Speedy deletion nomination of Dog in Burley
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that Dog in Burley, a page that you created, has been tagged for deletion. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It appears to be a test page. (See section G2 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do, and take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
- It is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. (See section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. [edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Dog in Burley, a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Dog in Burley
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia.
- It is unambiguous vandalism or an obvious hoax. (See section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please do not introduce inappropriate pages to Wikipedia; doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.
- It appears to be about something made up, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.)
Melcous (talk) 00:41, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
- Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to remove speedy deletion notices from pages you created yourself, as you did at Dog in Burley, you may be blocked from editing. Melcous (talk) 00:41, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
You said the topic of my article was something I made up and not a real thing, but it is a real thing and if you had read my whole article before making the decision to nominate it for deletio. You would have seen the photos of all the dogs and the Burley that was designed for dogs, because people were using the ones designed for kids for dogs so much. Madimyers (talk) 02:20, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for your message on my talk page, however please be more careful when editing other people's pages as you removed my header and archives. Also, please always "sign" your posts on talk pages.
- I did read the whole article you started (not it is not "your article" - see WP:OWN), and I also read all the comments you left on the talk page arguing with people and trying to justify why you had created it. When I nominated it for speedy deletion it was indeed something you had made up, you said it was about "an adorable dog". I see you have now edited the article to try to make it more broadly about the method of carrying dogs. That is fine, but as you will see from the AfD discussion, it is still not notable or verifiable.
- More importantly, please try to take the time to understand the messages people are leaving you and the issues they refer to. Continuing to revert other editors work and removing notices that specifically tell you not to remove them is the kind of behaviour that could quickly lead to you being blocked from editing wikipedia. It would be much better for everyone if you slow down and read up on what is required for an article to be in the encyclopaedia. Melcous (talk) 07:05, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
Sorry about that didn't mean to, I thought I hit the undo bottom so it would save like that. I was trying to see what those things were. My bad and I know it's not mine I want others to edit it. I would greatly appreciate it if you guys would edit the problem before just trying to delete it. I suggest you read WP:BEFORE, especially sections B and C. What does signing my talk post do? I felt like the article on signing your post was tailored more towards people that already understand it.Madimyers (talk) 16:38, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
- What parts of WP:BEFORE sections B and C do you think haven't been done. I looked at the article and confirmed that there were no speedy deletion criterion that it could be deleted under. I looked at the article history and confirmed that PROD would not be applicable because I believed you would contest it. I searched for sources that discuss taking your dog for a ride in a Burley and could not find any. Nothing on the talk page showed that my concerns had been dealt with. I hadn't looked at what links here before this, but even now the only article this links to is the one you added less than half an hour ago. There are no other languages that I see have an article about this. I don't think the article can be fixed through normal editing as I do not believe it is a notable subject. I don't see any reason to allow more time when there is nothing notable about this subject. There was no vandalism or poor editing of a previously ok article. The issues had been raised with you and you continued on. I don't think there is any place to merge this into. I think that answers all the lines of B & C. This article does not belong in Wikipedia. This belongs on someone's personal website. -- GB fan 17:15, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
- Well as you will see, I just submitted it seconds after you sent this, I recently found some very reliable sources about dogs in burleys. Additionally how can I change the title I thought of a better one. One that is now more fitting to the article. Madimyers (talk) 18:06, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
- I now have three legitimate sources, one of them is the Washington Post. Please let me know what changes need to be made and give me an examples of which lines or statements are the problem. Or take the initiative to correct it yourself, as one of you have and I thank you for that. I'm willing to make corrections.Madimyers (talk) 18:45, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
Nomination of Dog in Burley for deletion
[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Dog in Burley is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dog in Burley until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Fyddlestix (talk) 01:41, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
Okay, can I move it to the bottom tho or something? Madimyers (talk) 02:16, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
- No you can't move it, it needs to stay there until the discussion is complete. Melcous (talk) 07:08, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
Dog bike trailers
[edit]Madi, you may have better luck generalizing the article to cover dog bike trailers in general, and not just Burley. You might be able to find more sources and bring the article up to the level where it passes the Wikipedia General Notability Guideline. You also may want to consider developing the article in Wikipedia:Drafts space, or a sandbox in your user space, where you would have more time to develop it. I'm sure someone would move it there for you if you'd like (and if can't figure it out yourself). It's usually not a good idea to start a brand new article in Wikipedia main space, because, as you have seen, it will most certainly be nominated for deletion before it can be developed sufficiently. Most importantly, please read and understand Wikipedia:Copyrights. Most of the images you uploaded were copyright violations and were deleted. This is a very serious issue – never do that again as you could be blocked for it. And while you are developing articles, never copy and paste from the sources – you must rephrase the concepts in your own words. Good luck & happy editing. Mojoworker (talk) 18:53, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you this is the kind if response I was looking for! I will get back to you if I need help moving it!:)Madimyers (talk) 19:12, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
- Okay I cannot figure it out can someone please move it into my Sandbox or Drafts?Madimyers (talk) 19:12, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
- I've moved it into userspace for you - it can now be found at User:Madimyers/Dog in Burley Mike1901 (talk) 19:35, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
