Welcome!

[edit]

Greetings PaulSereeyothin! I saw your messages over on User talk:Benjamin Mako Hill. I'm happy for you to do either Digimon Rumble Arena or Rascal the Raccoon although I agree that the latter is less developed and might be easier in that regard. In either case, you should look for resources on the assocaited wiki projects linked to from the talk page of the article.

Regardless of what you do, make sure that the the class dashboard is up to date with the right article!

Good luck! I'm look forward to seeing what you develop! —mako 20:31, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback on your draft

[edit]

Greetings PaulSereeyothin! I've taken a look at User:PaulSereeyothin/Rascal the Raccoon and the changes that you've made.

In general, it seems that you've added some nice facts about the way that the show and its relationship to real-life raccoons in Japan. I think you're off to a good start.

I had several suggestions that I think you should probably try to keep in mind as you're editing your article:

  • Watch issues related to WP:TONE and WP:NPOV. Although most of the text is good, phrases like "the masked bandit" (even if it's a quote) seem like you might be taking a side.
  • I would rework some of the new material so it's clear why the text is about Rascal the Raccoon. Some of it really feels like it's just facts about raccoons in Japan in general. This kind of context is useful but, as you know, there is already an article about raccoons and their distribution in Japan.
  • The paragraph that you've added to the WP:LEDE feels a little overworked. You shouldn't be defining other terms (like invasive species in the lede of this article. Any of this text that is necessary should be moved into the sub-section of this article and the lede should summarize this article.

Basically, this article needs to be able about the anime. It's great to point out that the anime had this effect. This is really amazing material, actually. Please keep it, just edit it so that the anime takes front-stage and that the other material is clearly not about raccoons in general but about the anime. Did all those damaged temples get damaged because of the show?! That's amazing!

Why don't you take a bit of time to rework the article with these points, and everything else we learned, in mind. If you're feeling confident, you can go ahead and start moving things over to make you article live. If you want me to take one more look before you do that, feel free to ping me here or on Discord and I'll take another quick pass. —mako 03:06, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
