deleted article Kishin Taisen Gigantic Formula

[edit]

Hey, i have the same question here that everyone else has, i want to know why you deleted the anime article i made. Sure it was extremely basic, but why not just leave it up until someone expands the article. It's from a anime show thas on in japan and getting fantranslated, it will probably even get a US release later. The article itself was: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Kishin_Taisen_Gigantic_Formula&action=edit

Please explain your reason for using rollback at the above-linked article.

Per Help:Reverting,

Rollbacks should be used with caution and restraint, in part because they leave no explanation for the revert in the edit summary. Reverting a good-faith edit may therefore send the message that "I think your edit was no better than vandalism and doesn't deserve even the courtesy of an explanation." It is a slap in the face to a good-faith editor. If you use the rollback feature for anything other than vandalism or for reverting yourself, it's polite to leave an explanation on the article talk page, or on the talk page of the user whose edit(s) you reverted.

I'm a former admin, to roll me back that way is ridiculous. The section clearly says "timeline of recent events". There have been no recent events in the basin. The good-faith edit I made was wholly appropriate.

I'd appreciate some kind of response or apology. Thanks. Chacor 12:38, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You removed the named storm of June. That was why I rolled back.--Kungfu Adam (talk) 05:22, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Did you even read what I said? The timeline is of recent events. There have been none in over two weeks. It was a good-faith appropriate edit that should not have been dealt with using rollback. Chacor 06:20, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you delete this article? Every fighter on the main card of UFC 73 has an article. This is way out of line. It should have at least been put to a vote. No one even bothered to contact me (the author) to say that it was deleted or offer an explanation. This is unbelievable. I seriously doubt the person that nominated the article for deletion had a chance to seriously consider if it was the appropriate thing to do given that he/she nominated it for deletion one minute after creation. I didn't even have time to make an edit to the article to fix a typo before the Speedy tag had been added. It really concerns me that no one even bothered to say why my contested tag was completely ignored. Chicken Wing 17:15, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for restoring the article, and my apologies for perhaps using an unnecessarily inflammatory tone in my request. Chicken Wing 20:01, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is this not worthy of a straight out speedy delete tag? This information is pretty non-notable. If I am wrong, thank you for correcting my mistake. --SteelersFan UK06 17:22, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure, myself. I have caught a lot of heat for outright deleting articles. This could be notable if it were expanding. The prod tag gives five days... You didn't make any mistake.--Kungfu Adam (talk) 17:24, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

John Smeaton (Baggage Handler)

[edit]

Why did you delete this page? I've noticed you're an American so who are you to judge what's notable for something concerning Scotland and the United Kingdom? The guy who stormed the cockpit during 9/11 has a page and John Smeaton did basically the same thing but survived. Have some respect for British heroes!--RMC1989 19:51, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article is unsourced and poorly written... My nationality has nothing to do with my decision. We are very well aware of what has been going on in the UK, we are not stupid.--Kungfu Adam (talk) 20:00, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The New Pandemic

[edit]

Hi. This message is regarding the "The New Pandemic" article. I am a new user for Wikipedia, and was wondering if you could clear up why my article was deleted?

Deleted article

[edit]

Hello. You deleted my article and locked it from recreation. The text was about as neutral as it can get. the article was for Welcome Books.

Why did you delete the Angry Video Game article?

[edit]

well the topic kinda says it doesn't it? im just wondering why you would delete the article since he is pretty well known on the internet

knuru

[edit]

why doesn't knuru qualify for an article? It is an established company with nearly a million business users. It can be accessed on www.knuru.com I have basically started an article which will be updated by knuru's users for a more balanced article. kindly relpy to me or e-mail me at moussa.zeid@knuru.com

knuru

[edit]

Hi, i understand you deleted the knuru page because you thought it was a company. Knuru infact is a search engine for business. It is a free service just as google or yahoo. I can not understand why you delted it. kindly restore the page because wikipedia is about sharing knowledge rather than restricting knowledge to the likes of big companies like google. Regards, M zeid

Wikimania in Atlanta!

[edit]

Hi! I noticed your involvement on U.S. South-related articles, categories and WikiProjects, and I wanted to let you know about a bid we're formulating to get next year's Wikimania held in Atlanta! If you would like to help, be sure to sign your name to the "In Atlanta" section of the Southeast team portion of the bid if you're in town, or to the "Outside Atlanta" section if you still want to help but don't live in the city or the suburbs. If you would like to contribute more, please write on my talk page, the talk page of the bid, or join us at the #wikimania-atlanta IRC chat on freenode.org. Have a great day!

P.S. While this is a template for maximum efficiency, I would appreciate a note on my talk page so I know you got the message, and what you think. This is time-sensitive, so your urgent cooperation is appreciated. :) Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 04:00, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello, Adam. I am David Page, new to Wikipedia. I have looked to find out why the article "Sales Pitch" was deleted by you, but I can't locate the reason why. (The dead page is linked from the article, "Elevator Pitch.") Would you please point me in the right direction for the reason?

Thank you,

Dutch Design

[edit]

Dear Adam, Finally I thought I was going to find a trustfull description, a definition of 'Dutch Design', written by the Dutch experts itself! It seems you have removed it just last august the 4th??? Do you know where I can find the original text people putted on Wikipedia about 'Dutch Design' movement? I need it desperately for my marketing-research for an american company. Since it was written by the members of BnO (the organisation of designers) and readers (=designlovers) of Bispublishers who provides the best designmagazine of Holland. This would have been the most committed, honest description of Dutch Design to find.I am almost desperate: I do not know where to find my information now Thank you very much for your help Kind regards, Hester Vlamings hester@vlamings.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.87.179.240 (talk) 18:34, August 24, 2007 (UTC)

Proposed article on CvWiki

[edit]

Gee are you a busy guy! I got ready to create an article about CvWiki but found the following message:

  • 23:18, 20 August 2006 Kungfuadam (Talk | contribs) deleted "CvWiki" ‎ (closing prod uncontested since 14 Aug)

I tried to find the archive on your contribs of more than a year ago, and had a hard time because there are so many. I failed to find anything from either 20 August or 14 August. The article must have been deleted for a routine notability challenge. I propose to write my article so as to show notability (major step in history of wikis: child of WikiBase and parent of AtisWiki, in turn parent of UseModWiki, the former software of Wikipedia). Then I'll wait to see if it gets challenged. Does that sound okay? Redeyed Treefrog 22:22, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Help! I created my page but mistakenly called it Cvwiki. Then I clicked on the existing link to CvWiki and copied the same stuff there. Now there is both a Cvwiki page and a CvWiki page. How do I get rid of the unwanted Cvwiki page? Redeyed Treefrog 23:44, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Was you that put a redirect from Cvwiki to CvWiki? If so, thanks. I had figured out how to do it, but found it done. However, no such edit shows up on your User contributions. Are you using another user account? (Kunguadam only seems active about once a month at the moment.) Redeyed Treefrog 11:18, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No I haven't done anything with this- Kungfuadam is only active every once in awhile because he is busy (this is the only account I edit with).--Kungfu Adam (talk) 15:02, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The redirect must have been done automatically then. Or perhaps by a wiki-gnome? At any rate, I had trouble imagining that you only edit once in a while now when I saw how active you were at one point. - Redeyed Treefrog 15:58, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GLFW

[edit]

According to the log, you were the one deleting GLFW. The deletion note, however, was a bit hard for me to interpret; "closing prod uncontested since 4 Aug". I read it as " ... production uncontested ... ". But thats no longer true, as you can see if you check the news section on thier site. I stumbled upon this project when looking up TAO_(software) and I think that page is worth recreating.

Please contact me if you want to discuss this further, either on my talk page (I dont check it that often) or through my mail @ mizipzor at gmail dot com.

Your edit to Serge Gainsbourg article

[edit]

Please make your contributions constructive. Removing information that does not harm an article, when it has a valid source is vandalism. If you do not like this information, I suggest you go remove similar things from most other musicians. How about starting with the band AC/DC, and removing this information "AC/DC are ranked fourth on VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock[7] and were ranked by MTV the 7th "Greatest Heavy Metal Band Of All Time".[8]" 219.90.242.174 01:59, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dr. Steel article

[edit]

Greetings. I am writing to discuss with you the re-creation of an article on the musical artist Dr. Steel. I understand that, in the past, many articles have been made that were of questionable veracity and I assure you that what I have planned will be well within the guidelines of Wikipedia. I have drafts drawn up for Dr. Steel himself and for his two released albums, if you would like to see these I will gladly send them to you. Any assistance that you can offer will be greatly appreciated. Msr iaidoka 08:44, 7 November 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Emilio

[edit]

I noticed that you deleted the page Emilio because it kept getting deleted as nonsense. I would appreciate if you could please unprotect/undelete it -- I have just created a page on the Tejano musician Emilio Navaira, who is more commonly known as just Emilio. Is there a chance that you could undelete Emilio so that I could move the content of Emilio Navaira to Emilio, since he's most commonly known by just his first name? Quebec Gold

[edit]

Hi I see you deleted Quebec Gold because it was titled as non-factual pro-drugwar propaganda. I don't see how this is possible given the legitimate sources of the drug. There is marijuana out there actually called Quebec Gold and was wondering why an article explaining a factual item was deleted. It was factual, not pro-drugwar as it was just explaining what the drug is, similar to BC Bud and in light of that not certainly not propaganda. WP:Brazil - Things to Work On

[edit]

I have noticed that you have a personal project on the To-Do page of the WP:Brazil wikiproject. I myself have contributed to it (see Eldorado, São Paulo).

Anyways, to the point. While reading an article about Drummond, I became interested in another poet, one which I could not find. I then saw the article, List of Brazilian writers, and noticed that there is way too many red links to be even partially satisfactory. I say we could put this on the To-Do page.

Thanks, and congratulations on the success of the project. Tufts (talk) 15:32, 24 November 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Deletion (From Way Back)

[edit]

Hey there, how's it going?

I was recently looking at some pages I created a while back and noticed that one of them (Colony-Wars) had been proposed for deletion by yourself. This is going back to August 2006 so it's quite a while ago. None-the-less I was reading the FAQ section and it said I should try and get in contact with you since you have the power to restore the page.

So that's the purpose of this message, to ask the reasons (if you can even remember!) for deletion, and to see how I go about getting the page restored.

Issue 2 - October 2007

Your second or third stop for WikiProject Oklahoma News

Modest boost in assessed articles during September

WikiProject Oklahoma's massive list of unassessed articles got smaller over the month of September, as 45 articles were assessed by bots and editors. Assessments made on August 31 bring the total to 62 assessed articles over the 31-day period. On September 15, BetacommandBot assessed 40 articles from no-class to stub and start class. This bot automatically updates the talk pages of articles included in more than one WikiProject if at least one WikiProject has already assessed the material, bringing each interested WikiProject's ratings into compliance with the assessment. No B-class or higher quality assessments were given out over September, and only a small handful of importance assessments were granted. On August 31, one Low, Mid, and High importance rating was given to three separate articles. Leroy McGuirk was given the lone high-importance rating.

Oklahoma categories receive help from Texan

TexasAndroid, an administrator, assisted WikiProject Oklahoma by categorizing nearly 100 Oklahoma-related pages on September 24. The additions were made mainly to Tulsa-related pages. "I've done the major cities in Texas in the past, and was thinking about what to do next, and decided to stay relatively close to home for now. Thus OK's big cities got done," TexasAndroid wrote on his user page.

Meet WikiProject Oklahoma's "sub-project"

Taskforce Tulsa, a collaboration of editors operating under WikiProject Oklahoma, has been created to increase the scope of Wikipedia's coverage of Tulsa and its surrounding areas. Taskforce Tulsa is many things, but most importantly, it is a way for editors to have a place to put Tulsa-related requests (pictures, article, expansion, collaboration) for other editors interested in Tulsa. News, guidelines, and category trees related to Tulsa articles can easily be accessed and added through the task force's project page. The taskforce is not its own WikiProject. Instead, it works in conjunction with WikiProject Oklahoma to increase the quality and scope of Tulsa-related material. Because of the increased clutter and unnecessary waste of space that would be created with a new WikiProject, editors have opted for a taskforce, or workgroup project. Rather than having a Wikiproject Oklahoma banner as well as a Wikiproject Tulsa banner on most Tulsa-related pages, editors can simply add the Tulsa Taskforce note onto the existing Wikiproject Oklahoma banner. Cleaner, clearer, and more efficient. In edit mode, such a banner would appear as this: "{{WikiProject Oklahoma|class=FA|importance=Top|tulsa-task-force=yes}}". In other words, simply adding "tulsa-task-force=yes}}" to the existing Wikiproject Oklahoma banner on an article's talk page would include that article into the Tulsa Task Force. According to an explanation on the taskforce's project page, "The Tulsa Task Force is a 'sub-wikiproject' operating 'beneath' Wikiproject Oklahoma, and is designed to assist it by focusing specifically on Tulsa-related material. Editors who are interested in expanding knowledge of Tulsa on Wikipedia may wish to consider themselves part of Taskforce Tulsa as well as Wikiproject Oklahoma." Interested parties can sign up much like a stand-alone WikiProject.

Your help please...

[edit]

I started an article on Rustam Akhmyarov (Chechen leader) on 2006 May 16. The record shows you deleted it on June 16 2006.

Whoever nominated it didn't honor the recommendation of the deletion guidelines to leave a courtesy heads-up on my talk page. So I have no idea what their concern may have been.

If I understand DRV you can restore this article without the formality of a DRV. Would you do so? I'll contact the nominator, if I can't figure out what their concern was.

Cheers! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Geo Swan (talkcontribs) 23:37, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Adam. I am the Director of Marekting for ProZ.com - I did not post the original article, but see that there was an article that was subsequently deleted. The reasons cited were specifically WP:Corp and advertising policies.

I have reviewed the policies and would like to know if I could submit another perhaps more appropriate article and history, and if you had any additional insight or suggestions on how to ensure the new submission does not violate the terms and policies of the site.

ProZ.com is the worlds largest social network site for the language industry. We are a privately held company, but we do have over 200,000 registered users, 1,250,000 daily page views (many from lay persons searching our terminology database of 1,000,000 archived terms in 300+ languages) and have been extensively referrenced and cited by numerous entities within the translation industry - American Translators Association, MultiLingual Computing, ClientSide News and more. As well as some non translation industry sources as well.

I appreciate any time you can provide in helpping me re-post an article that will meet the posting guideliness.

Respectfully,

Drew MacFadyen —Preceding unsigned comment added by Drew MacFadyen (talkcontribs) 22:49, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Joseph Rowntree Theatre page

[edit]

As there are a couple of dangling links to it I was going to put in a page with historical and current information on the theatre. However I see that there was such a page but that it was deleted by you a year back. Is there a way to get the proposed content assessed rather than potentially starting a delete fight which I'd lose :-)

AfD Discussion needs your thoughts

[edit]

You were the admin that deleted Greater Miami Conference two years ago which is one of the conferences in Ohio High School Athletic Conferences. All the remaining conferences were brought to an AfD. This discussion is debating whether or not high school athletic conferences are notable. The discussion is here. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. --BurpTheBaby (talk) 01:50, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletions I did over two years ago

[edit]

To all that are complaining. I hardly ever edit Wikipedia due to family and real life obligations. So please do not complain if I have taken months to answer you. Just check my few and far between contributions to Wikipedia. Perhaps I will become active a little later.--Kungfu Adam (talk) 02:53, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings, I'm just trying to get a current feel for who is still active in the project and if anybody would object to cleaning out inactive users of the verified user list. Thank you for your time. Q T C 03:35, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

File:Francis Marion Forest.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Francis Marion Forest.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Francis Marion Forest.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself.--Erwin85Bot (talk) 00:50, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why Exactly did you delete the page on Joseph Koney? That page should be up there but it's not anymore and I'm somewhat confused as to why it was taken off and deleted. There's alot of people who need to know who this man is just as much as Adolf Hitler. People want to know about the wars that are not talked about these days because they have hearts and they care. Please bring back the information on that page because it's needed to educate. Thank you and God Bless —Preceding unsigned comment added by199.184.238.132 (talk) 18:43, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request to reverse deletion of getopt

[edit]

I noticed that you deleted the page for getopt. getopt is a notable part of the C standard library. The C standard library is well known to most computer programmers, but few other people know about it. Other notable parts of the C standard library such as strcpy have their own articles. Please restore the article. Thank you. -Pingveno 22:51, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind. I handled through the deletion review process. - Pingveno 00:12, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
