File:Infrasofttech.PNG

[edit]

Hello. I forgot to change the license of File:Infrasofttech.PNG on Commons to be {{PD-textlogo}}. I have done that now. If you think that is not appropriate I can undelete the copy here. Angus McLellan (Talk) 11:14, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Its ok, If its qualifies {{PD-textlogo}} I dont have any problem. thanks KuwarOnline Talk 13:25, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think it does, but if it turns out that Commons disagree it can always be undeleted and tagged as a non-free logo. All the best, Angus McLellan (Talk) 13:27, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New photographs of Mumbai and other Indian cities

[edit]

Hey Kuwar, keep up your good work on Wikipedia and Skyscrapercity. Mumbai skyline has certainly changed a lot in the past 10 months with lots of new, fascinating developments adorning its cityscape. But its latest image on Wikipedia dates back to December 2009. I tried to get free and good quality images for Mumbai but couldn't find any. Can you transfer some of your latest photographs from your web albums or any other sources to Wiki?

It would be even better if you could get high quality and latest free images of other cities.

Regards, Aman Gupta (Goodboy2009) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Goodboy2009 (talkcontribs) 12:46, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Aman, thanks for message, my web album contains some of the pics which is not released under any free licenses. Yes all pics taken by me are by default in free domain, here User:KuwarOnline/MyPhotoGallary I have uploaded some of the pics. thanks KuwarOnline Talk 13:27, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Kuwar ,thanks for replying, but i don't see any visible changes or new uploads related to Mumbai or some other city, in your photo gallery on wiki. Does your reply mean that the photos in your web album on picasa & other sites can be transferred to wiki even by someone else than you for free and fair use? If not, then please do transfer some good pics, if not from your album, then from some other good source. I know you love Mumbai & India & I'm sure that you will supply some good pics to serve this purpose.

Also, i would like to bring the differences in lengths and present status of expressways in India in Transport in India & Indian Expressways to your notice.

Regards, Aman Gupta (Goodboy2009) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Goodboy2009 (talkcontribs) 14:38, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sure my friend, please let me know, so I can update them. About the pics in my album are not all of mine but few of them, the other photos I collected from skyscrapercity so we cannot upload all of them, but surely I can ask the uploader/author if he is ready to release under any free license. thanks KuwarOnline Talk 04:17, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, you may wish to consider my comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Commonwealth Games Village 2010. Thanks, ANGCHENRUI WP:MSE 14:29, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Photographs

[edit]

I've noticed you have uploaded a few photographs of highways. My suggestion is to shift them to the Commons, where they can be better used.

Regards, --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 11:50, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Great, any help how to do it? KuwarOnline Talk 12:15, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think this --> [1] Better would to ask User:SBC-YPR about it ... Regards, --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 15:47, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the link suggested above is the way to do it. You need to download the file from WP to your computer, upload it to commons using the form linked above, and fill in the details. For this, you can either create a TUSC token (by using the process specified here) or directly fill in the fields yourself. After that, place the tag {{db-nowcommons}} on the WP image page (which is now a duplicate of the Commons page) and it will be deleted by an administrator.
Hope this helps. If you need further clarifications, do not hesitate to contact me on my talk page :-) Regards, SBC-YPR (talk) 17:13, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank I will try that way :) KuwarOnline Talk 17:41, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

[edit]

Thanks for informing about the Wikipedia policies.

I am trying to create articles on Tata Swach, a product from Tata Chemicals. I am a new Wikipedia user and have been trying to cope with Wikipedia user policies. I have rewritten the articles number of times, trying to conform to Wikipedia guidelines.

I would request you to please have a look at Tata Swach page and suggest the sections that may be conflicting with the Wikipedia policies. I have tried to present complete information with utmost neutrality without resorting to any advertorial tone. You may please go through the page and suggest.

Thanks --Globalfunky (talk) 10:41, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi buddy, I surely look the article, I also added in watchlist. KuwarOnline Talk 11:02, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks buddy. Your suggestions on the article awaited. Thanks once again --Globalfunky (talk) 11:04, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Any updates / suggestion on improving the Tata Swach page? Please suggest. Also, if you could help me with adding Images to the page. --Globalfunky (talk) 09:14, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, sorry I havent read tata swach article fully, I have just seen it, first looks shows its nicely written article with some minor change required. I think we should add few image, but again, If you own the image then add directly, but do not copy paste from other website, if you this product or if u able to go and take some pictures of this product, then there is no problem, u can just upload here and then we can add it to article. KuwarOnline Talk 09:24, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Please go through the article when time permits. Your suggestions awaited. I have also added a couple of images of Tata Swach purifier and Tata Swach Bulb to the article. Both these images are entire my work and have been licensed appropriately to suit Wikipedia policies. --Globalfunky (talk) 10:44, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Aadhaar logo.jpg

[edit]
⚠
Thanks for uploading File:Aadhaar logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. hello

[edit]

dear sir,

we are a pharmaceuticals company and some of our old staff who were thrown out last year has played with the article of Taj Pharma and getting it deleted.

As we can notice that you commented on that and have a very good record of article creation in wikipedia.

we as a company will request to correct it.

you have almost all the companies from mumbai.

our company name is Taj Pharma and all the details can be availed from google.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:KuwarOnline/Taj

If you can correct and re put the article it will be great help as we as a company have no idea how to do it

regards,

Taj Pharma —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.164.16.135 (talk) 03:06, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks you for message, I have taken backup of article in hope that once I will get good reference like Times of India, The Indian Express, Business Standard, DNA, The Financial Express etc I will restore it. I suppose to restore/recreate that article even if you are not requested, Once I fix the issue ie good references I will recreate that article, else it will look like advertising which agaist wikipedia rules are ie WP:Advert. To have article for anything like company, company should be WP:Notable enough. Thanks KuwarOnline Talk 06:21, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Mumbai-Pune Expressway11.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:41, 11 January 2011 (UTC) [reply]

A tag has been placed on File:RBI Tower.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Indiatowerinmumbai.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Indiatowerinmumbai.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 08:01, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have just speedy-deleted three of your uploaded files as apparent copyright violations: all three were declared your "own work", but one had previously been published on flickr, one on skyscrapercity, and one on picasaweb, all by people who apparently were not you.

Please go through all your old image uploads a.s.a.p. and make a list, here on your page, of any further files that might have similar problems. If you do not comply or do so incompletely (i.e. if I find any further copyvios later that you didn't declare at this point), I am afraid I'll have to block you indefinitely. Replaceable fair use File:Mumbai Metro Renderer.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Mumbai Metro Renderer.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 08:07, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Top Indian companies template

[edit]

KuwarOnline, it looks like we have a common interest in improving the coverage of Indian organizations. I appreciate the editing you've done especially by creating new articles. Regarding Template:Top Indian companies, I'm curious what the criteria for inclusion are. Is there a cutoff in terms of revenue, number of employees or some other objective criteria? This will help avoid future arguments over what should be listed. I'm watching the template's talk page for a reply there. Thanks! Brianhe (talk) 19:20, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
