St. James Football Club moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, St. James Football Club, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. [edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ken Farmer, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Haydn Bunton (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Coreen history
[edit]I know you meant well, but I can assure you that the Coreen competition that folded in 2007 formed in 1930. The competition that formed in 1909 folded after the 1930 season. The two competitions are totally separate. The sources I gave show clearly that the two competitions played and then in 1931 the clubs from the original Coreen competition had to apply to join the Corowa competition. This would not have happened if it was the same competition. Please do not revert this as it is sourced and correct. The league history as noted elsewhere is clearly wrong. Footy Freak7 (talk) 09:28, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
I have now included additional sources. Footy Freak7 (talk) 10:16, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
Dear Footy Freak, In my opinion the Coreen SFA commenced in 1909 and folded after the 1930 season. The Corowa DFA commenced in 1930 and was called the Corowa DFA. So how can you claim that the that the Coreen FL that folded in 2007 commenced in 1930 when it was actually called the Corowa DFA? There were two completely separate football competitions in 1930 and the Corowa DFA was a completely separate competition! It's really disappointing that you think you can remove actual relevant premiership history that was sourced for every year of competition because she have a different opinion, I look forward to your reply! Thanks, Justin Kelly.
- The Corowa DFA changed it's name in 1936 to the Coreen FA. It is the same competition as the one that folded in 2007. The totally separate competition is the one that existed from 1909 to 1930. The "history" I removed is wrong - as shown in the links to the Corowa Free Press on Trove. Footy Freak7 (talk) 01:49, 14 February 2020 (UTC)

Southern Riverina Football Association moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Southern Riverina Football Association, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. New articles generally need at least two (but preferably more) references from reliable sources that are independent of the subject that discuss the subject with significant coverage (trivial mentions do not contribute to notability).(See Rule 42) Information that can't be referenced to reliable sources should be removed from the draft because verifiability is necessary for information added to Wikipedia.
I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of Draft:
before the article title) where you can work on the article with minimal disruption from other users while you improve it.
When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready to be published, you can move it back to the article space yourself. However, I recommend that instead of moving it yourself that you follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template that I have added to the page. This submits the article to be reviewed by experienced editors that specialize in helping new editors write their first articles. — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here)(click me!) 01:45, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Southern Riverina Football Association
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Southern Riverina Football Association requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. PamD 22:01, 28 May 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for your rude message on my talk page. It is rude because it is entirely unjustified.
As the other editor has noted, the page has not been deleted, it has been merged into another page. As you should be aware, Wikipedia has notability standards for articles, and editors are able to nominate pages for deletion if they think they don't. You were welcome to participate in the debate (which is linked at the top of each page while the discussion is ongoing), but you didn't.
For the record, I didn't nominate the page, I commented on the deletion discussion and proposed an alternative, which was merging into the competition that succeeded it. In fact, were it not for my participation the page would have been deleted entirely, because that is the default if no one participates (and no one had until I did). At present there's not enough content to justify having a separate page on a regional football competition that only ran for 11 seasons. I'd suggest sticking to the history of the competition and expanding the article (rather than filling it with tables discussing who the president of a football club was in 1946). Deus et lex (talk) 00:22, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
You should also know that it's inappropriate to revert people's edits when you disagree. Some of the edits were part of incorporating the Second Eighteens page into the other one and that was decided on by a deletion discussion so it's not appropriate for you to just change it back to how you want. Others were to start copyediting the page in a style that is more appropriate to Wikipedia (which the article is currently not). For what it's worth I've added the table back in part, although without the President, Secretary and Treasurer lines which are entirely inappropriate for Wikipedia (see Wikipedia:Listcruft for example). Problem with your custom signature
[edit]You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.
The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.
The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.
- Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
- Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
- Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
- Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
- Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
- Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
- Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
- Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
- Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
More information about custom signatures is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. 19:04, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

Recent edit reversion
[edit]In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.
I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.
I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. S Philbrick(Talk) 13:24, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

Number of sources don't demonstrate notability
[edit]It doesn't matter how many sources you put on an article - especially when it's all derived from one source (Trove). All you have done is proven the award exists. You have NOT proven that the award is notable. You have to find a source - more than one that is - that is NOT found on Trove that states independently and reliably that the award is "prestigious". If you don't - it's not notable. 2001:8003:5022:5E01:B9E6:FD67:C73B:D128 (talk) 01:27, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
- You derived it from one source. Trove is a source. A single source. What's inside it doesn't matter. You need sources outside of it - like it or not. Removing the word prestigious will guarantee the lack of notability and the article will be likely deleted. 2001:8003:5022:5E01:1C18:2FAA:685F:6053 (talk) 04:02, 7 February 2021 (UTC)

This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Invitation to join New pages patrol
[edit]Hello Justin Kelly!
- The New Pages Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles needing review. We could use a few extra hands to help.
- We think that someone with your activity and experience is very likely to meet the guidelines for granting.
- Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time, but it requires a strong understanding of Wikipedia’s CSD policy and notability guidelines.
- Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision, and feel free to post on the project talk page with questions.
- If patrolling new pages is something you'd be willing to help out with, please consider applying here.
Thank you for your consideration. We hope to see you around!
