Your edits

[edit]

I'm concerned not only that your primary motive is to write an article about John J. Ensminger, whose notability isn't conclusively established through objective reliable sources, but that you also are introducing his name and publications into multiple Wikipedia articles. It looks like the intent may be promotional, and I'm going to request further eyes on your edits from other contributors. Thank you, 76.248.149.47 (talk) 03:34, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

ANI discussion

[edit]

Hello. There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. 76.248.149.47 (talk) 03:48, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

On reflection, I've withdrawn the discussion at ANI, but have removed some of the links you've added to other articles. It appears as if WP:COI is a concern, and perhaps WP:AUTOBIOGRAPHY is relevant. Please feel free to discuss this here, or at the talk page for John J. Ensminger. I notice that earlier you removed maintenance templates re: primary sources and notability, but the same issues remain, which is why I restored them. Thank you, 76.248.149.47 (talk) 12:09, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

[edit]

Hi, King.parker3. In keeping with Wikipedia's guidelines and conventions regarding talk page formatting, I've relocated a recent post of yours. In the event you have difficulty locating the post, you may click here to be taken to the post directly. Regards Tiderolls 09:01, 14 October 2012 (UTC) I have included more than one citation to Mr. Ensminger's published articles and books that I believe are independent of the subject. I have to assume that by subject you mean Mr. Ensminger. For instance, the last citation by Jan Shubert who cites his definition of service dog is by a person who is independent of Ensminger and the several citations about his article on the therapeutic significance of the civil commitment hearing are by persons who are independent of Ensminger and one of them, Mr. Wexler, has a biography in Wikipedia. As I mention, Mr. Wexler quotes the entire Ensminger, Liguori article in his book. If these are not citations of the type you are looking for then I do indeed completely fail to understand what it is that you mean by a reliable, independant source. King.parker3 (talk) 04:10, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited John J. Ensminger, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page St. John's University (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:51, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Supreme Court's dog sniff cases

[edit]

Hi there, I came across your profile quite by happenstance. I see that you are familiar with Mr. Ensminger's work... I've just written a pair of articles on Florida v. Jardines and Florida v. Harris. I suspect they will be getting a lot of traffic tomorrow evening (er, actually, tonight (Tues)), from 7pm to 3am, because they will be featured on the Wikipedia home page in the "Did You Know" section. If you have a moment, I'd love a critical set of eyes on the articles. I plan flesh out more of the arguments in Harris tomorrow, Feel free to provide raw feedback and I'll incorporate your comments, or you can make edits directly, whichever you'd prefer.

I've come across two relevant articles or Mr. Ensminger's: "Cueing and Probable Cause: Research May Increase Defense Attacks on and Judicial Skepticism of Detection Dog Evidence", and "Canine Tracking and Scent Identification: Factoring Science into the Threshold for Admissibility", and hope to add some material and cites tomorrow morning. I also noticed that he wrote a recent article for the New York Law Journal, "U.S. Supreme Court to Hear Two Police Canine Cases in Fall Term", but alas, I don't have an account on that site... If you happen to have a copy of that article, I'd love to give it a read.... I can also be reached at my gmail account, which is the same as my username.

Sorry for the short notice, but it's ok if you don't have time, for I'm sure the articles will get a whole lot more traffic after the Supreme Court's decisions are announced. Thanks! Grollτech (talk) 09:15, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Tadeusz A. Jezierski

[edit]

Hello, King.parker3. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Tadeusz A. Jezierski".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Tadeusz A. Jezierski}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 19:28, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

How to alert other editors

[edit]

When someone is posting on your talk page you get an automatic notification. That notification is a red square followed by a long yellow box (for most browsers and settings). In all other cases you have to alert the other editor in some way, either by "ping" or by mentioning them in a link. This will result in just the red box notification on that users pages. So even if you respond on your talk page you still have to alert the editor you are addressing. If you want to get hold of me you write {{ping|W.carter}} resulting in @W.carter: or [[User:W.carter|W.carter]] resulting in W.carter and sign with the four "squiggles" ~~~~ at the end and hit "Save". There are some more, but these are the basics. And when you ask something on someone's talk page, you also create a new section so your question don't get entangled in some other conversation. If you are having a conversation with another user on some page, it is also customary to add that page to your Watchlist in case someone in the discussion forgets to alert.

The policy is to leave an answer on the same page as the question, keep the conversation intact unless there is some reason for moving it elsewhere. Like complicated questions at the Teahouse can be continued on the appropriate talk page. w.carter-Talk 14:51, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

thanks

[edit]

Many thanks Nthep for your help. There is something about a redirect that I do not understand...not surprising as I am getting too old for this and missed entirely the fact that there exists the "New section" heading on a User page so I even had to ask how to respond to your reply.King.parker3 (talk) 18:58, 1 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. [edit]

Hello, King.parker3. It has been over six months since you last edited your Articles for Creation draft article submission, "Scent Lineups".

In accordance with our policy that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. 1989 (talk) 14:14, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article Complex structured finance transactions has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Simple dictionary definition.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
