Strampop
[edit]Hi Kilbosh.
I am sorry if I offended you by suggesting that there may be some sockpuppetry associated with Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Strampop. I meant no personal offense to yourself, but the manner of voting is suggestive of sockpuppetry. Please see WP:SOCK for details of this.
You may also wish to see the neologism article, to understand what a neologism is - describing an as-yet un defined niche is exactly what inventing a neologism is. Wikipedia is a secondary source; it is not a location for original work, nor is it somewhere to start a new term. See Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:No original research for further information on this.
If you have any further questions, by all means, please let me know via my talk page. Regards, Proto||type 15:05, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hi again Kilbosh. Thanks for getting back to me. Firstly, as I gather from the article, stramb (pronounced "strump") is a Maltese word meaning strange. There is no article on 'strampop', 'stramb', or anything similar on the Maltese wikipedia (see here, which would be strange if this were really such a nationally-pervasive phenomenon. Also note the difference between a protologism and a neologism. I have retracted my sockpuppet statement, however. Again, I meant no offence; you must be aware that a list of IP addresses voting is often suggestive of sockpuppetry. Proto||type 15:35, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- i urge you to look at my user contributions if you seriously think i'm a sock puppet. as far as the vote, yes i am an imclusionist, but i am also a sensible human being. this was obviously a completely made up word with absolutely no verifiability. i made other votes that day... all for inclusion. Reasons for deletion
[edit]See my closing comments at the bottom of the AfD page. Don't take it personally. If it's impossible to independently verify that a thing exists, it cannot have an article in Wikipedia. --Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 14:12, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
notability for genres
[edit]I noticed you wrote something about the need for music genre guidelines on the talk page Wikipedia talk:Notability (music). There, I started some work on guidelines - it's just some rough ideas though. Please take a look at it and provide comments Spearhead 16:03, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
Antifeminism
[edit]Hi, just to inform you that I've created a template for that userbox. Because of the German Wiki policy now effective, I had to move it to my personal space. Anyone may still use it though, by using this code: [[User:VodkaJazz/Userboxes/Antifeminism]]. └ VodkaJazz / talk ┐ 11:22, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Mmsa logo.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Mmsa logo.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. (ESkog)(Talk) 18:12, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- There are two easy options here. Are you the copyright holder, or are you in contact with the copyright holder, such that the image might be released under a free license? Or are you uploading the logo to use under our non-free content rules, which allow us to use copyrighted material in limited circumstances? (ESkog)(Talk) 18:26, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- Okay. What you need to do is have the copyright holder e-mail permissions-en@wikimedia.org clearly stating which image(s) they want to release, and what license they want to release the images under. Then you'll be all set. (ESkog)(Talk) 18:12, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
MMSA listed at Redirects for discussion
[edit]An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect MMSA. Since you had some involvement with the MMSA redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you wish to do so. scope_creepTalk 16:08, 17 February 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Albert Marshall (author)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Albert Marshall (author) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.m3p.com.mt/wiki/Albert_Marshall. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Celebritynetworth.com as a source
[edit]Hi Kilbosh. I noticed that you recently used celebritynetworth.com as a source for biographical information in Richard Ruccolo. Please note that the general consensus as expressed at WP:RSP is that it does not meet the reliable sourcing criteria for the inclusion of personal information in such articles. If you disagree, let's discuss it. Thanks.--Hipal/Ronz (talk) 18:01, 17 February 2020 (UTC)
- @Hipal: thank you - that is a very useful resource. Kilbosh talk 18:33, 17 February 2020 (UTC)
Art+Feminism
[edit]Hi Kilbosh - I'm writing because I've noticed that you've been making some really valuable contributions to articles about Malta and notable Maltese people, especially in the field of culture. By way of introduction, I am a member of Wikimedia Community Malta, a Wiki User Group based in Malta. We are a small group of volunteers who work to improve Malta-related content on Wikipedia and to encourage more people to contribute to Wikimedia projects.
I would like to bring an upcoming edit-a-thon on the theme of Art+Feminism to your attention and to invite you to participate in the edit-a-thon. During the edit-a-thon we will be editing or creating articles about women who have contributed to the arts in Malta. During previous Art+Feminism edit-a-thons we created or edited articles about artists such as Isabelle Borg, Rebecca Cremona, Julie Apap, and Maria de Dominici, amongst others.
The edit-a-thon will take place on 6th and 7th March. More information is available on the here and here, but please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions. We hope that you will be able to join us! --Nevborg (talk) 09:44, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks @Nevborg: - I'm very intrigued by the idea. Regrettably I won't be in Malta on those dates, but if there's anything I can help with remotely I'd be keen to contribute. Best of luck for the initiative. Kilbosh talk 11:14, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you @Kilbosh: We encourage people to contribute remotely, even if they're unable to attend the sessions themselves. We have set up a dashboard where we can keep track of everybody who is actively participating, the articles that we're working on, and the edits we're carrying out. If you'd like, I would be happy to add you as an editor on the dashboard for you to see what everybody is working and for your contributions to also be logged. --Nevborg (talk) 14:46, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
