Intervention in the SDSM article
[edit]Hi. The user: Mastersource is adding misleading information to the page of Social Democratic Union of Macedonia which is obvious right-wing propaganda. Could you please help me fix it as they wouldn't step down? Thank you. Macedonicus (talk) 10:12, 5 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Macedonicus: Thanks for contacting me. I have paid careful attention on the whole incident and it seems that you should have contacted me before entering into verbal or edit war with the user. Disruptive editing across articles on topics in Macedonian politics is nothing new, as some users have been deliberately coming to illustrate their point on the English Wikipedia since the outbreak of the political crisis. Similar incidents have occurred, at least, in the articles on VMRO-DPMNE, Kumanovo clashes, 2015 Macedonian protests and 2016 Macedonian protests, which prompted reactions by the users working on improving their quality. We have always tried to resolve such incidents in a kind manner on the discussion pages of the articles in question but sometimes it was not possible to get over with the disruptive editing and the help was requested from administrators (please see WP:AN).
- For now, I have reverted the information added by the user and explained my opinion on the discussion page based on my experience in handling similar edit wars in the aforementioned articles. However, be aware that my comment is not written in stone and may be overturned by other users so that the content be re-added. It is also impossible to censor the user from adding the information at any price if decently high quality of citation is attained. Once there is an established reason for removing the content on the discussion page, its re-adding without proper improvement can be safely removed from the article.
- My friendly advice is to always remain calm and kind with the other users, refrain from using overly abrasive words, and ask for help from more experienced editors if needed. Take in mind that users from other countries, who cannot recognise the sensitivity of the topic as we do in our country, may notice your reaction and overtake sanctions against your behaviour before even getting introduced with the substance of the problem (note that the movement pays considerable attention to harassment as a focal problem within the community). The sockpuppet investigation you filed is also not the right way to handle this problem. You can reach me at kiril.simeonovskigmail.com if you need further help. Best regards.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 18:17, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Larry Epstein moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Larry Epstein, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Gorbachev, Carter and Tereshkova
[edit]Three "living legends", no doubt. They have been and should be honoured. Carter, in particular, for cleaning up the Chalk River mess. But that's as true today, five years ago or next week as it will be when they die aged something. This idea that the appropriate time to remind others these people did notable things is right after they die seems silly, and even sillier when the blurb omits all the things in favour of simply adding a nationality, age and job description, like every RD's opening line does. Why not on their birthdays, or when they fall ill, or any other time they make news for something RD noms aren't expressly designed to cover?
To me (and many others), the death itself should be evaluated at death. Are there ramifications beside remembrance? A cause more unusual than the usual? Even official days of mourning or a state funeral are something. Without these details, Gorbachev, Carter and Tereshkova have nothing even a bot couldn't autoblurb about literally everyone here.
In the future, if you or anyone wants more support for a death blurb, include something even remotely unique and interesting, please. InedibleHulk (talk) 23:45, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
- @InedibleHulk: Thanks for reaching out regarding this. I'll have in mind it when nominating future death blurbs. Best regards.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 00:25, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
