A tag has been placed on Dick Brooks (performer), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of Dick Brooks (performer) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Crusio (talk) 18:44, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
Dick Brooks (performer)
[edit]Hi, Just for the record, I did not delete this page (I am not an admin), but I tagged it for deletion and subsequently an admin agreed. The reason was that not the lack of notability for this person, but the fact that the article more resembled a promotional ad than an encyclopedic entrance. In a minute I'll put a "welcome" template on your talk page. I would recommend that you read the links therein to several Wikipedia policies. Once you have read those, you may be better prepared in creating an article on Brooks. The fact that it was (speedily) deleted is no prejudice against recreation, as long as the recreation is a better article. One thing you could do is to prepare the article on a subpage of this talkpage, have it checked by some editor for any possible issues, and only then place it in WP proper. This will avoid it getting tagged for deletion again. Hope this deletion will not discourage you from contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! --Crusio (talk) 15:01, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Future American Magical Entertainers
[edit]A tag has been placed on Future American Magical Entertainers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. KurtRaschke (talk) 16:28, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:BrotherTheodoreAd2.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:BrotherTheodoreAd2.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 03:01, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Magic (illusion). Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" is strongly discouraged. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Kbthompson (talk) 16:42, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
The article Psychic Theater has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Appears to fail wp:org. Gnews turned up paltry and cursory coverage.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. RayTalk 23:54, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
Niobe
[edit]Hi, this is an account I use for anonymous contributors. The edits you made in the article Niobe based on a blog, the way you placed your paragraph and the pictures show a lack of respect for the work of previous contributors. That wikipedia is willing to receive such input is not my problem but Jimbo Wales's and perhaps some other people's but for the page in question I intent to shift them once again to the discussion page. [edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Harry Houdini, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page David Jacobson (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). [edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Houdini Museum, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Newyorkadam (talk) 03:58, 18 August 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
