because of ChangeMakers'ON article

Dear Largoplazo, This is the first article we are creating. Possibly I saved it before I wrote the entire article. This is not a promotion or advertising. This is the program which is globally accessible to everyone who wants to solve global issues and to make our world better place to live. A lot of experts are working pro buono to help young innovators to foster social innovations. This is not a project, nobody is financing it. This is the personal initiative of me (Simona Simulyte founder and serial social entrepreneur). I was successful to bring experienced experts and businesses together to give their time and effort and to help society. And this was done in the extremely short term. Already great result is achieved and impact measured. There are a lot of external links to press.

Could you advise us how to proceed for to have an ability to appear in Wikipedia?

Warm wishes, Simona — Preceding unsigned comment added by ChangeMakersON (talkcontribs) 16:34, 29 July 2017 (UTC)

Hello! Wikipedia has guidelines for both content and inclusion. It is also not for writing about yourself or your own projects: see the conflict of interest guidelines.
The article may not have been complete, but what was already there was worded to put Wikipedia in the position of endorsing the encouragement of do-gooding and speaking on behalf of the organization by channeling its goals (which are subjective and unverifiable, since Wikipedia content relates neutral point-of-view information that can be supported by reference to reliable sources.
Also, note that the organization would have to meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines, which rely largely on significant coverage in independent reliable sources. Failure to meet these guidelines is no slight against the organization merits. It's just that inclusion is based on notability, not our own judgment as to the value of the topic. Please give me a way to create an article for a person

Tang Tiffany (talk) 18:50, 4 August 2017 (UTC) please

The article has been deleted, but I see that you said on its talk page that he is "well known according to source". What source? According to the article, he's a computer developer; he either has a bachelor's degree or dropped out of university (which is it?); he's studying for his master's degree; and he's "CEO and Founder" of what appears to be his own company and website, which isn't even live yet. He certainly isn't well known for any of that.
See the Welcome message that's been left on your talk page for information about contributing to Wikipedia. Note that articles have to be verifiable and have to be about notable topics. Largoplazo (talk) 19:11, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

This is Sushant from Sushn345wiki. I'm sorry for whatever I have done. I was under the impression that the User:EVula and User:The Raven's Apprentice was a public platform where anyone could create a User box. I'm extremely sorry and I'll immediately consider deleting all those userboxes, and create the user boxes in my User Page. I'm extremely sorry. Sushn345wiki (talk) 15:03, 9 August 2017 (UTC)

Inquiry - linking English and Korean Article

Thank you for your feedback, Would you please let me know how to create the link between English and Korean Article? example: Same subject - Korean and English Article. Goodtiming8871 (talk) 00:05, 15 August 2017 (UTC)

Is there already an article here in English? Largoplazo (talk) 00:08, 15 August 2017 (UTC)

I don't think there is any article with the same subject. - "Peace treaty between North Korea and USA" - I was unable to find the information on WIKIPEDIA- link between English and Korean Article. Please let me know the information if possible. Goodtiming8871 (talk) 00:14, 15 August 2017 (UTC)

Then I don't understand your question. I thought you were asking how to link to the English article. Anyway, this is English Wikipedia. If you want to contribute articles in Korean, you can do that at Korean Wikipedia. If the article you posted here isn't translated within the next two weeks, it will be submitted for deletion. New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello Largoplazo/Archives, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 16,991 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a a day.

Technology update:

  • Rentier has created a NPP browser in WMF Labs that allows you to search new unreviewed pages using keywords and categories.

General project update:

  • The Wikimedia Foundation Community Tech team is working with the community to implement the autoconfirmed article creation trial. The trial is currently set to start on 7 September 2017, pending final approval of the technical features.
  • Please remember to focus on the quality of review: correct tagging of articles and not tagbombing are important. Searching for potential copyright violations is also important, and it can be aided by Earwig's Copyvio Detector, which can be added to your toolbar for ease of use with this user script.

Speedy deletion- Livetecs

Hi, I'm not sure why you consider my article to be a candidate for speedy deletion when there are not only several sources but links to other pages explaining a) software and b) other companies within the same sphere which have not been flagged for deletion. Please can you elaborate? Thanks Richardaldinho (talk) 01:41, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi. It's because there's no indication that Livetec might be of encyclopedic significance. The sphere isn't pertinent: there are actors, athletes, restaurants, movie theatres, pizza bakers, software makers, and so forth that meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines and those that don't. As for the sources you provided, most of them are Livetec's own website. Coverage of a company by its own website isn't an indication that it's notable. The remainder include three press releases (which aren't independent sources), reviews on a social media review site, a couple of database-driven listings, and one person's own opinion on a blog as to the top ten timetracking software offerings of 2007. None of these rises to the level of the sort of independent reliable source that is called for by Wikipedia for establishing notability. A brief glance at Google doesn't make a case for notability of this company any clearer. Largoplazo (talk) 02:08, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

This seems to me to be double standards. Consider https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Replicon_(company) and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BQE_Software_Inc and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grindstone_(time-tracking_software) and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ManicTime - all similar offerings under the same umbrella. Surely part of the job of an encyclopedia is collation, and my article adds to a larger umbrella? Either that or none of these pages, or several others, deserve to exist either? Richardaldinho (talk) 02:17, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

Why is it a double standard? The standard is notability. Topics that meet that standard can be included. Topics that don't can be excluded. That's one standard.
As for the companies you mentioned, I dunno, I'm not familiar with them. Perhaps if I examine those articles and do some research, it will turn out that those companies aren't notable and that those articles are also subject to deletion. See WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Indeed, there have been occasions when someone has pointed out other articles to me as you're doing, and the outcome has been the deletion of those other articles. It may also turn out that they are clearly notable. The result may vary company by company. Largoplazo (talk) 02:21, 14 September 2017 (UTC)
Regarding your comment about adding to the Wikipedia umbrella: Wikipedia stresses that it is not for everything. Largoplazo (talk) 02:23, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

Perhaps research is the issue here - I flat out don't believe you've done enough, I'm afraid. One man's notability and all that... I think I'd like a second opinion. Richardaldinho (talk) 02:23, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

You'll get one, since an administrator has to come along and decide the merits of the deletion nomination and evaluate any counterarguments made on the article's talk page. And, while it's also fine for you to discuss things with me here, any argument that you want considered by the administrator making the decision on the deletion needs to be on the talk page. You can help your case by coming up with qualifying sources that actually convey notability, sources meeting the qualifications of substantial coverage, independence of the subject, and reliability. Largoplazo (talk) 02:25, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

Roller Life

Can you explain what you need me to do. The film Roller Life is a real film that's screening at multiple film fests. There are multiple credible sources attached to the article. What is the issue? I am confused? Can you help explain please? (Adjinwis (talk) 02:09, 14 September 2017 (UTC))

Before I answer, let me ask you: Do you understand what copyright is? Did you follow the links in the deletion message to the information that you may be looking for, explaining what the problem is? Copyright has nothing to do with whether the film is real or whether it's showing at film festivals or whether there are sources to confirm any of this. Largoplazo (talk) 02:11, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

I understand copyright yes. I believe the copy in question was edited and addressed. (Adjinwis (talk) 03:23, 14 September 2017 (UTC)) Adjinwis (talk) 03:23, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

All the information in an article about a company shouldn't be from the company. Information in any article should, ideally, be neutral, verifiable information from reliable sources that are independent of the article's subject. An article about a company should not reflect what the company chooses to say about itself or include information that isn't externally verifiable. Largoplazo (talk) 10:33, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

Drafts out of scope of PNT

Hi there, thanks for your feedback on Draft:Shijo Kingo not being covered by WP:PNT. However, this page does appear to be about a notable topic and needs translation into English before it could be promoted to mainspace, at which point I assume WP:PNT could take care of it, and the original contributor doesn't seem interested. The draft sat unedited for a long time and was G13-deleted, and they immediately just recreated the page in Indonesian and went away again. Can you recommend a different course of action to attact attention from an Indonesian-speaking English editor? I thought about going through the Category:User id subcats to find someone active who might be interested but I'm not having any luck, most of the id-N and id-5 editors haven't edited in years. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 21:24, 18 September 2017 (UTC)

@Ivanvector: I was checking out the guidance at WP:TRANSLATETOHERE but before I got as far as a solution to suggest, I noticed that the article already exists on Indonesian Wikipedia. So it qualifies for WP:A2 deletion. Even if one were to give it leeway as a draft that one wouldn't give in article space, it's passed that deadline. If the creator really wants to have it here, there is a procedure for requesting the creation of an article and suggesting that it be translated from an existing article on another language's Wikipedia; it would be worth notifying the user of that approach concurrent with the submission of the draft for deletion. How does that strike you? Largoplazo (talk) 00:34, 19 September 2017 (UTC)

  • The new page backlog is currently at 14304 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a day.
  • Currently there are 532 pages in the backlog that were created by non-autoconfirmed users before WP:ACTRIAL. The NPP project is undertaking a drive to clear these pages from the backlog before they hit the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing a few today!

If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at A Fal. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Hummerrocket (talk) 19:17, 2 December 2017 (UTC)

@Hummerrocket: FYI, I didn't create the article, but I appear as the creator because I moved it. This is a case of the original creator recreating an article under the original title after a move. I've reverted it to a redirect. Let's see if it stays that way. Largoplazo (talk) 19:24, 2 December 2017 (UTC)
@Largoplazo: Ok, thank you for clearing it up. Hummerrocket (talk) 19:26, 2 December 2017 (UTC)

ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, Largoplazo. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)
