A tag has been placed on Roger Gardner requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. --ҚЯĀŽΨÇÉV13 21:56, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thnak you for adding the article John Gardner (Texas Ranger). However there aree some seerious problems with it, and unless they can be fixed this will probably be deleted.

  • Our verifibility policy requires that articels in wikippedia be verifiable, that is that any user can check the facts. But teh aonly support you have listed is what appears to be a password-protected geanology page.
  • We want facts stated in wikipedi articel to be supported by citaiosn to reliable sources. This normally means published sources, not self-published or self-witten sources.
  • The article currently syas "it is said" and "it was often alleged" and the like several times. In wikipedia articels we don't use that sort of language unless we can say who said or alleged soemthing, and back it up with a source.
  • The only source now cited is a user page on familytreemaker.genealogy.com. but it appaeers that no one else can access this apge, whaich makes it of no value as a source. we need reliabel sources that otehrs can check.

If you can add specific sources to the article it would help greatly. Id you aren't sure how to add sources, jsut leave a note on the talk page giving the details of the source and what statements it supports, and someone will help get it into the article.

If sources are not added, this article may soon be deleted. DES (talk) 08:03, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Gardner Gang has been proposed for deletion. The proposed-deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. NickCT (talk) 18:10, 26 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not replace pages with blank content, as you did with this edit to John Gardner (Texas Ranger), as this is confusing to readers. The page's content has been restored for now. If there is a problem with the page, it should be edited or reverted to a previous version if possible; if you think the page should be removed entirely, see further information. Thank you. Puffin Lets talk! 16:45, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The recent edit you made to Awful Gardner has been reverted, as it removed all content from the page without explanation. Please do not do this, as it is considered vandalism; use the sandbox for testing. If you think the page should be deleted, see here for what to do. Thank you. Puffin Lets talk! 16:48, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove all content from pages without explanation, as you did with this edit to Roy Gardner (bank robber). If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. Puffin Lets talk! 16:49, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is the last warning you will receive regarding your disruptive edits; the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Lige Gardner, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. The reverted edit can be found here. Thank you. (talk) 16:53, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you created this article a while ago. You say that Welsh sources identify Gardner as the killer of Richard, but you don't say what those sources are. Could you help by providing a reference, or tell us where you got the information from, if you can? Thanks. Paul B (talk) 17:47, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Update: I have nominated the article for deletion. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/William Gardner (knight). Paul B (talk) 16:51, 29 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Roger Gardner - your talk page questions

[edit]

The only previous articles about him were posted by you in December 2009: they had no more information than this one, and were deleted for the same reason.

He was added to the list article on 18 Jan 2009 in this edit by user Claddaugh (talk · contribs), who only ever made that single edit, and removed in February 2010 when the list was cleaned up to include only people with articles.

So Wikipedia has never had any reliable information about him. If you can't find any, I'm afraid he can't have an article, because of Wikipedia's WP:Verifiability policy: "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source" and the WP:Notability requirement for references that show "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." "It is said that" and "allegedly" aren't enough for an encyclopedia article.

Hello. As part of the Wikipedia:Article Rescue Squadron, I have taken a look at the article about David Gardner (fighter) and recognized that this was a notable sportsman. Of course the note by another colleague was valid as you had failed to provide independent external sources about his FFC title and other fight records from reliable published sources. Now i have done what is necessary, made improvements to the article, added the required references about his record and added reference about him carrying world title for two years and more. I also thank you for introducing this valuable article to Wikipedia. Of course it still needs additional independent references, but it can at least stay for now as a valid and quite valuable Wikipedia article. werldwayd (talk) 22:11, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am still working on the article. Leave it alone. Jack Gardner is not a living person, it clearly states he died in 1978 from a brain tumor.
