[edit]Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Talk:Nepal, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Algiers, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. WP:INFOBOXIMAGE says: "When adding an image to an infobox, thumbnails should NOT be used." Most infobox documentation also note that the filename must exclude the Image:
or File:
prefix for images. — Archer1234 (talk) 11:52, 11 December 2022 (UTC)
Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Algiers. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. WP:INFOBOXIMAGE says: "When adding an image to an infobox, thumbnails should NOT be used." Most infobox documentation also note that the filename must exclude the Image:
or File:
prefix for images. Archer1234 (talk) 15:21, 11 December 2022 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Algiers. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Archer1234 (talk) 15:22, 11 December 2022 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Netherlands. This also goes for making up flags for various cities and inserting them into articles. Largoplazo (talk) 20:16, 11 December 2022 (UTC)
Image filenames
[edit]Hello @KC626266. I am @Archer1234. I have noticed that in some of your recent edits you are not properly inserting image filenames.
For example, your recent edit to the Flag of Djibouti specified the flag image filename like this:
- | Image2 = [[File:Flag of Djibouti city.png|thumb|]]
when instead it should have been like this:
- | Image2 = Flag of Djibouti city.png
Note how the opening and closing brackets ([[ ]]
) are removed, along with the File:
prefix, and the trailing |thumb|
, leaving just the bare filename. WP:INFOBOXIMAGE says: "When adding an image to an infobox, thumbnails should NOT be used." Most infobox documentation also note that the filename must exclude the Image:
or File:
prefix for images.
Image filenames that are added incorrectly end up being flagged in the system and requires others to come through and fix them. See, for example, the Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images. I wanted to inform you about this so that you could alter your future editing to add image filenames properly. If you have any questions about this, let me know. Thank you. — Archer1234 (talk) 08:47, 11 December 2022 (UTC)
