If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Muir Fest 2017 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.), but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ‡ Єl Cid of ᐺalencia ᐐT₳LKᐬ 14:56, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Leviavery

Thank you for creating Motot.

About your latest edit

[edit]

Hello. About your latest edit on the article States of South Sudan, is it official that those more than 20 states have been abolished to return back to the 10 states since the nation's independence in 2011? If so, what about the counties & payams & bomas associated within those 'then-newly created states' from 2015 and later from 2017? jlog3000 (talk) 00:41, 16 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Right now everything is sort of confused. Kiir just removed all the governors of the 32 states to return to the 10, but I think it is too early to make a lot of changes. Leviavery (talk) 02:43, 16 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No kidding. Like shouldn't they wait until the next general elections? Then in that case, the 32 states plus the almost 200 counties & hundreds of payams & bomas would be meaningless. jlog3000 (talk) 12:47, 16 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Need some COVID-19 state map help

[edit]

I posted over on your Commons page about this - the File:COVID-19 Cases in Virginia by counties.svg/Virginia map and the File:COVID-19 In West Virginia County Map.svg/West Virginia map haven't been updated since March 27th... If you could update them that would be awesome. Thanks, Shearonink (talk) 02:22, 6 April 2020 (UTC) Sure, I'll try to update them later today. I might have to change the Virginia map to either county density like the Tennessee map or to just a solid "counties with COVID-19" because I can't find an easy source of deaths by county like it currently requires. Leviavery (talk) 14:53, 6 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Virginia does not report deaths by county (HIPAA concerns, blah-blah) - they only report deaths by Health District. I have been able to tease out some details via reports in reliable sources but the listing in the Virginia County/City Table is necessarily incomplete. Shearonink (talk) 16:21, 6 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for doing this - I also posted about this over on the COVID-19 WikiProject and at the Technical Village Pump. I'll update the Village Pump thread. THANK YOU. Shearonink (talk) 16:23, 6 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

From there to you

[edit]
Thanks
From the Library of Congress file about this photo pf a former moonshiner from West Virginia:

John Bowman no longer makes moonshine, but he assembled an old family still in order to talk with John Flynn, Lyntha Eiler, and I about the history of moonshining on Coal River. John Bowman learned from his brother, "Duck", how to make moonshine in high school, when his father was injured in the mines. As an alternative to entering the mines, making moonshine became a way for Bowman to stay in high school while contributing to the support of the household. Among his best customers were the school bus driver, the high school principal, and a state trooper or two.

Cheers and thank you. Shearonink (talk) 18:17, 6 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Kuol Deim Kuol.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Kuol Deim Kuol.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 01:27, 1 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Kuol Deim Kuol.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Kuol Deim Kuol.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 02:47, 1 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The Original Barnstar
Super many thanks and appreciations for this amazing map!! Where did you get the information about the division locations from? Buckshot06 (talk) 03:17, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
From a CTSAMVM report: https://ctsamvm.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Outcomes-of-CTSAMVM-Technical-Committee-12-13-August-2020-Supporting-Documents.pdf. The coordinates listed for Division 10 in Ayod actually go to Bor, but since Ayod is a major town I figured that it was the right location. Leviavery (talk) 18:01, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Super many thanks!! Anything you have the chance to do on the SPLA/SSPDF, and IO as well would of course be greatly welcome!! We only have two divisional articles. Buckshot06 (talk) 21:57, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting a bit of help

[edit]

Hello, I've noticed that you've been recently working on a template on the conflict of Ethiopia. I'd like to ask you for a favor, that being the creation of a template map for Mozambique. Seeing how the war is quickly developing, I'd like to work on a map to further put info on the insurgency. Thank you! BlookyNapsta (talk) 07:48, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@BlookyNapsta: Here's the module and the template. I don't know a lot about the conflict, so I probably won't make any further edits to the map. --Leviavery (talk) 19:10, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I'd try to edit your wonderful maps but I know I would suck at it so....HELP?

[edit]

There is a WP article whose infobox - that you've edited in the past - could really do with some help. I don't understand how to fix it but it looks like the last time it was updated was in... March of 2021? Please, would you, could you please update the Tennessee maps that reside within the Template:infobox pandemic at the COVID-19 pandemic in Tennessee article? I just updated some of the stats to June 2022 stats (hadn't been updated since February 2021) but those county-by-county COVID maps are beyond me. Thanks in advance for anything you can do, greatly appreciated - Shearonink (talk) 02:55, 10 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Appalachia map

Hi, I notice that your map of Appalachia here: Appalachia#/media/File:Counties included in Appalachia map.svg has the city of Pittsburgh spelled incorrectly, without the H at the end. Is it easy to correct? Gohome190 (talk) 18:34, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
