Your contributed article, Overview of the Bible
[edit]Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Overview of the Bible. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - The Holy Bible. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at The Holy Bible - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Stickee (talk) 10:26, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

- Can I take it that rediversion of broken links and addition of (External links) to lspace.org will be accepted? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kendroche (talk • contribs) 21:49, August 7, 2010
- Uh, what? — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 22:35, 7 August 2010 (UTC)
- I redivert the broken links that point to Minor Discworld Concepts to L-Space wiki and add L-Space to the External Links on each page. The other option is get rid of the link which would be detrimental to the whole idea of a central knowledge source.Where is WikiResearch? (talk) 22:53, 7 August 2010 (UTC)
- Don't go around changing links like Minor Discworld concepts to Minor Discworld concepts or something like that. That'll come off as linkspammy. Just unlink it and add L-Space to the external links. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 02:59, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- Will do.Where is WikiResearch? (talk) 07:04, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
Um, just so you know, this sort of edit was not what I had in mind. That was unambiguous advertising. External links go in the external links section, usually down at the bottom of an article. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 13:54, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, and copyright symbols (®, etc.) aren't used here either. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 13:55, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
WP Cryptozoology in the Signpost

This is an excellent opportunity to draw attention to your efforts and attract new members to the project. Would you be willing to participate in an interview? If so, here are the questions for the interview. Just add your response below each question and feel free to skip any questions that you don't feel comfortable answering. Also, if you know anyone else who would like to participate in the interview, please share this with them. Have a great day. -Mabeenot (talk) 16:36, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Feedback regarding your recent edit to Extraterrestrial hypothesis
[edit]Hello. As you requested, I am leaving feedback for your changes to the article specified. Your edit added some useful information to the article, but as you said, some editing is needed. I have adjusted your edit to improve factual accuracy and grammar. The subject is not disputed by scientists. It is rejected virtually always. Only an immeasurably small portion of scientists buy into this theory. Less than 1% if I'm not mistaken. Based on studies, there has been no better evidence other than blurry/doctored photographs, hoaxes, and eyewitness testimony from people who saw something they don't understand, and then jumped to a conclusion too quickly. Negative evidence includes the fact that an unusually high amount of the UFO sightings occur in the USA, as well as conspiracy theories against the United States Government, indicating it to be a cultural phenomenon rather than a genuine theory. See the UFO conspiracy theory article for more information on that. Otherwise, I am open to feedback regarding my own edit. Thanks. -- IRP ☎ 21:09, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thank You. This is exactly the sort of input that I was looking for. I am still working on the framework for the Religionist and Conspiracist sections, but if you have more to add to this section then please do. (a couple of points that I'm stuck on are: the section title:- posit:position / placing... geography was used as a stopgap; to fit in with the other titles and an alternative for 'religionist' - could offend some people).
- The section is more a critisism of the scientific, religionistic and conspiracist theories rather than an advocation of ETH.

Mentoring
[edit]Gosh... Im not looking for folks to help teach. Just people to help out like any other newbie... mostly with navigating WP. These are very advanced Business English students, so I dont expect too many problems with grammar or such... more with how to present information... 5 Pillars kind of stuff. As their English teacher, Im ultimately responsible. Their first assignment, as we will discuss tomorrow in class, is to poke around WP and find ways to make contact with other Wikipedians. Im following sociocultural theory here... in order to learn (a language) you have to immerse yourself in the appropriate situation. List of best selling video games reliable sources
[edit]Hi. I'm not quite sure what you mean by "I cannot find a template for the good faith revert". If you mean the edit notice it can be found here: Template:Editnotices/Page/List of best-selling video games. Bear in mind that only admins and accountcreators can edit edit notices, so you'll have to post an edit request on Template Talk:Editnotices/Page/List of best-selling video games. As this is the case, if you want to start a list of acceptable and unacceptable to add to I'd suggest you first discuss it at Talk: List of best-selling video games, not only so that the list represents consensus, but also because adding new entries to a list of accepted sources is not something admins should be doing every other day. Alphathon™ (talk) 18:06, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, I see. Well it isn't a template or anything, it's an add-on called twinkle. For more info see Wikipedia:TW. It can also be used to revert vandalism with a similar link. Alphathon™ (talk) 18:23, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

What is a "mythtake"?
[edit]Hello! I noticed you added "mythtake an error in Wiki's correctionability algorithm." (I think your original phrasing was slightly different) to the mistake disambiguation page. Can you give a little more explanation of what a "mythtake" is? The link on the mistake disambig page goes to mythology, which didn't make much sense to me based on the explanation.
I searched around a bit on google and found the word used as a portmanteau of "myth" and "mistake"; other than this I didn't find much. Thanks! Scientific29 (talk) 01:18, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
- So an instance of this ([[Port]]ugese in place of [[Portugese]]) would be called a mythtake? I'm not sure I understand. Scientific29 (talk) 03:18, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
- So "mythtake" is a word that you yourself invented? That's is fine, but does the term then meet WP:Verifiability? If so we can make an article about the word; otherwise I don't think it would be appropriate to include the word. Scientific29 (talk) 22:13, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
- Ok. That is all fine, but such an item doesn't belong on a disambiguation page, which is in the article namespace. I am going to remove it if that is alright. Scientific29 (talk) 23:06, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
