Class assignment criteria

[edit]

Hi, thank you for your edit! Now I can't help but wonder why have you decided to put C class at Māori phonology? According to the criteria, C class articles 'are missing important content or contains much irrelevant material', do you think that is the case here? — Le Loy 00:18, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I don't know how to edit these templates properly [1], but the article is not a stub anymore. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 20:13, 18 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The rating has been improved.--Johnsoniensis (talk) 20:20, 18 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Translated page templates

[edit]

Hi! Please stop moving the translated page templates outside of the Wikibanner. It is unnecessary and does not affect categorization in any way nor is it any inherent improvement. Please choose to do assessment or writing instead of unconstructive edits of no inherent value. There is nothing wrong with having the template as part of the banner, so please out your attention to more urgent matters than non-issues.--PlanespotterA320 (talk) 23:13, 14 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

English Covenant

[edit]

Ping! English CovenantKaihsu (talk) 17:49, 11 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi I just nominated the above for deletion because the beginnig is identical to the target so as the person types in the their search they will have the target come up as a suggestion long before getting to the rest. Then I saw that you are a very experienced editor so I thought better to ask why you created this redirect as they may be something I have missed. Dom from Paris (talk) 13:12, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Alime Abdenanova

[edit]

Why did you change the rating of Alime Abdenanova from B-class to C-class? I worked very hard on it and since another editor thought it was B-class why did you change it to C-class without a thorough explanation? --PlanespotterA320 (talk) 12:40, 26 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of People from Cornish People category

[edit]

Do you have any consensus for your removal of many people from this category or is it just a bold move? Lyndaship (talk) 12:28, 29 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification request on rating

[edit]

I noticed your edit rating the Deborah Parker article as C-class in three WikiProjects. I intend to improve the article and nominate it for both peer review and Good Article review, so any specific input you are willing to provide about the article is appreciated. For example, is there any particular reason why you classed the article as C rather than B? Do you have any concerns about the article which you believe disqualifies it from B-class criteria? What improvements, if any, do you suggest for the article?

Relatedly, in your edit, you removed {{WikiProject Indigenous peoples of the Americas}}. Why is that? It is my understanding that the latter's scope includes North America, so both it and the more restricted {{WikiProject Indigenous peoples of North America}} are appropriate for indigenous North Americans. If I am mistaken here, or otherwise missing something obvious, please let me know so that I don't repeat it in the future. Thank you for your time. —Nøkkenbuer (talkcontribs) 15:31, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

{{bio}}

[edit]

Hello. Minor thing, when adding the {{bio}} to an article talk page, please also add the parameter "living=yes" or "living=no". This helps with the administration of BLPs. Cheers, --LukeSurl t c 13:36, 13 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Talk page WikiProjects, when classification is blank (class=)

When adding WikiProjects to Talk pages please include the Class=stub or Class=start. Otherwise when Class is left blank, the article is tagged by Bots as "Unassessed". And for some WP there are thousands of articles. Thanks for helping.

"jew wom / wp"

[edit]

What does the edit summary "jew wom / wp" mean? You seem to be using it a lot. For instance: [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]. Thank you, Bus stop (talk) 18:08, 28 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher) @Bus stop: No great mystery. Have a look at the edits concerned - it's the addition of {{WPJW}} ie the Jewish Women Wikiproject banner. PamD 11:17, 5 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Article on Caroline Nicholls

Who is a scientist by WikiProject women scientists' standards?

[edit]

Hi, I noticed you recently removed the "WikiProject Women scientists" tag from the Colette Grinevald talk page (and replaced it with "WikiProject Women writers" and an assessment for that project). Could you explain the rationale for this? I see the talk pages of Julie Beth Lovins and Johanna Moore have the "WikiProject Women scientists;" is this because they are computational linguists? In other words, does the scope of WikiProject Women scientists generally not cover linguists, with some exceptions for certain sub-fields? That is my best guess of what's going on but it's not at all clear from the WikiProject Women scientists page.BlakeALee (talk) 21:36, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Isa Günther has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Cahk (talk) 18:35, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you made a change to the article's Talk page, regarding WikiProject Religion. Did you mean to do so? The article makes no connection between Schary and religion, other than to state that he was "born into a Jewish family".--Quisqualis (talk) 18:51, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Careful!

[edit]

In Scythian Kurgans tombs the ref "Berel mounds will turn into a museum" was not a typo! Berel is a town. Have corrected. Worth checking carefully before making any changes in a reference, to see whether it was a transcribing mistake or a typo in the original publication. And if it had been a typo in the publication, the correct thing would have been to label it with {{sic}}, not change the title of the cited publication. But yes, it looks like a mistake! Take part in a survey

[edit]

Hi Johnsoniensis

We're working to measure the value of Wikipedia in economic terms. We want to ask you some questions about how you value being able to edit Wikipedia.

Our survey should take about 10-15 minutes of your time. We hope that you will enjoy it and find the questions interesting. All answers will be kept strictly confidential and will be anonymized before the aggregate results are published. Regretfully, we can only accept responses from people who live in the US due to restrictions in our grant-based funding.

As a reward for your participation, we will randomly pick 1 out of every 5 participants and give them $25 worth of goods of their choice from the Wikipedia store (e.g. Wikipedia themed t-shirts). Note that we can only reward you if you are based in the US.

ArbCom 2018 election voter message

[edit]

Hello, Johnsoniensis. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Diocese of Aude moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Diocese of Aude, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Talk page updates with "listas" for Biography articles

[edit]

Greetings, For biography articles, it is helpful to add the WP bio line & add the listas as the third value there. Instead of tagging listas onto WP cath. line. For example: Talk:Francesco Convertini. Regards, JoeHebda (talk) 00:35, 6 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

For example, Talk:Serlo (bishop of Sées) there is no need to add "listas" for every WP when "listas" is already present on WP Biography. It's only needed once. JoeHebda (talk) 15:32, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It is easier to copy the whole Biog. banner and then edit it for other WikiProjects; as long as they are identical the extra listas subfields do not affect anything and it is unnecessary to spend time deleting them.--Johnsoniensis (talk) 16:21, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The article Bibliography of the Victoria University of Manchester has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Indiscriminate list of books out with policy per WP:NOT

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. scope_creepTalk 00:59, 16 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for creating Isa Günther.

I have just reviewed the page, as a part of our page curation process and note that:-

@Scope creep:. Thank you for your comments. I think a translation of the German article(s) would be a more efficient way of improving this article than basing a new version of the article on Google results. However I do not know enough German to do this so that needs to wait for another editor.--Johnsoniensis (talk) 17:33, 20 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Johnsoniensis That makes sense. You could try Google Translate and Bing Translate and for the hard stuff, the WP Humanties Reference Desk is available for difficult stuff. scope_creepTalk 18:15, 20 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
