Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Gupta Empire into Draft:Vikramaditya's west Oxus valley campaign. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Extermination of Nagadhatta, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Indian and Bengali. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

The category being added must already exist, and must be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. Please don't add redundant categories. Hello, Jonharojjashi. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Kujūla Kadphises' invasion of Parthia".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

How many times to we have to warn you about copying within Wikipedia without attribution?

[edit]

User:Diannaa has warned you twice. Have you fixed the problems she warned you about? And why are you continuing to do this in User:Jonharojjashi/Huna invasion Northwest India (450s–460s), User:Jonharojjashi/Gupta–Huna Wars and probably others. You seem to be taking Samudragupta and making different articles from it.

How many of the sources that you've copied have you read? I need an answer. At the moment I see no reason why I shouldn't block you from editing. Doug Weller talk 13:53, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Diannaa Gupta–Saka Wars is a version of [1] but I'm not sure if that copied the Wikipedia article as it isn't in the Wayback Machine. Doug Weller talk 13:58, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know what is currently going on with the Gupta–Saka Wars, as per my knowledge, someone asked me to expand it few days ago. But I'm still busy with my own work. Jonharojjashi (talk) 15:24, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Doug Weller: The formatting matches what we would provide; see for example the list of categories and the non-existent templates at the bottom — Diannaa (talk) 19:04, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Diannaa Thanks. Looking again I agree. But I’m still concerned by what seems to being continued copying without attribution. Or have I missed something? Doug Weller talk 19:07, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't normally block for unattributed copying within Wikipedia. I normally warn 3 or 4 times and then start adding the attribution myself. — Diannaa (talk) 19:40, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I have fixed the problems months ago. I even started attributing the page from which I copied the content from. Please understand that from then onwards, I never copied anything without attributing to its parent article. I have not only read those sources but also even read these sources:
  • The Alkhan: A hunnic people in South Asia.
  • History of the Imperial Guptas..
Even after copying from Samudragupta, Skandagupta, Battle of Sondani and etc, my work is still not halfway done, I have to write more content in my sandbox. I'd also humbly apologize if I missed attributing in some of my recent edits, and I can assure you that I will find those edits and attribute it on the talk page of the article. Jonharojjashi (talk) 14:33, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Skandagupta's wars against the Mlecchas

[edit]

Hello Jonharojjashi,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Skandagupta's wars against the Mlecchas for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.

If you don't want Skandagupta's wars against the Mlecchas to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Feedback

[edit]

Hi Jonharojjashi, I had a quick look at First Hunnic War, which you have nominated for Good Article, and in my humble opinion, it requires a lot of work to bring it up to standard. In its current form, I fear it will either be ignored or quick failed. As a suggestion, why not withdraw the nomination and seek the help of a mentor here. Or you could ask for help at one of the relevant Wikiprojects, such as Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history or Wikipedia:WikiProject India. Whatever you decide, good luck to you. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on First Hunnic War requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from see talk page. Notice that you are now subject to an arbitration enforcement topic ban

[edit]

The following topic ban now applies to you:

You have been topic banned indefinitely from all pages and discussions concerning India, Pakistan, and Afghaniston.

You have been sanctioned for serious and persistent copyright violations and creation of many non-viable articles. See the many warnings above and for example this, this, this and your many abandoned drafts.

This topic ban is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/India-Pakistan#Final decision and, if applicable, the contentious topics procedure. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions. Please read WP:TBAN to understand what a topic ban is. If you do not comply with the topic ban, you may be blocked for an extended period to enforce the ban.

If you wish to appeal the ban, please read the appeals process. You are free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. Bishonen | tålk 20:56, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

In light of the above, it would probably be best for you to remove the links currently featured on your userpage. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 18:54, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Bishonen I want to appeal the topic ban, I now know the consequences of making some non-viable articles but I can assure you that I will improve myself, please look into my appeal. Jonharojjashi (talk) 17:48, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Is that your appeal to me? I'm declining it as insufficient, considering all the warnings you have ignored. You may now go on to appeal the ban either to the community at WP:AN, or to uninvolved admins at WP:AE, or to the Arbitration Committee at WP:ARCA. Read Appeals and amendments for more details. My personal recommendation would be for you to edit in other areas, and in other Wikimedia projects than the English Wikipedia, for a few months before appealing, to show that you can edit without copyright violations and other problems. @Bishonen Yes. And I have only got warnings for close paragraphing and copyright infringements in the Draft:Gupta–Hunnic Wars. Most of the warnings were for not attributing the contents copied from parent articles. Please reconsider my appeal. Jonharojjashi (talk) 08:35, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, no. I'm declining it. For how to go on from there, please see my comment above. Bishonen | tålk 09:09, 21 July 2024 (UTC).[reply]

It seems sufficient that this editor (Jonharojjashi) is habitually citing poor sources, misusing better ones in an OR matter, and PoV-forking at will, all to push a viewpoint that is clearly counter-historical and India-promotional.

And that is in addition to the on-wiki (and possibly off-wiki) coordination with sock and meat accounts.
Coming back to the copyright and close paraphrasing issue: can you explain how the garbled "paraphrased" text in the first column of the table by AirshipJungleman29 was generated? Did you write it yourself or did you use some software designed to obfuscate copying?
Either way, and for all the other listed reasons, you should not be editing in a contentious area such as IPA and if these problems persist outside this topic area, a sitewide block would be justified. Abecedare (talk) 12:03, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Abecedare I did not do anything intentionally, habitually and blatantly the ANIs filed by historyofIran merely presented some of the cheerypicked problems regarding meatpuppetry and sockpuppetry. As CaptainEek rightly questioned historyofIran's allegations [2]:

Though I must ask: what exact rule is Jonharojjashi breaking? Merely editing in a controversial area and agreeing with folks is not a crime, even if those folks may themselves be problematic or rule breakers. I've seen the private evidence and I can't say they're smoking guns, and it doesn't look like Jonharojjashi is socking.

They have also seen historyofIran's "screenshot" but it doesn't prove anything.
The texts were indeed closely paraphrased and I agree that I used synonyms to just slightly rearrange the texts but did not use any tool, software or machine. Please reconsider my appeal and give me another chance. Jonharojjashi (talk) 15:30, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Jonharojjashi, I didn't look into the credibility of the off-wiki sock/meat-puppetry allegations and therefore didn't focus on them in the above message. My concern is regarding the content contributions in the IPA area and lack of improvement over the past year despite the feedback. I would recommend that you to edit (carefully!) in non-contentious areas not affected by your topic-ban and show that you can follow wikipedia's content and copyright policies before trying to appeal the current sanction. Cheers. Abecedare (talk) 16:11, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
