Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Lou Renwick, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits to the page Cragside did not conform to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may have been removed. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or in other media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.

Hi Lou and welcome again. Your edit to Cragside contains some interesting material, but it also has some problems. I've tried to set the issues out below:
- Wikipedia:Verifiability - Wikipedia's an encyclopedia so it's very important that material added to an article can be Verified by readers. We achieve this by citing...
- Wikipedia:Reliable sources - have a look at this, Help:Referencing for beginners, which tells you how to do it. Your entry for Cragside didn't have any sources at all, so it can't be verified.
- Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lead section - the Lead section of an article, the opening, summarises the article's content. When you're adding material to an existing article, you need to think carefully where it best fits. You can't just bang it into the lead.
- Wikipedia:Featured articles - Cragside's a Featured Article (FA). This means it's gone through a number of reviews and is among the best Wikipedia's produced. Only about 0.1% of our articles are Featured. You can tell them by the little bronze star in the top right corner. Of course, editors can work on FAs, but you need to take particular care to make sure you're not weakening the article rather than strengthening it. Adding unsourced material in the wrong place doesn't help.
- Your content had some interesting material, and it may well be a great addition to the article - with sources and in the right place. Lastly, looking at your other edits, I think you may need to be aware of Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Wikipedia's not an adverting medium and shouldn't be used as such.
- Happy to advise on any of this. Just drop me a line, here or on my Talkpage. All the best. KJP1 (talk) 14:12, 28 January 2019 (UTC)

Cragend
[edit]Hi - I noticed that you'd left a message at the Tearoom asking for help with creating pages for these places. Are the buildings listed by any chance? If they are listed, there will likely be published records about them, which would be reliable and would demonstrate notability - that would be a good place to start building an article about them, and I'd be happy to help you do it. If they're not listed, are they perhaps mentioned in any published source, like a guidebook to the area? We need reliable, published sources that we can use to build an article around before we can do anything I'm afraid.
If you reply, please ping me (see WP:PING for instructions) - my watchlist is pretty massive, and I don't always notice updates to pages on it unless I get a ping. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 13:11, 3 April 2019 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Lou Renwick. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Cragend Farm, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 19:38, 24 April 2019 (UTC)

Cragend images
[edit]It would be useful if you could take digital photographs of Cragend Silo and upload them to Wikimedia commons [1]. There are no good ones I could find at present.SovalValtos (talk) 01:25, 8 May 2019 (UTC)
Hi Lou, I haven't heard back from you about the images, but I've worked up your draft for Draft:Cragend Silo and resubmitted it. If you can get around to uploading some images, we can add them to the article, and if you are able to uncover any more sources to add detail to the article let me know. Cheers!
