Edit problems

[edit]

Lauren, before you wade in too far: there are a number of problems with your edits. 1) We have Wikipedia:Conflict of interest guidelines that you'd best check out: "Do not edit Wikipedia to promote your own interests, or those of other individuals or of organizations, including employers, unless you are certain that the interests of Wikipedia remain paramount". Multiple edits adding Vogue links are iffy for that reason. 2) The style of your edits is distinctly promotional. "You can watch A-listers, including Kate Bosworth, talk about why they love Rodarte - and see the Mulleavys explain the secret of their success" is fine in a fashion magazine, but doesn't belong in an encyclopedia. I've posted a note at the Wikipedia conflict of interest noticeboard WP:COIN, where you might want to join the discussion. Gordonofcartoon (talk) 02:18, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Alexander Wang (designer) do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. TeapotgeorgeTalk 12:17, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Rodarte. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" is strongly discouraged. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. TeapotgeorgeTalk 12:23, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you insert a spam link, as you did to Michael Jackson, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing their websites from appearing on Wikipedia. You have also added spamlinks to other articles. Please stop or you WILL be blocked from editing. ukexpat (talk) 14:03, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. One or more of the external links you added in this edit to the page Christian Dior SA do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. You may wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Marc Jacobs. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.
