Mape BIH

[edit]

PANONIAN (talk) 01:02, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi Kseferovic. Thank you to hold me with the current, it is very nice. But which are the emblems of the RS and FBiH? Is it not decided yet? Greetings. Rémih 20:07, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. There is no more until has to wait that new emblems are adopted. Bye. Rémih 20:17, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mapa BIH

[edit]

PANONIAN (talk) 13:38, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Semberac

[edit]

I've asked him too.

BTW did you hear of the Montenegrin-Serbian Orthodox Church incident? --PaxEquilibrium 21:57, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do you know what incident I'm referring to?

Difference in what way?

A split between the Churches is something really expectable. Montenegro is now an independent country. --PaxEquilibrium 22:51, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Read here and here on the incident.

Those are all (or most) Montenegrins that switched their nationality as per the 2003 population census. In 1991 there were around 20,000 Serbs in Montenegro, forming about 3.33% of the population. Today, there are 200,000 Serbs in Montenegro, forming 33% of the population.

Actually of the entire electorate 47.6% voted for independence. Also remember that this does not include underage children that aren't registered voters and that a very large number of the people who voted are not Orthodox Christians, but Muslims (the Roman Catholics are too insignificant to mention).

On the list of institutions in which the Montenegrins trust mostly, the Serbian Orthodox Church stands in the 1st place, while the Montenegrin Orthodox Church takes the 6th.

Most Orthodox people are adherents of the Serbian Orthodox Church, only a minority are in support of the MOC (characterized stereotypically by the Serb Church as "Montenegrin nationalists and extremists that do not care for God).

No, a "Montenegrin Orthodox Church" has never existed, but the Montenegrin Metropolinate has been autocephalous in the late 19th century and the beginning of the 20th. This is from where the MOC draws its claims.

P.S. You didn't answer my question, what did you mean by difference (in traditions, or what)? --PaxEquilibrium 23:40, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll take care of them if "they" make any more troubles (seems to me "they" gave up).
If "they" re-activate, notify me please.
P.S. What do you think 'bout the incident? --PaxEquilibrium 11:05, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Reasons why you cannot do a checkuser:
1. Checkusers are not conducted on obvious sock-puppets
2. *They* have not really done any severe violation --PaxEquilibrium 20:40, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

But you don't see the problem over here. The MOC possesses absolutely no religious; and all 4,000+ are in the possession of the SOC.

There is no way to solve the problems without bloodshed (the MOC wants to takeover SOC monasteries and churches, the SOC doesn't let them). --PaxEquilibrium 21:04, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That doesn't have to do much with the Serbians or Serbia. The Montenegrin government and Montenegrins oppose it. As you saw at the links I gave you, it is the police that prevented them from barging into the seat of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral.

The Montenegrin Head said "Let us in or there shall be bloodshed!" and if he tries that in several days again with the help of the Lovcen Brigade para-military unit of Jevrem Brkovic... the shall be bloodshed. --PaxEquilibrium 21:35, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bosnia; Vehabias

[edit]

Did Bosnia have/have had troubles with the Vehabias too? --PaxEquilibrium 15:32, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Did you hear about their activities in Sanjak? Kostunica's cabinet seems to be connected to them (SDA still didn't distance itself). They've discovered a weapon stash in the hills outside Novi Pazar enough to arm an army. The Wahhabias were partly arrested, the others have fled (Sandzak, remember) to Montenegro where they are under custody, but a great part has found refuge and protection in Kosovo.
I mean did you read their works? They say that "democracy and freedom of speech" is a "capitalist imperialist creation", hate women, gays, etc...
The Bosniaks and other Slavic Muslims in Sandzak cannot live in peace with them (what's interesting, they don't bother the Christians or Serbia at all; they just attack the regular Sandzaklijas).
For example, the "1st phase" of their plan is to deal with Bosniak politicians. "2nd phase" is to sent to justice (murder?) the Imam in Sandzak. And the last "3rd phase" is cleansing of the Turks (remember Ratko Mladic!), which means that they'll force every Sandzak Muslim to accept the true view of Allah, or suffer the penalty of death. --PaxEquilibrium 12:01, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Eurovision contestants

[edit]

Thanks for spotting Marija Šerifović. Her country of birth has been restored. The fact that ones American passport may state that someone was born in Bosnia & Herzegovina is not evidence that that was the actual country at the time when it is known differently. So far, we've followed historical accuracy. People are fixed to times, nobody lived forever, but lands and nations change. Explaining present-day territories is fine, but saying that someone from Biblical times was born somewhere in the "occupied territories of Israel" is ridiculous. Besides, Yugoslavia was removed from the Serbian entry's name twice in a short space, both times by disruptive users whom we're unlikely to see again. Indeed, your list of contributions makes you worlds ahead of those users, so if you feel the need to make alterations with regards modern/former countries, we need to start a proper discussion somewhere, inviting all contributions. At the moment, it seems people remove countries of birth for no other stupid reason than "country doesn't exist any more", in other words, nationalists pandering to their current nation's prejudices. Wikipedia is not a theatre for those people who like to live in cockoo-land (I've read travel brochures which have spoken of Croatia's long and varied history, periods under the Venetians, the Austrians, the Hungarians...and now independent, that is the picture some like to build). What are they, embarrassed about their recent ancestors or something? All I'm saying is, if we make changes and take out countries of birth, we'll find stiff opposition when we get outside the Balkans and onto the world. And of course, for the reason I listed above - not liking a country - we can't have one rule for one set of people and another for others. If you feel this issue needs discussion, write to me any time you wish. Thank you. Evlekis 04:36, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aha! I see what you mean. I didn't think the concept would offend you personally, I've followed some of your discussions in the past and I see that you've stuck up for the old country rather than attacked it, or atleast that's how I remember off the top of my head. You're absolutely correct. The easiest thing we can do is add the simple four letters "then", (ie. Imotski, Croatian then Yugoslavia), or where I personally arrange the setting (such as where I've started the article): Kranj, Yugoslavia (now Slovenia). The former is probably better. Obviously you see I have left the Šestić article as you have shaped it and I am happy with it. We need only keep it on our watchlists so that anons with a grudge against the old country don't wipe it off. When people ask me my origin, I tend to say the Balkans in an attempt to keep politics at arm's length, but then they'll ask "which part?" so you have to explain everything to them...you've been there and you know it. I suppose you can forgive the young Americans for not knowing about Bosnia's territorial past in the SFRJ and before. Anyway, it's good that we totally agree. Over the next few visits, I'll slowly edit the ambiguous articles. The more of us who agree on a single form, the better. Thanks. Evlekis 17:55, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the link and the response. Nothing in this world is perfect. Of course I was raised in a Yugoslav spirit as I presume you too were, and nobody claims that anything is 100% the way it needs to be. Most of us are polititians in our own rights; if I were to cast the moves which I would carry out given chance to be dictator-almighty, it would so unpopular that I'd have no choice but to silence two entire generations before the next one is "born into it". But I know it would work. There were indeed lies and false propaganda spread by the pro-independence clerics from all sides, no question of it. But as long as people can be friends, and celebrate who they are from one Balkan nation to the next, I very much think that the remainder can drown in the ocean for all I care, I won't miss them! about the Yugoslavia map.

[edit]

Thanks for your concerns about the map. Kosovo has been a hot potato since I did the map. I had on it's own but that got complaints from folks. Now I have the boundary in hash-marks as a compromise. As we speak, i'm working on the colors. As for Vojvodina, it stayed put (for lack of a better word) during the 90's. Because of this, it isn't on the maps. Thanks again. - Thanks, Hoshie 06:01, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bosniak

[edit]

Hey! I just wanted to know who do Bosniaks like the most from the yugoslava countries (Macadonina, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Croatia and Slovenia)? And if you could put in order of who most Bosniak like! Thank You in advancee!

This is a very delicate topic.
Note: These are general comments and do not reflect my personal opinions or views. Thank you.
The "general" Bosniak community would put Bosnia first, followed by Slovenia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Croatia, and Serbia. Although some prefer Serbia over Croatia depending from what town they come. If they are from (i.e.) Bugojno then a lot of them dislike Croatians, since they fought against them. Central (some parts), Northern (some parts), and Eastern BiH would put Serbia in the last place. However, no one can be certain, since this is not based on facts; rather, it is based on personal opinion. I might add Montenegro towards the second to last place since around 100 Bosniaks were extradited to the RS during the war and many have never been found. This has caused a lot of controversy.
Your personal message "support independence of RS" while you "support the peaceful unification of Yugoslavia" puzzles me. These two cannot happen hand in hand. The independence of RS is not a possible thing as it defies the Dayton peace accord. Vseferović 01:21, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey thank you a lot for that. I live in Adelaide, Australia and one of my neighbours are bosniak and on the other side they are macedonian but down the street there are also bosnian serbs, croatians and myself with my family (we are serbs) and we all get along fine but i didnt know what it would be like in Yugoslavia back then. But do you hate some serbs or all of us in general? and why? Was it because of the war? Sorry if my thing about saying i support the independence or RS and i support the peaceful unification of Yugoslavia confused you or anything like that. I have that because if yugoslavia never gets back together i would like if RS joined Serbia. It is not because i want to take something away from Bosnia but its because i know that RS and Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina dont get along really well and if a countries can get along than there is no huge potental for it and i know that RS and Serbia get along a lot beter. My last question is do you support independence of RS? and also do you support the peaceful unification of Yugoslavia or do you like it how it is?

Unspecified source for Image:BHArmy.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:BHArmy.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Fair use rationale for Image:Grbsandzaka.svg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Grbsandzaka.svg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use.

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:05, 12 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Greetings + Question

[edit]

Hello. I am new to Wikipedia, but seem to be already caught in an edit war over at Bosniaks article. I saw your name in the history so I thought to ask you this question. Is it appropriate for someone to keep inserting that Bosniaks are not Slav because they have some Illyrian blood in them? I thought that ethnicity had to do with language, culture and customs, and since Bosniaks have Slavic customs, culture and language, isn't it safe to assume they do indeed belong to the Slavic ethnic group? Greetings. Frvernchanezzz (talk) 06:09, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Novi Pazar (Grb).gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Novi Pazar (Grb).gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 01:50, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:AlijaIzetbegoicBiHArmy.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:AlijaIzetbegoicBiHArmy.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it may be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:51, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I can't find anything online to suggest that Darmin Veletanlić, the subject of an article you created in 2006, is notable. Do you have access to any sources yourself?--Ethicoaestheticist (talk) 19:27, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. You have given some contradictory statements on Commons:Image:Bosniaks.png. If there are "no copyrights" how come it's licensed under the GFDL? Also, you have made 4 statements about the source image but only one is valid on Commons.

"The first picture dates over 100 years (FOR SURE) so NO copyright could be placed."
That doesn't mean anything. There's copyrighted material that dates back well into the 1800s that's still copyrighted (It depends on publish date, author's death, possible renewal, and the country of origin.)
"The second en:Image:HG-portrait.png It has a complete license and the article was a "featured article", also it is over 100 years old."
I thought you just said 100 = no copyright? How does this one have a "complete license"?
"The third picture en:bs:Safvet-beg Bašagić comes from the Bosnian Wikipedia, it states free use."
Just like the one above, you must specify what type of license. There's many licenses out there. "Free use" means a lot of different things to different people. Some licenses have copyleft/Share-Alike requirements so we need to know what kind of free license it is. GFDL? GPL? CC-BY? CC-BY-SA? etc.

The rest are fine and I believe the ones above are most likely PD too, so I'm not nominating it for deletion yet, but please add the missing information. And please signify what exactly that GFDL tag applies to. Thanks, Rocket000 (talk) 12:11, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Darmin Veletanlić

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Darmin Veletanlić, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No sources found to support notability of the subject.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Fair use rationale for File:LogoIzbori2006Veliki.jpg

Article upgrade assistance request (Pre-translation stage)

[edit]

Seasons Greetings,

This is in reference to a relatively new umbrella article on en-wikipedia named Ceremonial pole. Ceremonial pole is a human tradition since ancient times; either existed in past at some point of time, or still exists in some cultures across global continents from north to south & from east to west. Ceremonial poles are used to symbolize a variety of concepts in several different world cultures.

Through article Ceremonial pole we intend to take encyclopedic note of cultural aspects and festive celebrations around Ceremonial pole as an umbrella article and want to have historical, mythological, anthropological aspects, reverence or worships wherever concerned as a small part.

While Ceremonial poles have a long past and strong presence but usually less discussed subject. Even before we seek translation of this article in global languages, we need to have more encyclopedic information/input about Ceremonial poles from all global cultures and languages. And we seek your assistance in the same.

Since other contributors to the article are insisting for reliable sources and Standard native english; If your contributions get deleted (for some reason like linguistics or may be your information is reliable but unfortunately dosent match expectations of other editors) , please do list the same on Talk:Ceremonial pole page so that other wikipedians may help improve by interlanguage collaborations, and/or some other language wikipedias may be interested in giving more importance to reliablity of information over other factors on their respective wikipedia.

This particular request is being made to you since your user name is listed in Wikipedia:Translators available list.

Thanking you with warm regards Mahitgar (talk) 05:13, 24 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Notice

The file File:KartaEN.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
