Re: List of Bollywood actresses
I have made only minor changes. The article undoubtedly needs lots of additional citations! --Tito Dutta (talk) 21:20, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

Rai
Hi, i am surprised but should also thank you that you are improving this article a lot. I hope you can do it a GA if you wish so :- )I still dont understand why people think that whoever is showing interest in this article consider/confirm them as worshipers or huge fans? If am only editing this article doesn't mean i am fan of her. I dont care if you assume/consider me as a huge fan of hers. May be Yes, i admire her for so many reasons being a girl. But its very evident in your work too that you dont like her. I understand that its your personal opinion. As i said, every actor has their positive & negative. I dont have any problem with your edits on this article or on other Bollywood actresses.
However I noticed your edits on her performances in films like Shabd, GURU & Raavan/Raavanan. For Shabd - On her acting, I have found more positive comments from good review sites. why was only times of India review considered? How can it be mixed for GURU? & Raavan/Raavanan why it was mentioned only about her characterization? There was more positive response on her performance in these films than what you mentioned in the section. I agree 2-3 critics mentioned her character as screaming but so should have the same feeling from all other critics as well. Since you thought too many reviews from Rediff but just look at this as example. Saisuresh Sivaswamy reviews both Raavan and its Tamil version, Raavanan.
"Vikram told our Patcy Nair that Aishwarya was the real hero of the film -- after seeing both versions I can understand why. This to me must be the most physically challenging role she has played in her career, and every time she stumbles through the river, jungle, or jumps off the waterfall, one needs to remember she had to shoot the scene twice, once in Tamil and once in Hindi. Incredible! There was never any question of the so-called Bollywood top brigade of heroines coming anywhere close to her, and with Raavanan/Raavan she has simply put herself in a different league. The Kareenas and Katrinas and Priyankas can contend among themselves, but Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is beyond them".
However the way you put up for Rai in these three films is not so called neutral. Since you are more experienced here, I am not editing any content unless you verify & make a call. I have listed down all noted sources in her talk page . (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Aishwarya_Rai). I hope you will check all these sources. Thanks again!. FYI- As far as i know i never added source from pinkvilla.

Bride and Prejudice
Hello , Sorry to bother you again. I'm curious, how many TOP international critics gave a thumbs down for her role in the film. It was stated as " International film critics were appreciative of Rai's "beauty" but questioned her acting abilities". I know that "The NYtimes" mentioned in their review that she cant inert. What about other reviews- are they negative as such? I haven't seen too many writing about acting potential, especially in this film. She did received good marks from some important film critics in U.S & U.K. Can we consider these below international critic reviews? Forgive me, but just wanted to bring this point. Most of the reviewers didnt talk/mention about lead actors performance but some of them are below. Top critics from Rotten tomatoes
Michael Wilmington - http://events.nydailynews.com/reviews/show/23658-review-bride-prejudice . The performances to remember here include Rai's. She's an actress of great, piquant beauty and also a screen natural who sweeps through her musical numbers with a smiling ease.
Peter Travers from "Rolling Stone" magazine - Rai, who as Lalita, is a world-class hottie with talent to match, as she proves in her first English-speaking role. Read more: http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/reviews/bride-and-prejudice-20050127#ixzz2Dkdrx3Tg
Roger Moore - Rai is a radiant presence on the screen, an almost supernaturally beautiful woman who can sing and dance and act. The ways she shows her discomfort at Darcy's put-downs and her romantic longing are priceless
Variety - Derek Elley -- None of this would remotely work without the ensemble cast which, led by the stunning Rai at her most relaxed, enters into the souffle-ish spirit.
Michael Dequina from Themoviereport.com -> http://themoviereport.com/fest/afi2004reviews.html#b&p . It is gratifying to see her make the transition from East to West with amazing ease. Showing off her charisma, chops, and charm as headstrong and outspoken Lalita, of one five daughters borne of the marriage-minded Bakshi family in the Indian town of Amritsar, Rai shows that there's no language more universal than simple star quality.

- SRK is by difficult, there is too much information in the article. It needs merciless scissors to shape up that one. Even Rai, I see, has loads of text. The compact the article, the more chance it will have in FAC. And that was a major plus point in Balan's case, I guess. You can eye some film articles, too. Kahaani is waiting there for some months now (well, it has gained unnecessarily in size after Good Article nomination, so would need pruning prior to a possible FAC). --Dwaipayan (talk) 06:07, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
- I think it's ok to keep the wedding date information. I was not aware of this, and just happened to come across several news reports when I did a simple google search on Balan. It needs to be there for comprehensiveness. After the date, the sentence needs to be changed to past tense.
- So, what happened after the grave accusation that you were a Salman Khan fan? manhanir mamla? --Dwaipayan (talk) 15:53, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

Conrgats on the FA
Do you know when it will actually be on the front page? Was it tough? It seems from the size of the review page that it was easier than Preity Zinta was. Inspired by you, I am working on getting Priyanka Chopra to FA. I have done a lot of work on the sources, and have requested the Guild of Copy Editors to have a go at it. Do you have any other advice? BollyJeff | talk 00:23, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

Vidya Balan
Hello, if you get a chance, would you mind popping over to WP:Today's featured article/requests? There are two suggested articles for 1st January, including Balan, and I'm inviting input as to which one people would prefer for the day itself and when the other one might be scheduled instead. Thanks, BencherliteTalk 09:41, 12 December 2012 (UTC)

- (pokes his head round the door) TFAs are always (well, since mid-2006, looking at some old discussion threads at WT:TFA) fully move-protected during their appearance on the main page , because it prevents attention-seeking auto-confirmed vandals having fun by moving the TFA to obscene titles. Chopra Artistry
Hey, well some editors are talking behind my back on this section. I want to say, they shouldn't have approved that section at that time. I added that section consulting everyone coz it was to be copy/edit. I completed that section in two hour. I know that section is weak on prose. I was supposed to work on that, but was blocked before working on that. I don't know but it was not my intention to make it a blog. Bcoz if you see my edits they are not fancuft. I car do much to that. And, you know what we have to go through to find some important sources for Indian articles. But, nobody sees my hard work. Only complains. I'm not able to study and my exams are about to commence. I think everybody takes me lightly and misunderstood me. I'm getting to know very much about Wikipedia and learning one by one. I want to work like you and others too. But, I'm still struggling with negative comments on me. Hope you can understand.Prashant Conversation 03:41, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

Hey Smaro! I would greatly appreciate if you could offer your inputs here! Thanks -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 03:46, 23 January 2013 (UTC)
- Smaro, I don't know if you were there but several months back, a couple of us were debating on whether or not we should include notable film awards to the filmographies of Bollywood actors (like their Hollywood peers). Since there are tonnes of award ceremonies in Bollywood, I was thinking of adding only the notable ones like Filmfare, National, Screen, Apsara, Zee Cine, IIFA and Stardust; something along the lines of this. What do you think? -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 04:12, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
- I kinda agree with you about the sources, but if you take a look at the individual pages of each category (for each award ceremony) you can see that all the nominations are listed. I don't know if its correct but this does mean that someone might have been successful in finding the older links. As for the notability of the awards, the reason why I chose those specific seven, was because of their "long" history. These awards have been given out for a while now and the key thing to note is that they have been held "regularly". The old ones like the Bollywood Movie, Global Indian Film and Sansui Award ceremonies were regular, but they stopped; hence I decided not to include them in the list. Here is the discussion we had. -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 04:39, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
- It shows that Kajol was nominated for the Screen and IIFA due to their archives. I don't know about Zee Cine and Stardust wasn't introduced at that time. BTW what do you mean by "provided we have sources to back them"? Are you talking about sources for nominations or the credibility of the awards? -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 04:56, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
- In addition to the Filmfare and National Film Awards, finding sources for the Apsara and IIFA (because they have their own official websites with nominations for previous years), Stardust (because of how new it is), and to some extent the Screen Awards wouldn't be that bad. However, we might have a bit of a problem for the Zee Cine Awards. Do you think these seven are fine or do you feel the need to add anything else? Shahid indicated that we should also add the BFJA, Bollywood Movie and Sansui Awards. -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 05:07, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
- That's my intention! However, before doing so I intend on starting up the discussion again. I hope that you will be able to help me out with that! -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 03:30, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
- You do see what a certain individual is up to? ;) -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 18:48, 31 January 2013 (UTC)

Image retouched works
Hi Smarojit,
Thanks for your image retouched works. Appreciated.
One suggestion instead of replacing the original content with your cropped versions (subject focused), it is highly recommended that you need to create separate versions for the cropped and face-shot images as below examples.
- Original image: Kajol Vogue Original
- Cropped version: Kajol Vogue Cropped/Face-shot
Idea is, You can apply color changes, alpha level etc and fine tuning enhancements on the same versions, to make crop, better you upload as a another version, so the original can be used for other authors of Wikipedia for another purpose.
Please revert all the files you worked and make as a separate versions for your cropped versions of images --Jenith (talk) 09:44, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

- Not a problem. It would be good if you can take a look at prose and see if it has problems. Though it had done thru GoCE edits, FLC reviewers said that prose has problems. - Vivvt • (Talk) 15:55, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

Mother India peer review
Do have a look at the article Mother India; it is in peer review currently.--Dwaipayan (talk) 16:08, 20 February 2013 (UTC)
- Sure Dwai, I'll take a look soon. :-) --smarojit (buzz me) 16:17, 20 February 2013 (UTC)
- Okay, I have a question. Why does the lead say " It was released in India among fanfare in October or November 1958"? October or November? --smarojit (buzz me) 16:30, 20 February 2013 (UTC)
- I also think you mean "amongst" fanfare. --smarojit (buzz me) 16:32, 20 February 2013 (UTC)
- It was released in some parts in October, and in other parts of the country in November. Crisco actually changed it to this forn, from " ...fanfare in October–November 1958". I also thought it somewhat odd; but no other editors said anything. We wil keep this in mind, and will ask Crisco later, prior to FAC. Also, among and amongst are synonymous. And, amongst is probably slightly old usage, not sure. Or, is it more British? May be.--Dwaipayan (talk) 18:38, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

Other stuff
I never read your user page before; I see there is a nice list of films there. I have not seen a few of those, I will definitely watch those now. I was planning to see Edgar lately, but could not find time! Did you see Argo? It has become one of my favorites lately.--Dwaipayan (talk) 18:51, 20 February 2013 (UTC)
85th Academy Awards
There is no rulebook that states that the Best Actor should be listed on the left and the Best Actress on the right. So there is nothing wrong with any my edits, so I kindly suggest you to stop reverting them. If you have any concerns, you can always use the talk page. Thank you. --smarojit (buzz me) 06:40, 25 February 2013 (UTC)
- When there is no "rulebook", you see what has been historically. Please make your comments on the talk page. Thanks. Mr.Atoz (talk) 06:48, 25 February 2013 (UTC)
Clint Eastwood
If you are interested in getting some of Clint's older movies up to GA status let me know, I have two biographies with a lot of info on some of his films.♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 17:11, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
- Wow, I would love to do that. Which of his movies do you mean btw? --smarojit (buzz me) 03:09, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
- I like his older movies better, anything 60s and 70s. I wrote most of his article but I'm concerned about nominating it for FA as I think I'll have to shorten it..♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 10:13, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
- I am not that familiar with his pre-90's films. I am a huge fan of his directorial ventures though... especially Unforgiven, Bridges of Madison County, Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby etc etc etc... --smarojit (buzz me) 11:33, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
- As a director yeah, but as an actor he was cooler back in his prime of course.♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 16:05, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
- Haha, yes. Do you have good sources for Million Dollar Baby or Unforgiven? --smarojit (buzz me) 05:18, 2 March 2013 (UTC)

Vidya Balan
Why not? Rajeshbieee (talk) 08:16, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
- Because films that are not complete are not listed in the filmography. If we had to list, there would be 12 malayalam films and a handful of Tamil films in the filmography, but none of them were completed. So what's the point? --smarojit (buzz me) 08:43, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
To be frank, Vidya never signed 12 malayalam films, but shooting of 2 films happened and they are Chakram and Kalari Vikraman and Chakram was shelved while Kalari Vikraman was completed and still awaiting release due to financial issues. But you can always update a non released or shelved films in an actors filmography as principal photography was done.Rajeshbieee (talk) 05:40, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
- Well, several reliable sources provided in the article say that she was signed for 12 Malayalam films post Chakram, and not one mentions Kalari Vikraman. Do you have any reliable source to prove your statement? --smarojit (buzz me) 06:49, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

Hi smaro! How are you? Well chopra's FAC is going very slow. I didn't find your thoughts on the review page. Please, it would be very helpful if you reflect to it once. Cheers!Prashant ✉ 15:29, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
RE: Collaboration
I think there is a template at the top of my page that explicity says: "This user is in college. This user may be away or inactive for varying periods of time, especially if he has exams. I ignored multiple messages those days. Don't take it personal. Tbhotch.™ Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 18:26, 24 March 2013 (UTC)

I think it is time that you move Kajol to peer review.--Dwaipayan (talk) 22:37, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
- Smaro! I would be glad to help you get Kajol to FA. (P.S. I also want to see Rani Mukerji as FA.) -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 20:06, 1 February 2013 (UTC)
- This was the original version: "..Kapoor's early years in the film industry were marked with success, including a Filmfare nomination for Asoka (2001) and the melodrama Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001), which became one of her biggest commercial successes to date." However, it was later tweaked by User:Wikipedian Penguin to its current version. What do you recommend? -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 05:29, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
- I like your version a lot better! LOL... Thanks Smaro! :) BTW, I just find it weird how there were some articles nominated after Kapoor, yet they went on to have a shorter FAC. Balan's FAC lasted quite a while too. -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 05:41, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot Smaro! Much appreciated! :) BTW do you have plans of taking any other Bollywood-related articles to FA? -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 18:58, 3 March 2013 (UTC)
- Most definitely! :) Really want to see Rani Mukerji and Kajol's articles as FA! Would also love to work on Amitabh Bachchan, but that will be tough! -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 00:54, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
- I'm cool with that! Except for maybe an artistry section and some tweaks, most of the work is already done! -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 19:45, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for this! Let me know if you come across anything else! -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 01:43, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
- Have you seen what's happening on Kapoor's article? It's very frustrating and upsetting! -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 05:07, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi! First, I did not realize you are back editing. Welcome back, happy editing!
The thread of posts at ANI (you left me the link) is ridiculous. I'd say don't even get bothered by it. Best policy sto neglect this. --Dwaipayan (talk) 19:04, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
You are back then? Very good news!♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 15:19, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks, I have been back for three weeks now. Was working on Rani Mukerji's article, and some films from the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. :) --smarojit (buzz me) 15:23, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
Excellent work on the Cannes films, can you add the films to the lists like List of Mexican films of 2013?♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 16:16, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
