Hello hello hello!! This is Ella. Ellass22 (talk) 05:34, 10 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

[edit]

Welcome Linyaf (again!) to both Wikipedia and to COM482! I saw that you picked Orange chicken. Although the article is a stub, you can see that the article is somewhat advanced compared to many other stubs. As a result, so you might need to dig a bit deeper to make significant improvement to the article. I see you've already made some good progress on that, of course!

Look at the talk page of the article (Talk:Orange chicken) for related WikiProjects that will have links to excellent articles on similar topics which should point you at templates and examples of how to improve the article. I'm looking forward to seeing watching the article develop over the next week. —mako 14:57, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Peer Review

[edit]

Hello, Linya. Ellass22 (talk) 07:31, 22 October 2020 (UTC) I like the fact that you added nutrition facts about the dish. I think one of the way that you can dig more about this dish is by writing the differences of how the dish is done the China and other parts of the world.[reply]

Feedback on your draft

[edit]

Greetings Linyaf! I've done a pass on User:Linyaf/Orange chicken. I had a few pieces of feedback:

  • I'm worried about the section on nutritional information from Panda Express and I think I would suggest that you remove this. This is an article about orange chicken in general and not about Panda Express's dish. Other version will have different information.
  • The citation you added to PRNewsWire is a little complicated. That's just a place for companies to publish their own press releases so it's not really a reliable source. I think the statement is fine but I would reword so that it's not a quote. Just explain how much of it PE sells in your own words and then include the reference.
  • I would consider merging the variation section into the origins since the two sections mostly about the same thing.
  • I would look for secondary sources that aren't about Panda Express. The existing citations/references in the article are good examples of newspaper articles and similar.

In any case, why don't you do a final pass to clean up some of this stuff and then move your changes over into the live version. If you'd prefer that I take another look before you do that, I'd be happy to do so. It's up to you. Thanks for all your work on this! —mako 19:38, 4 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
