonator of Ayers, the anon IP, had his user page locked last night. He was also taking credit for Ayers edits.
I think the guy is a bit disturbed. It's hard to know how to deal with this... some say do not engage him. I'm not sure. If you have any ideas, let me know. paul klenk talk 11:53, 26 September 2005 (UTC)
There is little doubt in my mind that the IP user is the same as Ayers. If it were really an impostor, why hasn't Ayer's been up in arms about the fact that he has editied his own talk page heavily and gone around impersonating him? The one strange thing is that if you look up IP address it says it's in Atlanta and Ayers claims to live in New York. Something is going on, sort of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde kind of thing. Strange. I think not engaging him is better, but then its hard not to when one is being attacked. Marcuse 13:39, 26 September 2005 (UTC)
- I sent you an email, but I'd like to publicly apologize for accusing you of being a sockpuppet of a user I was in conflict with.
- I'm sorry that I accused you of being the other guy. It really did get confusing there, and after weeks of that relentless stuff (including someone stealing my birth name for his username), I really didn't know which end was up.
- You and I may not always agree, now or in the future, but I appreciate the edits and efforts you've contributed.
- Yes, when you next visit NYC, you will get free noodles. :) -Sojambi Pinola 15:16, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the tips...
[edit]I'm still new to wikipedia (I'm more of a reader than a contributor). The Peter Betz story is actually a story I wrote for one of my journalism classes so all the information has been from first-hand research.
Wow...thank you for your additions to the article. They are pretty good. Zach (Smack Back) 02:46, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
Thanks! Marcuse 02:56, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
- Overall, you really helped on the article. You probably know a lot about the flag, or that you done some pretty good research. For your efforts, here is your (maybe first out of many) Barnstar. Congrats, you desereved it. Zach (Smack Back) 22:01, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
My talk page
[edit]on other editors pages when someone writes something abusive or catty, it is removed. I removed it. I don't see what business it is of yours. i created that space to be a friendly spar and helpful spot. The posts I eradicated were not. So there you go. I thank you for not being abusive.Mary Hope
Peter Betz
[edit]Yeah I realized that his real name would still show up if someone looked through the history. I was actually urged to change the name at the request of the murderer himself, who has since been released from prison and has somehow found the article on Wikipedia. I will talk to an admin about deleting previous edits. Thank you.

[edit]my 1st edit of today is your last + thorri's picture move; no need to make thorri do it, just revert to that. i'd do it myself, but i'm already at 4 rv's for that page today. Derex 23:30, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
- Done, but remember that simply editing an article is not a revert. Also, I don't know how this apply to reverting vandalism. Marcuse 02:11, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

Consistency
[edit]If you're going to remove only one external link from each of the locations you vandalized, I'll be replacing them. You'll need to remove all external links to schools if you're going to remove one. Personally, I think people are curious to know the legacy of each of these great master teachers. And they should see their contemporary manifestation in current training. Sgactorny 21:39, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Sgactorny is Jason Bennett. Please check out discussion of his Wikipedia stunts on http://bbs.backstage.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=22883&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1 Thanks. Tree trimer
Thanks for the Note
[edit]Thank you for the note. Your recommendation sounds like a good course of action. Also, would you check the profiles of famous acting teachers. Apparently Bennett is adding this website (jbactors.com) to their entries as advertsing. For example, he is listed on Lee Strasberg and apparently others whom he has no connection to. It is so sad when Wikipedia is misused in this way.
I am very new to Wikipedia. Could you tell me how to leave that name and time/date-stamp at the end of messages? Thanks.
Did you get a chance...
[edit]Hello, did you get a chance to post a vote for deletion of the Jason Bennett page? I looked for it but did not find it. Perhaps my inexperience on Wiki keeps me from finding it. Thank you for the helpful beginners info you put on my discussion. When I have some time (after midterms) I will study it in depth. You have been very kind. Tree Trimer 14:23, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
Sign my Vote
[edit]By sign my vote, you mean add the 4 tildes (~ ~ ~ ~), correct? Ummm, thanks for holding my hand. Tree Trimer 17:14, 24 February 2006 (UTC) Wait, wait, wait - I think I figured it out. Check out the deletion page and see if I did it correctly. Thanks again, Tree Trimer 17:39, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
- That looks good. Marcuse 18:00, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
- It has been many days into this process. I was just wondering how many days the entry stays up for the vote and what the next steps are. Thanks for all of your info. I am looking forward to learning what happens next. Tree Trimer 18:34, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks again. You have offered a friendly start to my Wikipedia adventure. Tree Trimer 23:11, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for the heads up and for all of your help. I like it here at Wikipedia and might hang a while. Tree Trimer 05:42, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
- BTW, the two of you may be interested an able to help improve the Nina Foch article. The subject has apparently asked that our version be replaced with her own "official" biography, but I've replied that that really isn't appropriate. Nonetheless, our article can certainly be made better. Given the past involvement with another acting teacher, I thought this might be of interest. If not, don't worry. Cheers, -Will Beback 22:04, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
- The official bio can be found in the article history. I tried to find it online with Google but it didn't bring up anything. -Will Beback 07:05, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
The Jason Bennett advertisers are back!
[edit]Is there anything we can do about it? The new name this promoter is using is Ucprof. I am pretty new to Wikipedia and am not sure what to do about this. Thank you. Tree Trimer 17:58, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
Request
[edit]What I'm adding is info about the subject written about (method acting and archetype work), and a link to read an article about it. It isn't spam. Please allow readers to learn about how method acting has evolved in the last 20 years. Thanks so much. Ucprof 20:22, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for your watchful eyes
[edit]I was away for a few days but your watchful eyes caught the return of the Jason Bennett spam-o-rama. Thank you! Tree Trimer 15:26, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
Non-free use disputed for Image:BiffRose.jpg
[edit]This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:BiffRose.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:26, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:MartinLuisGuzman.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:MartinLuisGuzman.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 21:58, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Mariano Azuela author.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Mariano Azuela author.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 07:02, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
