[edit]Hello. Your recent edit to Comparison of data modeling tools appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. Help me
[edit]Hello Marco.wobben. You used the {{Help me}} template, but you wanted an answer from a specific editor. If you still need help, please add your question to that editor's talk page instead. Alternatively, you can ask your question at the Teahouse, the help desk, or join Wikipedia's Live Help IRC channel to get real-time assistance. |
Thanks for pointing that out. I've had this page undeleted and I am in the process of rewriting it. The goal is to have CaseTalk which is data modeling tool similar to Norma, and facilitates ER/Studio and PowerDesigner, to be listed and documented on wikipedia. Since it is the sole tool that supports the method FCO-IM, it might be useful to be listed. Can anyone advice in regard to the style of the content and my potential COI?
Can you please describe your COI here? What kind of conflict of interest do you have? To reply click here and add your message at the end. Thanks, --Gryllida (talk) 05:33, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
There are two tools available that support the modeling method FCO-IM which is still used in educational institutes. A freeware version of earlier prototypes which is not actively maintained since the beginning of this century. And a tool called CaseTalk which is offered for free for educational purposes. I'm the maintainer of this product now since 2001. When I'm playing honest and nice, the Draft:CaseTalk gets removed the next day. So I'm not sure how to proceed in this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.87.123.53 (talk) 08:00, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
- I think you meant to talk to either Gryllida or MrOllie. I dream of horses (t) (c) Remember to {{ping}} me after replying off my talk page 09:09, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
Hi @Gryllida:, @MrOllie: & @I dream of horses:, I'm responsible for trying to get a page called CaseTalk up. I've started the draft, mentioned my COI, en before I could react, the page got removed already. The relevance is that there are two tools available that support the modeling method FCO-IM which is used in educational institutes. (1) A freeware version of earlier prototypes which is not actively maintained since the beginning of this century. (2) A tool called CaseTalk which is offered for free for educational purposes. The COI is that I'm the maintainer of this product now since 2001. I've tried to align the text similar to other data modeling tools on the market. So I'm not sure how to proceed in getting this listed without people tagging and removing it as advertorial. I'm trying not to be that. Can you help or give advice? Regards. Marco.wobben (talk) 19:25, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
- Okay. thank you for creating the page. I would suggest these three things:
-
- Please visit User:Marco.wobben, and add {{UserboxCOI|1=Draft:CaseTalk}}, click Publish changes.
- Are you paid to edit? Please let me know.
- For the article itself, please collect a few best sources and list their URLs or names here. After I view these sources and see that they follow the principles of WP:42, I can advise you how to proceed to create the draft so that it is more likely to be kept and not deleted. Here is a source search tip:
- Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Thanks, Gryllida (talk) 20:24, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
Hi @Gryllida:, thanks for the pointers. Some of these sources were mentioned on the original page in proper ref-formats. I'll quickly iterate the full list. In regard to your question, I can say "I don't get paid for this editing".

Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Marco.wobben, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Regarding the sources list which you added above (thank you!)
[edit]Hi Marco.wobben Thank you for listing these sources above in another section. Next to each of them could you please list what useful information about CaseTalk do these sources include? Include a sentence or two with a short description of information which the source provides. This could be useful as the first step for creating the skeleton of the article draft. --Gryllida (talk) 06:56, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
