Kewell amendment
[edit]Not sure why you reinserted the section I deleted on the Harry Kewell page. Kewell was signed by Galatasaray on 5/7 so the fact that it was denied by the club on 3/7 (for 2 days) really is insignificant. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zimbalist (talk • contribs) 15:44, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Kewell
[edit]Dude, I'm from Australia ... I know that the transfer to Galatasaray is a controversial one for Leeds fans but the section I deleted was the following statement:
"On 3 July 2008, Turkish champions Galatasaray claimed to have signed Kewell to a three-year deal.[12][11] There was at that time no official confirmation of that fact, with the move being denied by the players agent."
I didn't touch anything to do with the actual transfer or the controversy around it. This statement is irrelevant now that he has, in fact, been signed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zimbalist (talk • contribs) 00:46, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
State of Origin
[edit]Yep, it's an absolute farce. You can check it out here. I've kinda given up hope. But the status quo is seriously wrong.--Jeff79 (talk) 09:56, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
Daine Laurie
[edit]I've no idea why you keep attaching this ref to "the Daine train" as there is no mention of it anywhere in the article that I can see and I've read it three times and did a word search to make sure! A "nickname" is a commonly used name - The player's most common nickname. Extensive lists of nicknames can be discussed in the article itself and the author should use their judgement to select the most appropriate entry for this parameter.(.doc) How is fan banner that you saw on tv equate to a common nickname? See WP:OR. Ref it or delete it. •Florrie•leave a note• 17:29, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- Londo06 said: I can appreciate your interpretation and point of view and as such I will hold fire were someone else to remove it. Not living in easy commute of ANZ stadium I can't speak for the crowd and as such can't say whether the nickame is in common usage.
- Why does someone else have to remove it? You put in unreferenced material, you can easily remove it. On the other hand, it is recommended that unreferenced material is supposed to be removed aggressively so I'll do it myself. And I don't know what living anywhere near ANZ has to do with verifiable and reliable sources - I live on the opposite side of the country but I can recognise original research when I see it. •Florrie•leave a note• 05:51, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
