Fair use rationale for Image:Logo balid.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Logo balid.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. AfD nomination of M S Khan

[edit]

An editor has nominated M S Khan, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/M S Khan and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 17:59, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove an AfD tag before the AfD is closed. Thanks. --Crusio (talk) 14:27, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image in public domain

[edit]

Image:Mskhan1.jpg will be in public domain by default if it is more than 60 years old, i.e. a work before 1948 (which it seems to be). Could you please confirm that. It would then eliminate any doubt that might be there for that image being in public domain. Arman (Talk) 02:23, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Happy editing

[edit]

Dear Mr.Anwarul Islam,
Hope, you are fine. I'm lending you a quick link WP:Notability. If you have time, You can check this page for your better understanding regarding on article issue. There, you'll find almost all the notability criteria about article on different field.

You could also check List of Bangladesh-related topics for more Bangladesh-related articles on various aspects. And feel free to participate in Wikipedia:WikiProject Bangladesh. Thank you--NAHID 20:16, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Same person?

[edit]

Are you the same person as User:Anwarpulak? Aditya(talkcontribs) 05:17, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Shah Sultan Balkhi Mahisawar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. скоморохъ ѧ 04:25, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have responded to your comment on my talkpage. Regards, скоморохъ ѧ 13:53, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

re: Image deletion

[edit]

I am checking for you now, but in the mean time, "verbal permission" needs to be clarified and proven for Image:Mskhan1.jpg this image. I'm sure you can understand that anyone could claim they had verbal permission. It's not that I'm saying you don't have it, we must just be careful. SGGH speak! 10:16, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The reason that it was deleted (and why it may be again) is because you do not state how you own the copyright to that image. The source you scanned it from is the owner of the copyright to that image, unless you happen to be M S Khan yourself, I would image. SGGH speak! 10:18, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I will keep an eye out, in the mean time, if you read WP:COPYRIGHT and other image-related help pages, you should hopefully have a better understanding of the tags to use to avoid deletion in the future. SGGH speak! 12:01, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mr.Anwarul Islam, thanks for uploading this image. Please upload more free images of Bangladesh. It would be better if upload them at commons. So that we can use them in other language's wikipedia. Thank you--NAHID 11:17, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of images

[edit]

Please do not remove images from the Muhammad article. Consensus is that the images will remain in the article. For more information on why see Talk:Muhammad/FAQ. If you continue to do so you will be blocked. James086Talk | Email 10:49, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not censored; that is a policy of Wikipedia. Wikipedia also takes a neutral point of view which means that Wikipedia will not adjust its articles to favour certain groups. I am an administrator as are many other people who watch that article and we will ensure that the images remain because it has been decided that they will be included. Muhammad

[edit]

Please note that Wikipedia isn't keeping pictures of Muhammad to offend; rather, it's because Wikipedia is non-censored. As a general agreement, people have agreed not to remove depictions of Muhammad from the site. You can, of course, discuss the issue in the Muhammad Talk page. Remember that there's no offense intended, but that the images are kept in the name of research. Casull (talk) 10:52, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

big tags

[edit]

Please do not add "big" html tags. Those are not needed. If you see Bangla fonts too small, that's a problem with the font you have. (Using the font "Likhon" or solaimanlipi will solve this). In my case, I see the fonts in perfect size without any special font sizing html tag. Thanks. --Ragib (talk) 06:49, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Independence Day Award

[edit]

Hi there. I note that you have added the number of awards in each year. This is certainly very valuable information. Could you please confirm the source of this information? Does the same source have the names of all awardees, too? By the way, it would be more encyclopedic to use full sentences like: "This year there were 10 awardees. Notable awardees include:..." rather than saying "Awarded 10". I'll gradually reword these sentences, OK? Take care and keep up the good work in Wikipedia. Arman (Talk) 02:20, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Selection of Speedy Deletion of Araz Ali Matubbar

[edit]

Dear Administrator you have selected the page Araz Ali Matubbar, without knowing him. Just after the submission of that article, you have deleted. He was a renowned personality. Actually I am new in wikipedia. Please Keep the page. --Librarianpmolib (talk) 12:39, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • First of, i am NOT an administrator. Perhaps i will run an WP:RFA some day to become one, but at this time, im a new page patrol. This means that i will tag articles which do not seem to meet The criteria for speedy deletion so that an admin will have a look. When i originally tagged the page, it did not meet WP:BIO and general WP:Notable guidelines.
However, i see you expanded the page, and it is perfectly in order now as far as i am concerned. There would also be no problem whatsoever if an administrator stopped by, as they simply check if the notice is A: Valid, and B: Still applies. In this case they would just have removed the notice, since there is no problem anymore. Excirial (Talk,Contribs) 15:11, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

একতারা

[edit]

I just now requested a speedy deletion of the article you created called একতারা. I presume you accidentally posted this to the English version of Wikipedia, when you were intending to post it to the version of Wikipedia in the appropriate language. In case you want to create it in the proper language version of Wikipedia but didn't save a copy, and the article gets deleted before you get a chance to do so, the article is:

Re: Award

[edit]

Don't worry. We all have different and often strong opinion of things. The idea is not to have differing views, but to have a point of convergence. Often that convergence happens at the cost of several editors feeling disgruntled. My problem with Adult-child sex was very much traumatic (not probably as disheartening as your deliberations around the Muhammad images, though). But, the trick is always simple - relax. By the way, congratulations on the great job you did for the Award. Aditya(talkcontribs) 08:33, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Librarianpmolib. Thanks for your continued good work on this article. I notice that you are trying to add both the Bengali and English names for all recepients. This seems a bit unnecessary to me. We really don't usually use the Bengali script in lists like this. Perhaps your effort will be much better spent if you could add these names to the Bengail version of the article: here . Regards, Arman (Talk) 09:17, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have proposed a format for Bengali literature article on its talk page (Talk:Bengali_literature#Proposed_format). Could you please come and express your views and opinions or update this format? Cheers. -- Niaz(Talk • Contribs) 14:16, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for your feedback. Since it is a vast and one of the most important fields related to Bangladesh, I strongly believe that this article should be in a better condition, thus I have started working on it. As library is a part of your life, I think, you can help me most. I am also a library lover and formed my small library when I was in class eight in 1996. Over the last 12 years it became a large home-library covering three walls of my room with a 3 rack, 24 feet book shelf. Apart from this one, I have a large E-book collection for English literature mainly. I would love to meet you someday when I'll be back in Bangladesh and would also love to invite you in my library. Can I get your email address so that we can communicate in a faster way? You may catch me on Gmail and Google talk through my gmail id given on my userpage. Hope to hear from you soon! Cheers. -- Niaz(Talk • Contribs) 11:17, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

bd71 images

[edit]

Do you really have permission to release those photos under GFDL? Or, have they released the images under that license? --Ragib (talk) 20:16, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The main problem is, we don't have rights to use those images. It is better NOT to have an image if we don't have a free one. And uploading them to commons would cause further problems ... now the content is claimed to be free, while in reality it is not. But a lot of people will be misled into thinking they can use the material. Freedom to use information/content makes Wikipedia what it is ... and adding non-free content here will harm that freedom. I hope I explained the problem :) . Thanks. --Ragib (talk) 17:25, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Barnstar of National Merit
Hi Librarianpmolib, in recognition of your excellent work on Independence Day Award and lists of recipients of awards for Bangladesh liberation war, I would like to award you this Barnstar of National Merit. Arman (Talk) 01:15, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You are welcome and thanks for signing with your real name. Now I, too, know the shane-nojul of your user name :) Take care and keep up the good work. Arman (Talk) 10:49, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
User:Niaz recently changed his username and he is a very helpful person. You may ask him how he did it. Arman (Talk) 04:40, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Changing username

[edit]

Bhaia, changing username is very simple. You have to submit a request mentioning the username that you are intending to take with a short reason. Just make sure that new username is still untaken. A step by step procedure goes underneath:

  1. Make sure that new username is still free/untaken. Click on this link -> Special:ListUsers. Type your new username and press GO. If it already exists, it will appear in the list.
  2. Visit this link -> Wikipedia:Changing_username. Submit your request with the new username and a short reason using this template: {{subst:Renameuser|CURRENT|NEW|3=Reason for requested renaming.}} ~~~~
  3. A Bureaucrat will come and review your case. He may ask you few questions (though very rare). Just reply them and it may take maximum 7-10 days to get your name changed. And the best part is, your current edit statistics, count, history - everything will remain same with the new username. In fact, wherever you edited, those names will be replaced with your new username.
  • Note that if you want to take an existing username, then procedure is different and chance is relatively low but still possible!

Let me know if you face any kind of difficulties. Regards, -- Niaz(Talk • Contribs) 16:19, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's cool Bhaia. You are most welcome and I would love to visit your office and library when I will get back to Bangladesh. Regards, -- Niaz(Talk • Contribs) 19:54, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You can Help!

[edit]

Anwar Bhai. I'm not sure whether you have noticed that the articles Rajshahi University and Kazi Nazrul Islam are currently going throgh Featured Article Review process. This means - we need to quickly fix the problems with these two articles, otherwise they will be demoted from featured article status. The biggest challange is to find good references for the information in the articles against which there is a [citation needed] tag. Myself, Aditya and Ragib bhai are trying our best to fix these problems already. Since you have easy access to a wealth of published materials in Bangladesh, you can play a very helpful role by identifying the sources. Especially I request you to take a look at the article on Kazi Nazrul Islam. If you find any book (may be one of the few books already listed in the reference list of the article), and can locate the page number where they are confirming information currently tagged as citation needed, you can either add the reference yourself or just drop a note on my talk page. Your contribution may save the article from a degradation. Arman (Talk) 08:44, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Anwar bhai. Thanks for your contributions. The University politics related page doesn't speak specifically about Rajshahi University, so I didn't add it. But nice work on Kazi Nazrul Islam. Take care. Arman (Talk) 05:33, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Anwar bhai, there is absolutely no need to ask for my permission, if you think a change will improve the article just go ahead and do it. However since this is already a "featured article", if you want to add several new sentences or a new paragraph or you want to add a new section, it may be a good idea to post the new section on the talk page first so that others can comment on it. Arman (Talk) 09:51, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, writing here as you are making fixes on Najrul's page. Citation for the explanation on "Barangana" can be given as an english translation of the poem, I believe. Here is a link from nazrul.org, use it if you find it appropriate: http://www.nazrul.org/nazrul_works/s-kamal/skamal_prostitute.htm. Thanks. GDibyendu (talk) 15:29, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I understand the issue now. Directly this page cannot be accessed. Though, that is the url, when I searched. In that case, citations from www.nazrul.org cannot be used. I'll check whether alternative citations can be found. GDibyendu (talk) 11:47, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Done with this particular citation. GDibyendu (talk) 18:39, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Would you take a look at Muhammad Hamidullah Khan. It would need some attention. Arman and I are bit pressed against time. Will definitely lend a hand when I can. For now, take a look at least. Aditya(talkcontribs) 06:54, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Anwarul Islam - as you are a key contributor to this article, I would like to like to inform you of the changes I've made. Please don't take offense at the removal of data. My reasoning is this - speaking in context of the overall article, why risk removal of FA status. Its a subject on which there doesn't seem to be as many sources available. As a solution, I don't see why we can't just remove the non-essential sentences/facts without due citations - none of them seem critical or vital to the article. It won't diminish, as it doesn't seem people here can find any better literature. And is it worth risking the status of the overall article over those non-essential sentences? I don't think so. To be sure, I've left those alone which I felt were of some importance. Regards, Vishnava talk 12:45, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks - my sentiments exactly. Vishnava talk 06:01, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks dude - excellent work and in the nick of time I guess. Vishnava talk 16:53, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Issue with Nazrul Institute

[edit]

Dear Anwar bhai, you may have seen on Nazrul Islam FAR that the reliability of Nazrul Institute is being questioned. I understand the "Nazrul:An Evaluation" book is basically a collection of essays on Nazrul from a variety of sources. Does the book say where the essays were published for the first time? If we could use the original sources reference instead of showing everything as Nazrul Institute publication - that will significantly reduce the weight of Nazrul Institute in the article and help us defend the article. Would you be able to help us on this? Arman (Talk) 04:37, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I have noticed that you linked a few youtube videos in the extlink section of Cox's Bazaar, Kuakata and Sundarbans. Unfortunately, there's a a guideline for linking youtube videos, and it says we can't link copyvio material, like we can't link promotional material. I took the liberty of removing the links. I hope you don't mind. Aditya(talkcontribs) 17:11, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please, do not put external links in the see also section, like you did in the Sundarbans articles. That violates policies and guidelines twice over. Aditya(talkcontribs) 15:56, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The list looks mighty impressive. With a little improvement you could have a featured list there. I have made a few suggestions on the talk page, and I believe, you're the best person to address those. Also, there is large gaps in the time line when there are no PMs showing, just presidents. Can we have a continuous timeline there? Aditya(talkcontribs) 16:30, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Anwarul Islam! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 139 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Thanks for uploading File:Bids1.JPG, which you've sourced to (logo). I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:19, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Pmo office.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 22:41, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Wazed-1.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. DMacks (talk) 07:22, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Library Association of Bangladesh requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Languages of Bangladesh, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bangla. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
