Retzawl is a village, located in Dima Hasao (commonly known for N C Hills) District of Assam state, India. It is believed to have been established dates back to 1880's and its name was fashioned in commemoration with a place of plain where rubber trees were there. The word 'RETZAWL' is in a native language of the Hmars, meaning 'the field of rubber trees' or 'rubber field'. Retzawl village was founded by some members of the thieks. Again thieks are the sub-clan of the Hmars. The rule of this village is a hereditary kingship of the Tuolor’s family from amongst the sub-clans of the thiek. Sri.
