Central Bontok Language moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Central Bontok Language, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. scope_creepTalk 19:27, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Mirrors

[edit]

Information icon Thanks for contributing to the article Indonesia–Philippines relations. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable and attributed to reliable sources. You have recently used citations which copied, or mirrored, material from Wikipedia. This leads to a circular reference and is not acceptable. Most mirrors are clearly labeled as such, but some are in violation of our license and do not provide the correct attribution. Please help by adding alternate sources to the article you edited! If you need any help or clarification, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. Thank you. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your user subpage at User:Leahnn Rey/sandbox may not meet Wikipedia's user page guideline. If you believe that your user page does not violate our guideline, please leave a note on this page. Alternatively, you may add {{Db-u1}} to the top of the page in question and an administrator will delete it, or you can simply edit the page so that it meets Wikipedia's user page guideline. Please see WP:FAKEARTICLE, thanks! HenryTemplo (talk) 17:29, 26 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Leahnn Rey The concerns raised above relates to this feedback I left for you at the Teahouse earlier today. It would certainly be helpful to understand from you whether or not this is an attempt to draft a serious article, or if its simply a WP:HOAX. Many thanks, Nick Moyes (talk) 21:47, 26 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Nick Moyes How on earth did you view my sandbox? Anyways, The 'hoax' is just for fun. Sometimes i get extremely bored so i make the 'hoax' thing. But i don't actually post it to Wikipedia. Instead, if i make a real article, i will copy the source and store them in a .txt file. and when i post the real article then i would copy the source and paste it. Thanks for your help. I swear to god i will not post this. I hatd vandalism honestly. Leahnn Rey (talk) 00:14, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
All users contributions are visible to everyone (including all previous versions of every page. You have made innumerable edits to your sandbox, so I took a look to help answer your Teahouse question about using templates that nobody else could see. As an administrator, I am able to view deleted contributions and pages, too.
That draft is not acceptable, I’m afraid, and should be deleted ASAP. If you want to do things for fun, do them on another website, but not here. In its present form it will simply serve to mislead people, who will invest time and effort like I had to in order to work out what you are up the to, and then question the veracity of all your other new articles and edits.
By all means, retain a single demonstration paragraph to remind yourself what a properly linked and referenced block of formatted sentences should look like, but not something that uncannily resembles a well-formed WP:HOAX with fake citations. It is not directly relevant to the purposes of Wikipedia and was done, as you say, simply to stop you from getting “bored”. You also need a very clear sentence at the top of any such paragraph to explain that it is dummy text, and that none of it is true. Thanks, Nick Moyes (talk) 05:00, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have made the warning on the top of the page. Thank you, But does this mean i have to delete the entire sandbox? I'd been working on it for days and invested most of my time in it. Leahnn Rey (talk) 05:04, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, but it's too lifelike to be acceptable. Were it clearly humorous I might have been ok with it. It's simply too detailed and lifelike, and we can't have thousands of users creating such confusing draft pages in this way. I see no purpose to it, other than pure 'fun' for you, and in no way helping you to learn to create proper content. I appreciate your barnstar, and I've certainly tried to raise my concerns as diplomatically and politely as I can. Thanks. Nick Moyes (talk) 09:05, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Nick Moyes I have added a notice on the top of the page to indicate that it is a fake article. Regards, Leahnn Rey (talk) 10:00, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Leahnn Rey It has been just under a day, but the template and its doc are still there [1] and [2] Are you going to delete them? Adding @Nick Moyes; tell me if I'm being too pushy. 71.228.112.175 (talk) 04:40, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@71.228.112.175 Heyo just a lurker here, the template was not made by Leahnn Rey, it was created in 2008 by User:Mack-the-random. It was the user's sandbox which was speedy deleted. Apologies if I've stepped in where I shouldn't. Regards Paulpat99 (talk) 04:52, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@71.228.112.175 What are you on about? Leahnn Rey (talk) 04:42, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Leahnn Rey Ignore the IP's question. They assumed (incorrectly) that you had created Template:Fake link, which you hadn't. BTW: pings and notifications don't work with IP users. You either have to rely on them checking your page, or you need to reply directly on theirs. Sorry you lost your sandbox - but I did advise you to remove the content asap. Best, Nick Moyes (talk) 10:02, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Nick Moyes, @Paulpat99 Thanks, and sorry for not noticing who created the template. 71.228.112.175 (talk) 05:37, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Leahnn Rey/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a recently created redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hi Leahnn Rey. Thank you for your work on Steven James Edwards. Another editor, Ldm1954, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

I am sorry for your loss. However, the bar for bios in Wikipedia is quite high. You need to do more than just cute his orbit, the page needs to demonstrate notability.

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Ldm1954}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Steven James Edwards moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Steven James Edwards. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and you need more to prove notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Ldm1954 (talk) 11:15, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
