[edit]Hello Lexprofi. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Lexprofi. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Lexprofi|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. You seem to be here primarily to add links and content regarding Steidl publishing company. Please disclose if you have a conflict of interest WP:COI with Steidl. Netherzone (talk) 21:23, 1 October 2023 (UTC)
- I'm also interested in seeing a response to this. Looking forward to your reply. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 16:21, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hello DoubleGrazing,
- thanks for your message. The impression is wrong - i have no financial interests or advances in writing the article about kunsthaus göttingen. I was involved in installing this institution, what means that I´m well informed and sharing these informations about a new important arthouse here, which is presenting international artists and receiving publicum from all over the world. I guess this is of interest for the wikipedia community not just in germany. In the german Wikipedia-Version all sources were recognized without any problems. Is it possible, that the fact, that the sources are in german is the problem?
- Looking forward your answer. Lexprofi (talk) 15:54, 9 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for responding. There are two separate things here:
- Referencing – this is the reason why I declined your draft. There are whole paragraphs entirely without citations. Meanwhile, there are sources listed at the end which aren't actually used in citations. And there are (at least in the 'KuQua - Göttingen's Art Quarter' section) numbers inside square brackets, which look a bit like, but aren't, inline citations. For these reasons I find it very difficult to match sources to the information they support, and to gauge how much of this is unsupported. (The fact that the sources are in German is not a problem; with my limited German and help from the likes of Google Translate I get by.)
- COI – Netherzone asked about your relationship with Steidl. I'm interested in your relationship with Kunsthaus Göttingen. The two are, of course, related. Your edit history, not just here on the English-language Wikipedia but on other language versions as well, and on Commons, is heavily dominated by one or both subjects. Therefore it doesn't seem unreasonable to ask if you are affiliated with them somehow, either personally or professionally, regardless of whether you have a financial interest or not?
- Best, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 16:13, 9 November 2023 (UTC)

[edit] As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Lexprofi, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Lexprofi|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia.
Thanks for the ping, DoubleGrazing. Lexiprofi, many of the photographs that you have uploaded to Commons are credited with own work/and or Steidl (publishing house). This is evidence that you are in fact employed by Steidl as either a photographer, or as an employee or PR agent or the like, and therefore you are engaging in Undisclosed Paid Editing WP:UPE. This type of Conflict of Interest WP:COI is taken very seriously by the encyclopedia is not permitted. Please explain how it is that most of your edits are to promote Steidl publications or projects and what your relationship is to Steidl or to the Kunsthaus mentioned above. Netherzone (talk) 16:48, 9 November 2023 (UTC)
Fifty-five mentions of Steidl books and at least 3 images were added to the Jim Dine article alone. This is spamming the encyclopedia and product placement. I will be removing this advertising from Wikipedia, we are not a forum for free advertising of commercial products. Please answer the questions above truthfully.
