- Thanks @Burrobert – yes I read a bunch of these articles and guides already when I first registered. I might have to go back to them though, it's quite a lot to ingest! I didn't know about the tildes, thanks for pointing that out. And I'd missed the sandbox, that will be very handy.
- On the task center, yes I've had a look at the suggestions there but some of the suggested articles felt very far from my expertise. Initially at least, I feel more comfortable editing articles which are in line with my areas of knowledge. I know about think tanks and UK public policy (I used to work in that sector), and also European and Middle Eastern history (through studies and personal interest). So those were the kind of articles I'm looking for. I noticed a few articles already which were out of date, which is actually what prompted me to register.
- Thanks for taking the time, I appreciate it! KTnow (talk) 12:55, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
- In case you missed it, I posted a link to a tutorial on the Chatham House page in response to your enquiry. Hope it helps. Burrobert (talk) 13:00, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
- Perfect – will have a look when I get a mo. Thank you, appreciated. KTnow (talk) 13:41, 6 June 2023 (UTC)

Article created in 2016 and has existed without references since then (aside from social media accounts like FB, Twitter). Article should probably be AFDed. 69.117.172.84 (talk) 01:00, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks. Are you suggesting I should have a look at updating this page? KTnow (talk) 22:11, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
- No. I am thinking it should be AFDed as it has been unsourced since 2016 and the only remotely reliable reflinks I was able to find via Google search were this one and this one but perhaps I missed something. I brought this to your attention as you are on the WikiProject Biography team. Yours. 65.88.88.56 (talk) 23:32, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I'd be happy to have a look at it over the break. One last thing – would you mind spelling out what 'AFded' means? Still learning all the terms! KTnow (talk) 11:30, 18 December 2023 (UTC)

Asthma + Lung UK moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Asthma + Lung UK. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 14:12, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you. I'm still working on it! KTnow (talk) 15:19, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
- Please see WP:THREE and WP:NCORP. It has the notability requirements listed for organizations. Happy editing <3 Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 16:12, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you @Jeraxmoira. I've updated the draft article, I'm done (for today, at least). My starting point was that articles on Asthma UK and the British Lung Foundation already existed, i.e. they had both passed the notability test in the past. This felt like a reasonable indicator that Asthma + Lung UK – which is the product of a merger between these two organisations – would likely be notable enough for a page.
- In addition to this, I feel that the organisation's recent influence of government policy by shaping the parliamentary debate should be enough. Happy to discuss this, however!
- The alternative, though, is either to leave two out-of-date articles (in that these organisations are now both defunct). Or to delete them. I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending to delete Asthma UK in particular, given the influence it has had historically in getting asthma recognised as an issue across society. I'm open to advice though :-) KTnow (talk) 19:00, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
- Notability cannot be inherited WP:INHERITORG. However, in the case of Asthma and Lung UK merging, then I would advise you to make a merge request here WP:PROPMERGE. If you are not familiar with making a merge request, then I would advise you to ask for help at the Wikipedia:Teahouse. Articles about notable companies/organizations will not be deleted even if they become defunct. Based on my assessment, merging the article and adding the latest content to the merged article is the way to go. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 19:38, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Jeraxmoira, I've finally found some time to look into this. I've now performed the merger, with the assistance of a few other editors. I've (hopefully) addressed the issues you had tagged the article with – i.e. I've sourced references from third-party publications where possible, and have made the tone more neutral. (I agree that some of my initial copy did probably sound too 'marketing-y', though this was to justify notability – it's a delicate balance!) Can you take a look at Asthma + Lung UK? And, if you're satisfied that these issues have been addressed, maybe remove the tags? Or happy to discuss if you think it still needs work. KTnow (talk) 12:01, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
