Sounds like a plan... the best thing is that for the games, we can just take sources from Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2, so it shouldn't be too hard to work on. I was going to get Characters in the Halo series and Flood (Halo) up to GA and FA first, respectively, but I need Ghosts of Onyx for refs. So I'd be happy to go on to the series article. Peasant's Quest Merge

[edit]

Hey there. I'm not angry, just curious; Why was Peasant's Quest article merged with World of Homestar Runner article? It seems like there is enough content to constitute its own page, and is a fairly notable internet game. Was there just a vote I'm not aware of or what? If you could get back to me at my talk page, that'd be great. -AtionSong 15:34, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's not that. I originally had a long topic typed out here, with a lot of stuff that could essensially mean political suicide for this account. But I used the last ounce of strength in me to hold it back. I'll just say this: it's time for a break. — Deckiller 06:21, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Are you sure Vagrant Story passed FA? It doesn't seem to be yet. Kariteh 20:43, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe someone added it to Wikipedia:Featured content too early. It's not yet closed by an admin at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Vagrant Story. Kariteh 21:45, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Judugesurreal. As I said in the GA review, it needs, first and foremost, at least one image. As to referencing, the use of 1 source 10 times isn't that great, and there are still unsourced statements, such as the song at the end of the article (and I'm not sure if it should be there at all, since it may be a copyright violation). Other unsourced statements have been marked by me (I just went through with the {{fact}} tag). - G1ggy Talk/Contribs 05:05, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kingdom Hearts games

[edit]

Regarding getting the Kingdom Hearts series to featured topic, it seems very doable. Right now, my focus is on the first Kingdom Hearts, getting Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories to GA was an unexpected side effect of finding so many articles regarding the whole series. I'll see what I can do on Kingdom Hearts II. Currently, I've been digging everywhere I can to find information on the development of the first one, but information is sparse. Just a few tidbits here and there, aside from copy editing it's practically stood still since it got promoted to GA. I recently got the Kingdom Hearts Series Ultimania α ~Introduction of Kingdom Hearts II~ off of ebay, but I've been too busy to sit down and translate what I think might be useful. If you can offer any ideas on where to get some more development info or if there are some wikipedians that wouldn't mind translating some Japanese, that would be a great help.

Also, on a side note, another project I was working on a while ago, was Victorious Boxers. I plan on adding some in-game citation, doing another copy edit, and seeing if it could pass for GA. Would you mind taking a look at it and leaving any comments you might have on the talk page. Thank you. (Guyinblack25 22:24, 13 June 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Hey again, I was hoping I could get your input on something. The first Kingdom Hearts article. I'm kind of at a loss on what do with it now. The peer review has been silent for a while now, so I'm not sure how to improve it further. Do you think it might be ready for FA? I've also made some edits to the Kingdom Hearts (series) article and I think I can get most of it done this week. I'll have to see how that goes. Looks like that featured topic is getting close, just need to get over this FA hurdle. Anyway, any input would be appreciated, thanks. (Guyinblack25 19:51, 26 June 2007 (UTC))[reply]
Hey again, again.... :-p Anyway, the Characters of Kingdom Hearts just passed GA along with Organization XIII. With all the supplemental articles (Universe of Kingdom Hearts, Music of Kingdom Hearts and List of Kingdom Hearts media) now at GA and FL, the Kingdom Hearts featured topic can be expanded. I was wondering if you know the process to adding articles to a current FT. (Guyinblack25 talk 14:39, 22 October 2007 (UTC))[reply]
Actually, User:Igordebraga nominated it. Either way I'm happy it's finally happening.
I saw that Star Wars article and thought about it too, but I'm not sure what to do because I'm not as knowledgeable about the articles and topic. I may take a shot at it though. Final Fantasy has been nominated for GA and it should pass with minimal trouble; maybe even make it to FA. Perhaps that could be the main article to the topic or at least be added to it. May I ask why you reverted beyond my edit? Its sole purpose was to correct a spelling; a dictionary or Internet search will verify that "arthropodal" and "arthropodan" are acceptable spellings, but "arthropodic" is not. Robin S 21:47, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Distant Dream

[edit]

A "{{prod}}" template has been added to the article Distant Dream, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm not sure about the KH series article. It still feels a bit off, can't quite put my finger on it. I was planning to have another go at after the KH universe article got to GA, but maybe going through the FA nomination process will help get it better organized. I'll think about it. RE:Thoughts

[edit]

Ah ha, yes. That sounds about right, but I'd fear for the life of me were something like that were to be put on my shoulders. Could the task be sub-letted out to a Cruft-Warrior? Are there Cruft-Warriors for hire? I don't want to earn the ire of the community; someone who's already earned that ire would probably be better suited to the task. Geuiwogbil 04:41, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On second thought, I've already earned quite a bit of ire. Screw it. A good quick n' ugly merge would be a good chance for some fun. I don't think that Development information's going to turn up, though, so I'm just going to make brazen redirects to the main The Elder Scrolls page. Can Cruft-Warriors be hired as mercs to bludgeon the realities of WP:N, WP:RS, WP:WAF, WP:FICT and the rest into the heads of those who might prefer the dulcet tones of WP:CIVIL, and WP:CON? I've made a series of violent redirects, and I fear the hounds will soon arrive... Geuiwogbil 04:45, 3 August 2007 (UTC) More at. Geuiwogbil 05:09, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Every "Fiction" article has been redirected. For each, I used the Edit Summary "Insufficient coverage in Reliable Sources independent of the games themselves; no chance for comprehensive coverage. WP:NOT a Game Guide." Further commentary can be found on the Project Talk Page. Thank you for your index. It was quite the help. Ah, that was tiring. Thank you for the suggestion. I'm going to tune out now... Geuiwogbil 07:04, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, hmm. That turned out to be not the best of ideas. Ah well. Geuiwogbil 16:37, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Every edit reverted, because you don't redirect articles to an article "which tells you nothing about it", without concensus, and you don't ruin GA articles by doing that either, I have merged the characters and creatures. The sunder king 13:13, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming Kingdom Hearts (manga)

[edit]

Hey, I was wondering if I could get your input on what would be the best way to go about switching the Kingdom Hearts (manga) article into "List of Kingdom Hearts media". I was planning on switching it in order to expand on the current manga list by adding the games, novels, and albums. More reasons for the switch are on the talk page. Anyway, much of the current content on the manga page, if not all, could be included on the list and I'm not sure how to properly preserve the edit history. Any ideas you might have would be appreciated. Thank you. (Guyinblack25 talk 20:02, 3 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]

I've created a test page of what the media list could look like on my sandbox page, and was hoping to get your input on it. Also I'm not sure whether or not to move the manga article to a media list or create the media list and then redirect the manga article there. Your thoughts would be appreciated on this matter. I'm not sure why you decided to nominate the Knut article for Good Article status. It does not fulfill most of the GA criteria and is in no shape to be promoted in its current state. Do you plan on improving the article within the next few days? If not, it's better to not blindly nominate an article. In the future, consider what it takes to be GA status before nominating another article. María (críticame) 16:17, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mostly because I'm enamored by the little guy, I've decided to take up the slack and attempt to clean up the article for GA status, since its nomination is on hold for now and the reviewer has suggested that it has a fighting chance. If you're interested, and I assume you are since you nominated it, please feel free to pitch in. I'm sorry if I sounded condescending previously; all of the information is available for a great article, but it still needs a lot of work to make it. I personally would not have nominated it, but perhaps you saw something there that I didn't. Or maybe I just needed the kick in the pants. :) María (críticame) 01:44, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Did you wish to collaborate on this article? I don't want to delve into the ugliness of WP:OWN, but since I did write a majority of the article, and have shouldered the issues concerning the GA nomination that you made, it would make sense to discuss things first. For example, I don't agree with referencing the "mentioned on rush limbaugh and steven colbert," since this is trivial compared to other exhaustive international media coverage. It would help if you were a little communicative; this is the third message I've sent you, after all. María (críticame) 23:37, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good. I just finished getting another article up to GA, so I'm relatively clean-plated at the moment. Many of the refs can be pulled from the individual game articles, so there should be little problem there. We also need to tighten up the lead, methinks. Harry Potter

[edit]

Meh, it's going to be a challenge to deal with Harry Potter; it should wait until there are more working examples. The key will be to focus on the barely notable fictional universes; those will be easiest to bring to standard. The problem with Harry Potter is that there are "reliable secondary sources" that contain no real-world content, like the sourcebooks. I'd argue that they are primary sources as they explain things from the perspective of the universe, but that could go on. And that is precicely the reason why WP:FICT says "real-world content", not "secondary sources"; people could dump the entire contents of a sourcebook and claim every topic is notable because it's covered in a secondary source. In that respect, the new WP:FICT is defensive; its goal is to prevent the expansion of the fiction problem while slowly raising the standard to a more academic level consistent with the rest of Wikipedia. — Deckiller 00:20, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just a note

[edit]

Just a note about the Ivo Shandor move and redirect, not that I care about it (god knows I think there is far too much pop culture cruft on Wikipedia) but its generally common courtesy, I would think, to notify an articles main contributors (especially if they are active) if you plan to perform an undiscussed unilateral merger. As I said, I have no quibbles with your move and redirect but someone could take that really badly. IvoShandor 08:10, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. No jokes about WP:COI. : )
Boldness is good, just try to remember that sometimes being bold can piss people off, occasionally that can be headed off by a simple note. That aside, I made a few tweaks and moved the page to 55 Central Park West following a comment about the title that wasn't as smart alecky as the one before. Either way, it could use with some expansion, and if you search the Library of Congress image collections there are some historic images of the building, some may be pubic domain. I can't remember if any of those sources have any more information on the architecture, that, being the building's main notable point, should be expanded. I will look on ProQuest Historical New York Times when I get shot (which may not be before the GA nom is reviewed) and see if I can dig up anything about its history, as I did with The Century (building). In my honest opinion, it may pass GA but I think its kind of an undercooked nomination and could be better, that's why I didn't nominate it myself. The Century is close to GA too, I think it needs a bit more in the architecture area to cover the breadth of coverage criteria for GA. IvoShandor 08:20, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I'm the one heading the FAC for Kirby (Nintendo), although I'm not quite sure what you mean by "start moving on". Could you possibly elaborate? Disaster KirbyTalk 03:29, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh sure, I don't mind if you help out. I did notice the bit mentioning how the Other section is kinda of a waste of space (and I kind of agree), but like you said, some of it could be moved to other parts of the article. I just hadn't moved on it yet. The Relationships section isn't all that important imo, although Species is a semi-important section(?). Kirby in the anime could easily be put in with In anime, manga, and comics under the Appearances section... not too sure what to do with the section about Shadow Kirby though. People feel the need to him for some reason, since he's sort of Kirby's "opposite"... but if you can think of a better way to manage things, feel free to do what you thing looks right. (Although whether I'll agree with it will depend; I know the article isn't my property, but I've gotten it to the point it's at almost by myself, so... yeah. I just have a personal feeling for it, I guess.)
Guh, that was a bit long-winded, but yeah, feel free to help out. Disaster KirbyTalk 04:10, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I just wanted to notify you that I've gone and reworked a number of parts of the article according to comments on the FAC page. It's looking somewhat better than before, but regarding using Kirby's Rainbow Resort as a reference... I can't think of any other source that has such established material for what is being referenced. I know there's the whole "fansite = unreliable" thing on Wikipedia, but really, how often do you read detailed stuff on Kirby anywhere? There may be some Japanese stuff that could be used somewhere, but good luck finding any of that...

Kirby's Rainbow Resort may be a fansite, but I know that practically all of the content is true information. (I don't except a single sentence to convince otherwise, though.) Disaster KirbyTalk 20:51, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As a courtesy, I wanted to let you know that I've recreated this article over the redirect. There's already quite a lot of referenced material and besides, as a birthday gift (see User talk:Clio the Muse) I'm going to try to push it to GA, which means it should get bigger... and better. --Dweller 08:43, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Hammond2345.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Fair use disputed for Image:Image:Gnaagappearance (2).jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Image:Gnaagappearance (2).jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 11:13, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Rush Limbaugh

[edit]

Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know I am glad to be reviewing the article Rush Limbaugh you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 3 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Pursey 16:41, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just a quick note, I've done a quick read of the article and it looks good. But, it'll get put on hold at this point due to a 'citation needed' tag towards the end of the article. I'm not willing to edit this out and I can't find a reference for it at this point. I'll be reviewing this article tomorrow night, so if you could find a reference for this or make the decision to remove the unreferenced statement, it'll save some time :) Pursey 16:49, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Star Trek

[edit]

Apart from having watched the show sporadically I can't say that I know much about Star Trek. I agree that many of the articles concerning it probably don't belong on Wikipedia (For example pretty much everything in the category Star Trek ship terms is sourced exclusively from Memory Alpha which as another Wiki probably shouldn't even be used as a Wikipedia source). At the moment my real (non-Wikipedia) life is kind of crazy so I don't know how much I can do to improve the situation. Is there an appropriate Wikiproject? After several - rather stressful and contentious - AfDs relating to Harry Potter articles (based on notability concerns) I brought up the issue at the Harry Potter Wikiproject and already a consensus has formed to merge around 60 articles with ongoing discussion on others. AfD of HP characters

[edit]

Would you mind stopping? I am putting together a proposal to do a massive merger of these articles, and AfD's that will almost certainly result in keeps or redirects can hinder this. I am drafting the proposal here. You don't have to, of course, but if we could do this in concert it would go better. Thanks. i said 22:51, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. Would you mind showing me where these have taken place? I'd like to review past suggestions, so that I can base my proposal on them. And of course if it doesn't work out I'll take them to AfD to hopefully force it. If it isn't too much trouble, could you make note of pages you AfD next to their entry at User:I/Sandbox/HP_Index? You absolutely dont have to, and I'll just go through your contribs if you dont, but I need to know so I don't make suggestions on pages that have already been merged. Thanks. i said 07:08, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have mostly finished my proposal. I would like your opinion. The proposal is in my sandbox. Thanks. i said 21:14, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you have some time, could you copy-edit the article to correct grammar and awkward-sounding sentences? It would be a shame if the FA nomination fails only because of this. Lone Wolf Wikia you set up

[edit]

How hard or easy was it for you to set this up? Thinking about possibly doing this for the anime series Ranma ½ but I wasn't sure that this was the way that it was done for other series to permit content that may not be permissible on here. I just rediscovered the LW series BTW; had Flight from the Dark and Shadow on the Sand but got rid of them years ago and never had any of the others. Last Friday got the action chart from Project Aon and played the first 5 books at work in like 2 hours or less. =] Didn't die in FftD or SotS IIRC, but had to do a couple playthroughs for the others before finally resolving them. Fun stuff. BrokenSphereMsg me 06:05, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Very nice, enjoy the total republishing of the books and the video game that's coming out next year! The wikia was not hard to set up; I submitted a request, stating how popular Lone Wolf was, how I had written articles on wikipedia about it so I knew what I was doing, and how the series was about to get even more popular, and they approved me and made me the administrator. :) So, make a good case, like that one, and you should have no problem. Good luck! Send me a link when you get it made! :) Judgesurreal777 06:09, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nice of you to ask me for a favour after you deleted my article despite the fact that I offered a compromise you seemed happy with. Still, If you want any JK Rowling quotes, the place to go is Accio Quote. It's a searchable archive on every word JK Rowling has ever said in public. If it's not there, she didn't say it.

I'm through editing Harry Potter articles. Only the crap articles are safe from deletion. You can call JK Rowling an anti-feminist, a Communist or an anarchist, and you'll be OK, but try to help people with her world and you get shot down. It's over. Serendipodous 11:38, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why don't we just delete everything?

[edit]

It's quite obvious that anything dealing with fictional material (unless of course, it's Halo, Star Wars or Warhammer, can't touch anything computer geeks like, it seems) is being ravaged. So what's the point? The Harry Potter article is a mess, no want wants to clean it up, and it's the only article that no one seems to want to kill. So why not just get rid of everything? Reduce Wikipedia's entire Harry Potter domain to a single sentence? Obviously that's about as notable as most people on Wikipedia seem to consider it. Serendipodous 10:50, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What's really annoying the bowel out of me about this, what is causing my teeth to grind unconsciously and my inner George Carlin to froth, is that a lot of these issues could have been resolved pretty easily. It seems all you really wanted was a change of emphasis from an in-universe to an out-of-universe perspective. Well guess what? I edit the Religious debates over the Harry Potter series article. How many citations does it have? 94. Who tracked down and cited every single one of them? I did. How much of it is in-universe? None. Not a scrap. If you wanted out-of-universe sources, I could have found them. I could have loaded these articles with out-of-universe sources til their bandwidth collapsed. I even demonstrated to you my wilingness and ability to do just that. But that wasn't enough. You (and I'm speaking collectively here, as there seems to be something of a Cult of Contra-Cruft on Wikipedia right now, and they seem interested in attacking cruft wherever it is and quite a few places where it isn't) decide that an article is better off deleted than actually fixed, thus ensuring that if I actually decided to redo the articles I would have to start again from scratch. Whereupon I would probably be set on by another member of your Cult, who has decided that because an article is about the use of folkloric creatures in Harry Potter instead of a list of Cantina monsters in Star Wars, (Sorry, A New Hope) it isn't notable enough to be included in Wikipedia. Metroid merger

[edit]

Not so fast...the reason I put them back where they were is because they were notable in the first place. At least, some of them. The Space Pirates are definitely notable, as are all the recurring characters/races with actual information. One-time-only things like the Ing or Luminoth should be deleted, but the others have appeared in 10 games and are clearly notable. Metroid Prime (creature) might be a little less notable, though, and may need to be merged with the main Metroid article. As for the Universe page...that got way too cluttered, and we already have a series page, so it's useless. In case you haven't noticed, the Metroid (series) page describes all the Metroid games. Perhaps a better idea would be to move Metroid (series) to Metroid universe. The actual Metroid series is: Metroid, Metroid II, Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion. Prime is a subseries. -ZXCVBNM 01:57, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, but I'm sure someone can find references for at least some of them. The series started a long while ago.--ZXCVBNM 23:26, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The real problem is: does Metroid merit a universe page? Unlike Halo, it doesn't have any books, only obscure comics. However, Metroid Fusion was called "Metroid 4" as a subtitle, meaning that we have two seperate series going on - the Metroid Prime Trilogy, and the Metroid series - plus the spin-offs, Metroid Prime Hunters and Metroid Prime Pinball. It makes more sense to put them on one page, though, since they use a lot of similar plot devices. What say you?--ZXCVBNM 14:46, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Might as well delete the universe page, and merge all the side articles into the series page, where they can be explained in less detail. Other game-specific species (e.g. Ing, Luminoth, etc) will be redirected to their respective games.--ZXCVBNM 20:02, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. I already merged Ridley (Metroid) with the main article.--ZXCVBNM 21:28, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mario Lead Section

[edit]

You reverted my removal of the paragraph

"Because of the common reference to Mario and his brother Luigi as the "Mario Brothers," certain non-game sources, such as comic books, The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, the Super Mario Bros. film, as well as Nintendo of Europe's Mario Megasite, have suggested that the Mario Brother's full names are "Mario Mario," and "Luigi Mario". Nintendo hasn't ever officially given Mario or Luigi a surname."

from the lead section of Mario, saying that the information wasn't duplicated elsewhere, however the following section contains the paragraph:

"The surname "Mario" (which would make his full name Mario Mario) was first used in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, and then in the 1993 feature film Super Mario Bros. This was meant to explain how both Mario and his brother Luigi could be known as the "Mario brothers". This surname theory has never been employed officially by Nintendo, and it is broadly accepted that Mario and Luigi are collectively called the Mario Bros. simply because Mario is the head-liner of the pair."

Which contains essentially the same information. If there's some specific detail of the first paragraph you want preserved, I'll move it to the section below, but the details of Mario's last name (or lack thereof) don't seem to be appropriate for the already oversized lead section. Metroid Universe

[edit]

That's cool dude!! It's really good to see that the article was listed as one as the most complete lists. But it's a shame it is proposed for deletion. I think that it is better to have one great article with all this stuff than hundreds of little articles out there. Maybe if all of you shorten the information and look for some references, the article might be kept. Lord Opeth 21:50, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to have access to some deleted information

[edit]

Given the lunatic, frenzied devotion to the death-cult of deletion on this site at the moment, I have lost a great deal of information that I would like to reincorporate without having to go to the trouble of re-researching and re-writing it, specifically information on giants and centaurs from Mythical creatures in Harry Potter. I assume that this information should exist in some form somewhere on Wikipedia. I was wondering how I might get at it. Serendipodous 17:06, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's OK, I found the information on an old mirror page. Please understand that I'm not angry at you personally, just infuriated by the current situation. I'm not above deletion; I once faught intensely to have a page deleted which I felt made libellous statements about JK Rowling without proper citation, and it was. Twice. But this wave of deletions currently sweeping Wikipedia is different. There seems to be an aversion to describing fiction at all, unless it happens to be geek fiction like comics or wargaming, both of which have managed to survive with their in-universe "domains" on Wikipedia intact. The issue rises and falls on this vague idea of "notability", which basically means whether or not certain Wikipedians have heard of something. If they haven't, then it's not notable. If they have, then it is. It all becomes annoyingly partial and often leads to inane vindictiveness, such as insisting that Wikipedia's list of asteroids be deleted as irrellevant, or for that matter, the two unsucessful (and highly stressful for yours truly) deletion attempts for Parodies of Harry Potter. Some kind of objective standard needs to emerge from this, because right now it just seems like a free-for-all. Serendipodous 17:31, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

HP

[edit]

Can ask I why you reverted my edits to Harry Potter (character) without explanation? Paul730 22:11, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I wasn't aware that I had. Believe me, my edits were done with the best of intentions. FA fictional character articles such as Jason Voorhees, Jabba the Hutt, and Padmé Amidala, as well as GA fictional character articles like Jack Harkness and Jack Sparrow, all have "Appearances" sections before the "Characterisation" sections. I believe this is to provide context for the out-of-universe info to come, and I was following standard practise. As for my other edits; the "Character development" section is not character development. In order to develop a character, you have to create him/her first, and that section details Harry's creation so should be titled "Concept and creation." "Characterisation" is a more professional and out-of-universe word than "Personality", and the "Fears" section was irrelevant and unsourced. At the very most, it could be mentioned elsewhere in "Characterisation", but does not need its own section. I must admit, I am annoyed by the fact that you seem to have indiscriminately reverted all of my edits without explanation. I would appreciate it if you would explain why, thank you. Paul730 02:21, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Amanoprints.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Amanoprints.jpg.

Thank you.BetacommandBot 09:52, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Copy edit of Characters of Kingdom Hearts

Fair use rationale for Image:AgeofempireskingsDS.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:AgeofempireskingsDS.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. This Barnstar is for the help you've given in the maintenance and progression of the various articles in the Kingdom Hearts Featured Topic. Joseph McCarthy

[edit]

Please don't make contentious edits like this without discussing them on the Talk page. The edit you replaced had two major problems: First, it included an unattributed opinion that, although representative of a minority view, was presented as fact. Second, it included a paragraph of information about Kim Philby et al, that had absolutely nothing relevant to McCarthy. Doing a knee-jerk revert of such a problematic edit for no other reason than that it appeared to promote a pro-McCarthy view is not constructive, and gives the appearance of being deliberately disruptive.

Hey there. I'm not angry, just curious; Why was Peasant's Quest article merged with World of Homestar Runner article?

Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. How does it look to you? Just wondering as I noticed you placed the to do list on their talk page. Does the article still need a lot of work? Stan weller 05:57, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Three paragraphs?? Good Lord. You know how much arguing it took us to get to one paragraph that we could agree on? At least they have a wealth of history. Stan weller 20:42, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Another thought :)

[edit]

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm not sure about the KH series article. It still feels a bit off, can't quite put my finger on it. I was planning to have another go at after the KH universe article got to GA, but maybe going through the FA nomination process will help get it better organized. I'll think about it. Also, I'll contact Deckiller to see if he has any thoughts about the universe article. Thanks for the ideas. (Guyinblack25 talk 19:06, 30 July 2007 (UTC))[reply]

RE:Thoughts

[edit]

Hello again, Judsesurreal77. Would you mind copyediting the Development of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion article? It's currently at FAC opposed by Tony1 for 1a reasons, and I've been asked to ask for outside help. I'd be much obliged if you would do it, but I'd accept it if you weren't willing. Thanks for taking the time to read this message! TTFN. Geuiwogbil 18:58, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you (Guyinblack25 talk 15:29, 6 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Bionicle3.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bionicle3.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:26, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've updated the To Do list with what I think will be the most logical steps to expand the article. María (críticame) 00:38, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How's it going? HOW'S IT GOING?!

[edit]

Well, Return of the Jedi pretty much needs a good copyedit and to have it's references doubled on. That's about it. I haven't been able to work on Wikipedia lately. But I've recently started working on A Beautiful Mind (film) and been able to get back into it. I just need to get myself to work on ROTJ to finish out the series. And yes, I think I will try to work on Star Wars in order keep the featured topic. :) The Filmaker 00:35, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA on hold — Notes left on talk page. Nehrams2020 00:24, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Star Trek

Would you show me where the other one is taking place? i said 21:21, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Metroid

[edit]

Hi, thanks for your message! I would be very glad to help, just one little doubt: I am supposed to merge these...

...into this: Universe of the Metroid series, right? Then, I was just wondering, what are Chozo, Galactic Federation, Zebes, etc.? Can they be all merged into one section? I notice that some of them are organisations and some others are creatures. Lord Opeth 22:03, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Finally, here it is: Universe of the Metroid series. Hope I did it alright. Lord Opeth 23:25, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article Victorious Boxers: Ippo's Road to Glory you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold. It hasn't failed because it's basically a good article, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Victorious Boxers: Ippo's Road to Glory for things needed to be addressed. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Batmantumbler2.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Batmantumbler2.jpg.

You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:36, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

See my comments on Talk:Cultural depictions of spiders. I don't know if I'll have the time to - I really have done my dash on the article. Thanks for uploading Image:Amanoprints.jpg.
