note
[edit]Just wanted to drop a quick note: I've been doing some looking, and I agree that your concerns are very valid. An edit summary such as this immediately on the heels of a 50/50 siteban discussion are certainly concerning. Site bans don't come easy on wiki, and rightfully so, but it does happen. Patience and diffs coupled with clear concise reasoning of long-term and continued poor behavior are needed. You are always welcome on my talk page - even if you disagree with me. And if you feel you're seeing something bad - the admin boards are available. Yes, there are a few poor admins around, but for the most part they are open to evidence, and willing to protect you quality editors. Never let yourself feel bullied, there are plenty of good folks here. Good admins aren't going to block established editors on a whim, but they will protect the project and good people. Best, — Ched : ? 01:11, 13 February 2016 (UTC)
- Excellent points, Ched, and I appreciate you taking the time to leave the note. I really don't have any history editing on the same articles as him so can't really speak to some of the polarizing opinions others have; my first and only interaction was with the "guerilla deletion" of an article I mentioned in the thread at which point I started combing through his edit history and found it was a common modus operandi. But I think you're correct in that those who do have ongoing problematic interactions need to present a somewhat more solidified case (and, it seems, approach the matter with clean hands, which I don't think was happening). Gendarmerie of Haiti
[edit]Hello LavaBaron: The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Gendarmerie of Haiti has been completed.
One point. In this sentence: "The invasion followed the violation of the French embassy in Port-au-Prince by a mob that seized Haitian president Vilbrun Guillaume Sam, who had earlier fled to the legation owing to popular unrest, and "mutilated his body in the street." - "embassy" and "legation" can be two different entities or are you using legation as a synonym for embassy? This might be worth clarifying.
You will notice that I archived one the article’s citations (#4) and I suggest that you archive the rest of the urls as time allows. This ensures that the article's references are available "forever" and that it doesn’t develop “dead links” over time. The site I use is https://archive.org/web/. Simply copy the url in your citation and paste it in the box on the archive.org site and click save. It creates a copy of the original page and provides you with a new url to add to your original citation. If you look at the url I've archived you'll see the syntax. You add the new url to the end of the original citation like this: |archiveurl= http etc|archivedate=13 February 2015}}. Not all websites allow archiving - CBS TV news and the NY Times are two I've come across, so there's not much you can do about that unless there is an alternate citation you could use.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

[edit]Don't say anything about me at ANI if you have nothing constructive to say. You are acting like a troll and a jerk. Legacypac (talk) 05:06, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
- I'm afraid I don't permit name calling on my Talk page, Legacypac. You are prohibited from posting here until May 1, 2016. I also note you chose to delete my comment in an ANI thread in which you were the subject [1]. Editing or deleting other editors comments, particularly at ANI, has typically been grounds for an immediate block. I'm busy article writing right now so will not be pursuing it, but other editors might, considering the unparalleled severity of that specific type of disruption. - No problem. It was actually caught by the nominator North America who posted it on the project discussion page. It's already on the Main Page and I see no reason to enforce the rule. No biggie. Jolly Ω Janner 07:33, 3 March 2016 (UTC)

You don't seem to have responded to your nomination here. Or maybe you have, as most of the issues I brought up there got answered ... but not all. I understand I have to put a final X there to reject, mainly because the proposed hook just isn't in the article as such. But maybe you can either put the hook in the article, cited, or make a better hook? --GRuban (talk) 21:17, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
