I am asking you because this is important - there are WP:BLP and WP:MINOR issues at stake.

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ayrton Cable

In short then there are 3.5 !votes for deletion and 0 to keep it. That is consensus to delete, not "no consensus".

Please review this yourself or I will otherwise have to do it properly. Again, this matters becuase of WP:BLP and WP:MINOR. We don't need another Jacob Barnett. Thank you for you considerations.

And finally, if it is "no consensus", please remember that "no consensus" defaults to delete when minors are involved. This kid needs appropriate child protection (likely by stopping him writing his own autobiography). Claudebone (talk) 05:36, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This really bothers me as an inappropriate shocking close. He's 13 for goodness sake. Please reconsider or this is likely to end at DRV. MINOR is not the right link (that is minor edits) but I found https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Minors_and_persons_judged_incompetent nLegacypac (talk) 05:40, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Could you point to where it says that "no consensus" should default to "delete" when minors are involved? The only case I am aware of this is when the subject requests deletion. As for your vote count, the fact that Jim1138 cited WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS in a portion of his argument does not invalidate the rest of it. And how exactly is Legacypac's !vote based on policy? He just calls it not notable and proceeds to mock the creator. -- King of 06:25, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Whether or not policy currently exists, I suggest this case (and others) demonstrates the need for such a policy for child protection reasons. Jim1138's argument was entirely WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS. I suggest that it was obvious that Legacypac's !vote was based on WP:GNG, but he presumably thought that was so obvious that he really didn't need to have stated it as such. There is a subtlety in understanding nuances of AFD debates that you seem to be missing. Claudebone (talk) 06:44, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Claudeborne: What evidence do you have that 888AlexanderAranda888 and Smphillips912 are socks? Smphillips912 made fairly minor edits. How do you connect the two? You are making accusation without evidence here. Perhaps you should file an wp:SPI. Maybe read WP:Assume good faith? You were warned here about your sock accusation here. After his note, you added further formatting which Uncle Milty removed here.
You think Aryton Cable/888AlexanderAranda888 wrote the article? Read the article, in an early state before being edited by others here. If indeed it is Aryton Cable, he has an amazing grasp of the English language and editing Wikipedia for a 13 year-old.
Interesting how a photo added by Cable/888 was deleted. Why wasn't Cable able to get a photo released? Perhaps Cable and 888 not the same individuals?
Aryton Cable is clearly a public figure. He fits with Wikipedia:Who is a low-profile individual as a high-profile individual. Why should Cable be "protected"?
What about Jacob Barnett that we "don't need another" of? Nothing horrible seems to have happened to Barnett per his article. Sounds like Barnett is doing well for himself. Just want Cable to stay home and be a "normal" kid?
As for OTHERCRAPEXISTS, I said that there are many other articles on minors on Wikipedia. Your use of OCE would imply that you believe all the many articles on minors are CRAP and should be deleted? How many of these have you added AfDs to? Out of curiosity, why are you focused on Ayrton Cable?
BTW, you did not notify the article creator and (possibly) major contributor as recommended (but not required) for courtesy per WP:AfD#After nominating: Notify interested projects and editors 888AlexanderAranda888 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) and Smphillips912 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log).
A bit of wp:forumshopping here? First two rather sneaky attempts to "delete" via redirect: 1 2, then an AfD, now this? It appears that King of Heart disagrees with your assessment. Off to the next forum?
"Subtlety in understanding nuances of AFD debates"? You don't like it that you didn't "win"? Jim1138 (talk) 09:23, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It would help if we didn't have absurd and angry ranty off-topic contributions from those so lacking in basic understanding of WP:HOWWPWORKS that they tried to use WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS in a deletion !vote. Let's just say if an SPA smells like a sock it usually is. Claudebone (talk) 09:47, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Claudebone: A major issue here is that you have repeatedly accused others of socking without addressing questions made to you about your evidence for this. So, please answer. Jim1138 (talk) 10:33, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
(Personal attack removed) It's quite clear that we have 2 SPAs, with non-overlapping histories, who are obsessed with 1 13 year old kid. I'd put my fucking mortgage on them both being the same person and both being Master Cable. You're not being helpful here to Wikipedia, which is deeply concerning. Claudebone (talk) 11:50, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
1: WP:CIVILITY. 2: Next time you suspect sockpuppets, file a proper SPI instead of using formatting to shout your accusations from the rooftops. If an SPI had found socks involved in this AFD the outcome would have likely been different. Shouted accusations in a discussion will often have the opposite from the desired effect. --| Uncle Milty | talk | 12:05, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
There's no need for an SPI, partly because as SPAs they shuold ave been discounted, partly because a (Personal attack removed) admin can use their initiative and instinct and not WP:WIKILAWYER and WP:BEAJOBSWORTH and follow the letter of the rules instead of the spirit - WP:IAR. A (Personal attack removed) admin should have dealt with this, which is why I was asking user:King of Hearts to reconsider his actions because some (personal attack deserved but resisted) came along started pointing out irrelevancies designed to obfuscate and confuse. Claudebone (talk) 12:29, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Just to clarify - I did not personally attack user:King of Hearts, despite my comments being disgracefully edited above - I am still appealing to his sense of better judgement. Claudebone (talk) 12:38, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Claudebone: I find your language and behaviour quite shocking. 888AlexanderAranda888 (talk) 13:36, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A SPA can still make a valid policy-based argument for or against deletion. A confirmed sock will have their comment completely struck from the discussion. That's the difference. --| Uncle Milty | talk | 13:42, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@888AlexanderAranda888 - the feeling is mutual but let's put it this way - I'm not an SPA with both an unhealthy obsession with a 13 year old boy and a mysterious twin who agrees with everything I say, am I? Claudebone (talk) 14:08, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Claudebone: I am in no way an SPA, and I find your accusations non-constructive, therefore I will not engage in conversation with you again. I ask you to kindly refrain from tagging me in further posts. 888AlexanderAranda888 (talk) 14:26, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@888AlexanderAranda888: I am not talking to you - I am talking about you. Overwhelming evidence suggests you ARE indeed an SPA, personally intimate with Master Cable's father, with an unhealthy obsession with a 13 year old boy and a mysterious twin who agrees with everything you say. This is ringing so many alarm bells particularly related to WP:MINOR that it's almost impossible to hear myself think. Claudebone (talk) 14:43, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

That seems to be a rather uncivil way to put it? Jim1138 (talk) 19:46, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Claudebone: Again, you fail to respond to a request for evidence for your sock accusation. SPA smells like a sock it usually is is not evidence. Let's look at the evidence:
Paulvincentcable - perhaps there is a public clue to his identity here: "Paul Vincent Cable" (PVC) Googling returns http://www.ensoimpact.com/#!people/cq1w and https://www.linkedin.com/in/paulvincentcable PVC has made seven edits, all but the first with an edit summary. All simple edits and all but the first via mobile. And PVC corrected a fact here that 888AlexanderAranda888 missed.
888AlexanderAranda888 "Alexander Arada", a fairly uncommon name, I would think. Googling returns http://www.alexanderaranda.com/ who, like Ayrton, resides in London and, unlike Ayrton, is a computer expert. Their pictures don't look anything like each other BTW. Arada does a fair job with linking in the initial article, has an excellent command of English which, I doubt that 13 YO Ayrton has. (Watch Ayrton's video). Ayrton's photo added by Arada was deleted and never replaced. Seems odd that Ayrton doesn't even have a digital camera?
Also, PVC missed an obvious link to Ayrton making this edit to Vince Cable.
Their "personas" seem quite well compartmentalized. Or, more likely, they really are two people. Have you even done your homework here? Doing basic checks would seem to be a civil and courteous first step. Would you care to supply counter arguments - with real evidence this time? Jim1138 (talk) 19:46, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oh For fuck sake Jim1138. Even if your pathetic screed is true and we have a separate bunch of puppets, it doesn't stop them from being WP:SPAs, it doesn't stop them from being conflicted, and it doesn't stop their bizarre obsession with a 13 year old child. This has everything to do with child protection. It is entirely inappropriate to create articles about 13 year old kids who are nobodies and with whom you have a WP:COI). For you this is solely about you "winning" your pathetic little "war" with me after I correctly pointed out that your "argument" in the AFD discussion wasn't worth the bytes it was written in. For me this is about ensuring proper child protection policies. There is a VAST gulf of competence between us, and while I have noble aims you are just being pathetic. I wonder whether you know Master Cable too?
I am still appealing to user:King of Hearts's better judgement and can see the awful and anti-WP behaviour of [user:Jim1138]]. So, user:King of Hearts I ask will kindly reconsider and revise his unfortunate mistake in closing the AFD wrongly. Claudebone (talk) 05:39, 1 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Meanwhile, I note that user:Jim1138 continues to beahvae innappropriately by vandalising my comments for perceived (not intended) personal attacks. I am astounded at how much restraint I am actually showing. Claudebone (talk) 05:49, 1 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please see the discussion here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/N Mohamed Yahssir. To be included on Wikipedia, a topic must have significant coverage in reliable sources, which this person appears to lack. -- King of 04:39, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Question regarding "courtesy blanking" an AFD discussion

[edit]

I was wondering what was up with this? I'm not challenging it, or claiming it was wrong, I was just wondering why it happened. It is something to do with BLP policy? Hallward's Ghost (Kevin) (My talkpage) 14:41, 10 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It was suggested by AfD participants. -- King of 04:40, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Being blocked by your 'bot' on Wiki2

[edit]

Hello 'King of Hearts?', I recently (in the last couple of weeks) had two of my five computers go down at the same time! I booted up another ('backup system') A Chromebook running chrome OS and used my ID that I use on Wikipedia (not Wiki2) assuming my IP address remained the same, but possibly not.

My real life name is James Preston Thomas, I was using a username of 'Siccarii' on Wikipedia and I assummed the same login info would be used on Wiki2, but possibly not. I tried logging in as a new user but was still blocked in that effort. My assumption is that either my IP addy changed with the new system online (which is networked with 3 other devices (An Android Netbook, another Chromebook and my Windows based Nokia cell phone) as well as 5 other computers and 4 other cell phones that I no longer use.

I have absolutely NOTHING to hide (other than my bank pin #) and invite you and/or Wiki2 to ask me anything or investigate my online activities in any way you please. My cell phone number is 650-720-3893, I live in Half Moon Bay, California. I could give you my password, but you guys didn't want me to the last time I spoke on Wiki. I value my ability to contribute to any of the things on Wiki or it's associated apps that might be useful to resolving problems, errors or conflicts. My primary email is siccarii@gmail.com (though I have at least 5 others I rarely use) and I hope I can resolve this mistaken blocking without any difficulties to either of us. I also am known as 'siccarii the source ©' when I 'write'.

It wasn't very clear where to send this request so I selected your name from a list of about 5 because it sounded the most creative. I've been on computers since 1981 and not at all a novice, but haven't been on an IRC or whatever is used here for many years. I didn't even know they were still being used. Please, ask me anything, I am not a malicious interloper nor someone who would try to cause problems for Wiki as I use it very frequently! Oh, I'm a male, 73 years old (going on 35 or 40), not gay, divorced twice, 4 living children, the oldest is 51 (and 1 deceased son). I can give you my address, serial #, make and models of all my several computers, my carrier is Comcast (Xfinity). I'm also on Facebook, Google+, Twitter (reluctantly), Yahoo, Pandora, Myspace, Last.fm and many dozens of others. I normally use James Preston Thomas or siccarii as a user name but in the case of Wikipedia, a Capital letter was mandatory for the beginning of that 'string', so 'Siccarii'.

Thank you for listening, Jim 2601:646:C100:EF:9582:7470:625C:5B91 (talk) 00:29, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I think there is a problem with your decision to close Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rafik Yousef as keep. Two editors !voted to keep (including the page creator) and two suggested deleting (namely me and the nominator). Could you tell my why you didn't re-list the debate or close as no consensus? AusLondonder (talk) 23:32, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't pay attention to the timestamps. Given how late they came in, it probably would have been a better idea to relist. But in general, if I see a string of deletes followed by a string of keeps, I give more weight towards the later votes as it shows a trend towards a consensus, implying that the delete !voters have had ample time to respond and convince others to join them but failed to do so. But here I wasn't sufficiently careful about the time when those !votes were added, so I've changed the result to "no consensus." -- King of 07:20, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
