Rodrigue Beaubois

Was Rodrigue Beaubois ever officially recalled by the Mavericks? Dominique Jones was, but I never saw anything about Beaubois. If you can point me to a source, I'd appreciate it. Zagalejo^^^ 04:54, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

Well, Beaubois is still listed here. I dunno... Zagalejo^^^ 18:48, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

Formations

Hallo! Well, I leant myself today! You have to download Inkscape so you can edit .svg files. So then I went to commons, I found the Empty_soccer_line-up.svg file, I downloaded it and I just had to edit it using Inkscape. It was pretty easy, although I had a problem creating an invisible text box, so just be careful to avoid that. If you need more information, just tell me. Escorpión Canalla (talk) 00:09, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

Well, you have a menu on the left, don't you? If you choose the arrow (select), you can move the players around the field and their names. If you want to change the names, you select the big "A" (edit text) and you click on a name and you can change it. In order to change the colour of the shirts, you just select them and click on the colour you wish on the menu you find below the image. It's easy, but maybe you would see it clearer if someone could show you. The most "difficult" is to try to line up the players so that a winger isn't more advanced than the other and so on, but that's another matter. I hope it helped. Escorpión Canalla (talk) 01:23, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
Uhm, that sounds like you didn't download the right file. Go to commons and click on download. Then you have the URL. I couldn't download it with Firefox, so I just put the URL on Explorer and I was able to download it. Tell me if I was right here. Escorpión Canalla (talk) 01:50, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
Ok, you're welcome x). Escorpión Canalla (talk) 02:01, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, you see it's easy. It looks good and you didn't take long at all. You can improve it with little details, but I guess you didn't do it this time because you did it quick. So the full backs a bit more advanced, and some of the names closer to the shirts and more centered, and some players a bit more lined up, like if they were in the same column. But hey, I'm talking too much and you must already know all this! You did that like in 5 minutes or less, hah. So I can just say well done. Escorpión Canalla (talk) 02:20, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

Japan-Jordan

It's ok, isn't it? The Jordan goalkeeper shirt is black. That's easy to fix. Oh, and I'm seeing that the official formation deceived you. They usually make mistakes and then they fix it. I say this because the Japanese defense is actually Uchida-Konno-Yoshida-Nagatomo. But as I told you. It's easy to download your work and change these little things.

By the way, the Arabic names are such a problem. Arghh... Yesterday I had some issues with Fadel or Fadhel, Nasser or Naser and things like that. Today, for instance, Shafia or Shafi, hah. But I guess that always depends on who transcripts the names. Nothing too important. Escorpión Canalla (talk) 14:33, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

For me there's no problem if you want to do it. I can just tell you if I see something that could be mistaken. If I don't see you editing on Wikipedia during a game, should I assume you're not doing the job and I should? Just in order not to have a duplicated line-up, hah. By the way, the only thing to point out is that maybe you should write Al-Saify and not only Saify. Escorpión Canalla (talk) 15:09, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
Don't worry. If I actually learnt to do it the other day, it was because I saw no one was going to upload it and I wanted it to appear because I find it really useful, hehe. So if you do the job, that's perfect for me ;). Escorpión Canalla (talk) 15:14, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
Just a little insignificant thing. When you move the forward in the down side, the shirt neck doesn't move with the rest of the shirt. It must be a bug. To avoid this, I just copied another shirt and deleted that one. You can edit the lineups you created (if you haven't done it yet) so save time, since it's just the same but you probably already have the formations ready. Your work is good. Escorpión Canalla (talk) 17:52, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

2011 AFC Asian Cup Final

I redirected the cup final to the main page, because it is unecessary until the teams are known. If you fell you have a better reason to keep it up just tell me please.Intoronto1125 (talk) 17:56, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

The articles for the world cup finals were made during the semi-finals.
If you feel it should be up go ahead, but what I am trying to say is that its not necessary until we know for sure the teams making the final, as the information given in that article is already on the main article. Intoronto1125 (talk) 18:03, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

AFC Day 4

That's the problem with the AFC match cast - they make too many mistakes. I've watched all the matches so far and it's not the first time, and regrettably, nor the last they're going to put players wrongly in a formation. You can see they're wrong, if you don't believe me, by watching the "heat map" of every single player. But anyway it seems it's your work and I don't want to be a trouble. 2010-12 Continental Beach Volleyball Cup

Hey was just wondering if you would be interested in helping me edit this article and its sub branches. This is a qualification tournament for the 2012 Summer Olympics. Intoronto1125 (talk) 21:42, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

Thank you so much! I'm in the middle of my school year and it is difficult to catch up with the work Intoronto1125 (talk) 21:44, 12 January 2011 (UTC).
Sure go ahead! also if possible try to update the results for the African section.
This website is a good starting point: [1]. The European and North American governing bodies websites are helpful as well. The Africa and Asian ones are not.
No problem. My French is good enough to understand merci means thank you, lol.
Where in the article? as external links?

Any luck in finding results for the African and South American sub sections? Intoronto1125 (talk) 02:17, 15 January 2011 (UTC)

Why are you apologizing? Don't worry I looked but the only info I could find is from the main Fivb website. Intoronto1125 (talk) 02:19, 15 January 2011 (UTC)

Long time no talk

Hey Kante4 how is it going? any information found on the 2010-12 Continental Beach Volleyball Cup? Intoronto1125 (talk) 01:57, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

re: Match details why? (AFC Asian Cup)

The matches are designated because if they are not, people think the first match must be QF1 and edit the page incorrectly again. This duly happened 36 minutes after you edited the page, as had happened numerous times before you removed the indicators. Jlsa (talk) 20:49, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

but after the game there is always conflict, so I just do it 4-5 mins before game finishes and then edit scoreline.

Asian Winter Games

Great job in doing the articles for the Asian Winter Games! But you forgot the sources. And do you think we should list the countries that are competing in each sport on the sport's page? Anyways Kyrgyzstan is sending only 2 biathletes, but they are scheduled for the 4X7.5 relay in Biathlon. Intoronto1125 (talk) 22:51, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the offer and helping me police that article. I might have classes during midweek games so I'll notify you in advance when those occur. Thanks again! Xboxandhalo2 (talk) 02:18, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Just fyi, Mesut Oezil wore #26 #19 in the first La Liga game, as Rafael van der Vaart was yet to be transferred then. The current notes on Oezil could be a little misleading. Xboxandhalo2 (talk) 19:38, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Realmadrid.com's timing is never very accurate. If you want to standardize the timing of all events, I recommended syncing them with the referee reports, like here, but those are often well off as well, sometimes off by 5' or more. Because of the often large differences in the timing among various reports, I have just used the TV game timer for all the matches so far. Benzema's goal today was clearly scored in the 6th minute. Fantastic setup by di Maria! Xboxandhalo2 (talk) 05:23, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

I have to miss the first half of tomorrow's game vs. Lyon due to class. Do you think you can update the match details for tomorrow's match? Xboxandhalo2 (talk) 17:47, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for uploadind and updating the tennis tournaments' draws. But for the next time, could you put the tennis players names between brackets? Even if the article doesn't exist yet, it might in the future and the links will be already made. Thank you Saulopro (talk) 23:39, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

2011 All England

Quick question about the edit that you did the draw sheet for Men's and Mixed Doubles. Does adding the {{Nowrap etc. }} as you did with Kunchala Voravichitchaikul adjust either the text or the box itself so that flag and boths names appear on the same line?--SargentIV (talk) 05:25, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

I think that we should delete these articles... And what do you think? PL Alvarez Talk 13:31, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

Could you be so kind and add the qualifiction rounds for the next challengers in Kyoto, Sarajevo and Santiago, because I think this is also a part of a tennis tournament and not only the main draws are (even if it is only a challenger event that is taking place). Thanks in advance whatever your decision will be. Catgamer Catgamer (talk) 08:59, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
Kante, when do you think a decision will be done? Catgamer (talk) 19:48, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
Another question that I Have regarding that discussion is, why there is such a problem in including challenger qualifiers to the actual tournament, because I think if people are not interested in there outcome they only look at the main draw of the qualifier , but I think there are also some who also want to see how the qualifying developed that led to the main draw. (I do not want to offend , so do not understand me wrong and if you feel it is an offense against you, Kante , sorry, it is not meant in that way.) Catgamer (talk) 20:07, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Tennis

The draws aren't exempt from having a sufficient lead which covers the scope the article, I get that its a draw and who beat who, that bit I'm not complaining about, however what event its apart of when the draw was held, what surface it was played on should be included. You'd probably argue List of 30 Rock episodes doesn't require an explanation in the lead of what 30 Rock is because its covered in the 30 Rock article. Afro (Talk) 12:18, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

I'm just following the MOS, see WP:LEAD. The addition of {{Main}} does not mean that we should not exclude information which adequately describes the article. The article should be explained for the random user who strolls across the article, Wiki has the random article link in the top corner for a reason, so that Users can stroll across any article in the mainspace, if they were to stroll across the draw articles they wouldn't understand firstly that its a tennis article nor would they understand when it took place. It might be repetitive but its for the users benefit who aren't well versed in the articles. Afro (Talk) 12:31, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
I don't think the point of "its been done for such and such" is a correct mindset to have on Wikipedia, I've supported my argument with MOS, as mentioned above in WP:LEAD the article should describe the scope of the article, the scope also includes when the tournament took place and what sport their competing in, I don't know why there is such a fight against this Guideline. I also haven't seen you present any policy or guideline which says what I'm doing is correct, WP:SUMMARY which I think this constitutes as or closely to mentions it should stand-alone. Afro (Talk) 12:50, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
Maybe we should ask a more experienced editor like an FLC director for example. Afro (Talk) 12:51, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
I've pointed to clear guidelines that clearly say how to base the lead, it quite frankly isn't my fault if you're going by personal preference instead of guidelines, and if you want my opinion the template {{Main}} is grossly misused by the Tennis WikiProject, it cclearly says in the template its for sections not whole articles. Afro (Talk) 16:25, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
My issue isn't with the creation of the article as it is advised by WP:SIZE, my issue is with the lack of context and scope provided under not having the information put there. Since PL Alvarez has struck up with the same issue with the content being there I went ahead and asked The Rambling Man whether my understanding is correct. Afro (Talk) 22:40, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

Multi sporting events calendars

Hey what is your opinion on the following issue: Should the word "ceremonies" be centralized on calendars, such as the 2010 winter olympics calendar? I am having a dispute and would like to hear you opinion on here [1]. I am for centralizing the word, because ceremonies are not a medal event, and therefore should be centralized and distinguished from medal events. Thank you. Can you give a better explanation on why you reverted my edit instead of "no need"? I think it was a good addition because it gives better specifics. Do you think the layman is going to know there is a differance in distances on the relays? In most cases, no. Specificity is not a bad thing.Philipmj24 (talk) 14:48, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
