Net worth

[edit]

Please stop replacing Forbes sources with Bloomberg ones. Forbes is preferred to Bloomberg for "net worth", as it is not paywalled, and is longer established in this field. Also, adding {{increase}} or {{decrease}} is not helpful for "networth", as no timeframe is given for comparison (unlike, say, company financial results). Edwardx (talk) 13:06, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Edwardx,

I agree on your this statement "adding Increase or Decrease is not helpful for "networth", as no timeframe is given for comparison". I will not add Increase & Decrease next time. I use both Bloomberg & Forbes when editing Wikipedia. For your information, I have a Bloomberg subscription account so I have unlimited access to all Bloomberg products. If you say Bloomberg required fee to access which is true, but Bloomberg does give free 10 views for user. By the way, net worth is impossible to be calculated. They are just estimated. So, Both Bloomberg & Forbes are not accurate. They both have their own calculation systems. So, I don't agree on "Please stop replacing Forbes sources with Bloomberg ones.". Have a great day to you. LohShiSan2004 (talk) 10:02, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Please refrain from adding exact dates to net worth figures. It's a needless waste of time when those will keep constantly changing. A better practice is to just go by month or year. Those won't become outdated nearly as soon. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 03:02, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Bernard Arnault edits

[edit]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Bernard Arnault, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. We simply do not list multiple figures for peoples' net worths, and you need consensus if you want to go against that. Please stop reinstating your edits without achieving consensus on the talk page. Cpotisch (talk) 21:16, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Looking more at your edit history, please also stop making similar edits to other billionaires' articles. Do not change net worth sources from Forbes to Bloomberg without getting consensus. Cpotisch (talk) 23:47, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I replaced Forbes source with Bloomberg because Forbes estimated His(Bernard Arnault) entire family fortune, NOT his personal net worth. Please check online about the definition of "net worth" & you will understand. Thank you. LohShiSan2004 (talk) 05:03, 24 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I already understand and read the guidlines & policies for Wikipedia. I did not think I had done any mistake when editing. Would you give me some example about my mistake? Thank you. Finally, If u review the history of my edit. The forbes source was added by someone else, not me. LohShiSan2004 (talk) 05:07, 24 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing

[edit]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at David Thomson, 3rd Baron Thomson of Fleet. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. In this edit, you added a grammatically incorrect sentence saying, without citation, that Thomson "tied with his siblings". In this edit, you added a space after the dollar sign of his net worth, which is not a proper format. I have had to spend a substantial amount of time cleaning up typos and poor English. Please seek assistance on each article's talk page before making such edits. Thank you. Cpotisch (talk) 18:43, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Forbes estimated combination of all his ENTIRE family members fortune. Net worth is the individual's liquid assets, not the liquid assets of entire family members. For example, Forbes estimated Benard Arnault & Family valued at US$180 Billion, while Bloomberg estimated Benard Arnault personal net worth at 150 Billion. This is as same to David Thompson, his personal wealth is only valued at 7.78 Billion, not 44 Billion dollars, that's their entire family fortune. Finally, My edits did not appear as disruptive or any hate speech. Please take note.Thank you. LohShiSan2004 (talk) 04:50, 24 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, btw I already read the policies, I don't think I rebelled against any of the policies. If you found any distruptive edits edited by me, please let me know and send me an example. Thanks. LohShiSan2004 (talk) 04:54, 24 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Minor edits

[edit]

I notice that you've been marking a lot of edits as minor, such as ones regarding people's net worth. Please note that per Help:Minor edits, a minor edit is something like typographical corrections, corrections of minor formatting errors, and reversion of obvious vandalism. A minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. While changing one number to another may be "minor" in terms of the size of the edit, it's not minor in the way we use that term on Wikipedia. Thanks. :) -- Tamzin (she/they) | o toki tawa mi. 12:07, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion on removing the net worth parameter from the infobox

[edit]

There is a discussion on removing the net worth parameter from the infobox. You indicate that you enjoy monitoring the net worth so I thought I would notify you. Please comment if you have an opinion.

see Template talk:Infobox person#Deprecating the net worth parameter?

Thanks! Patapsco913 (talk) 23:03, 26 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oh hi there, sorry for replying late. I'm busy throughout the week, but I think the discussion has ended. However, I believe they won't deprecate the net worth parameter. Anyway, thanks for notified me! Have a great day to you.

January 2022

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Meters. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Steve Ballmer, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Your cited source does not list the amount you claim, and it not "as of" January. Request to Update Financials

[edit]

Hi LohShiSan2004. My name is Karen and I work for F&G, an annuities and life insurance company. In compliance with WP:COI, I disclosed my connection to the company and requested some changes at Talk:F&G. The edits are focused on telling readers the company is public and replacing un-cited, out-dated financial details with more recent ones in the infobox. I saw that you had an interest in updating company financials and was hoping you would take a look at the edits I proposed at Talk:F&G. Kep728 (talk) 19:25, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. I am happy to take a look at the edits that you have proposed. Loh Shi San 罗熙善 (talk) 10:32, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much for updating the infobox! I had been poking a few editors looking for someone willing to update it. I followed up on the Talk page requesting a rewrite of the first couple sentences to address a factual error, add that the company is public, and fix a redundancy. Any chance you can look at that as well? Kep728 (talk) 15:16, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed updates to Sykes Enterprises

[edit]

Hi. My name is Daniel and I work for Foundever, which acquired Sykes Enterprises a while back. I disclosed a COI and requested the Sykes Enterprises page be updated with past-tense language and a more prominent mention of being acquired to reflect that it is no longer in operation at Talk:Sykes Enterprises but got no response. I saw that you helped someone else with a similar issue and was hoping you might take a look. The discussion string at Talk:Sykes Enterprises is called "Updating the lead".
