Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Whitby. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you.

With Regards to the Berry Banks Cottage Link: www.berrybankscottage.com Sorry I didn't see your message, as I have only just started using Wikipedia and don't really know my way around it. But please read what I have to say and consider this: I feel that the site we have built is very informative, and if you care to look through the site you will find that there is a lot of information about Whitby as a town. The information is presented in a very easy to follow way, and is a useful resource to people when looking into or considering going to Whitby. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonathankrawczuk (talkcontribs) 14:54, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To me the site looks at though it is just advertising for a cottage and other related attractions in the area. As our external links policy states the link should add value to the article. If you see the section "Links normally to be avoided" then I feal that this web site falls on several of these points. If you want further help in using the site then just ask, I have given you copy of welcome message with appropriate links to relevant help pages. Keith D (talk) 15:10, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
May be a more appropriate location for the link would be on wikitravel which is a wiki travel guide. Keith D (talk) 15:23, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
