Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Romanz (Singers) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. –

A tag has been placed on Pieter Badenhorst (Singer), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

A tag has been placed on Bobby van Jaarsveld requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Hello John Meadow, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied without attribution. If you want to copy from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. CambridgeBayWeather (talk) 06:12, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:RomanZHouVas.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:RomanZHouVas.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 07:22, 24 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article N Duisend Drome has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NALBUMS

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. License tagging for File:RomansDuD34.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:RomansDuD34.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:05, 25 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:RomansDuD34.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:RomansDuD34.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Replaceable fair use File:Theodore Jantjies97.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Theodore Jantjies97.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 08:01, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:YouCarryMe.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:YouCarryMe.jpg.

The article André Venter singer has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no reliable references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Replaceable fair use File:Raymond Cilliers.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Raymond Cilliers.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

Still Rolling Stones Still moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Still Rolling Stones Still, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. --Ronz (talk) 16:59, 19 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Chart table titles

[edit]

Your statement “All other single pages include this format” is not true. In fact, most don’t have titles at all, the ones that do just say “chart performance for”, and I’ve corrected others that use the incorrect phrasing without being reverted. Thanks. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 21:33, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Cry Pretty (album) Rain on Me (Lady Gaga song) John Meadow (talk) 10:08, 15 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Most infact do have this format however is limited when they do not have a year end chart. John Meadow (talk) 10:12, 15 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Even the examples you give completely disprove your point. I looked up every other Carrie Underwood album and Lada Gaga song and your examples are the only ones with "Weekly chart performance for". Most don't use a table title at all, and I saw uses of "Chart performance for" and "Peak weekly chart performance for" just as often. All I'm saying is that "Weekly chart performance for" is not an accurate statement because it implies its week by week chart performance and not its peak performance. So what I am changing it to, and what you will find on some other articles as well, describe the song or album's peak performance on weekly charts and NOT its weekly chart performance. Those are not synonymous. Thanks. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 16:53, 15 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You've done it again

[edit]

Not only have you failed to leave an edit summary, but you steadfastly refuse to discuss based on the provided documentation. John, I do not appreciate your behaviour. How would you like to address this situation? Will you respect WP:STATUSQUO while we discuss or are you going to be difficult and insist on your own preference? Please explain what part of the content at template:Infobox_album#genre you disagree with or do not understand? The same goes for the note there? Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:49, 8 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Good day
I already explained. Much better articles uses the list format (it seem to only be Christian albums who uses the , format). However since it is so important for you to have a different format (than most other articles). You can revert it. I wont try to fix it again. Thank you! John Meadow (talk) 09:55, 8 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I already explained to you, that's not the guideline. It's not only Christian albums that use the format, it's all articles. It's not that I want a different article, it's that you unilaterally decided to ignore the guideline, did so without discussion or explanation, and only when pressed are you admitting that you could be wrong. You will restore it as I do not want to be blocked for edit warring and it will show that you not only understand the issue, but that you can correctly used edit summaries on all edits. Walter Görlitz (talk) 17:59, 8 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If it makes you happy then I am glad. Wont touch the article again. If it bothers you you can go change it thanks. John Meadow (talk) 20:30, 8 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You're just not letting it go though. Walter Görlitz (talk) 05:28, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Better written articles uses the bullet list. They also only have three items. You seem to be the only person on Wiki to want to implement the , format. Please read better articles to use as examples. John Meadow (talk) 05:33, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
They are not better written, they are larger. I can show you feature articles with comma-separated lists. You seem to be the only person on Wikipedia who refusesa to read or recognize documentation. Walter Görlitz (talk) 05:38, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
For instance: The Allman Brothers Band (album), Astral Weeks, Boz Scaggs (album). So please read the documentation and don't capriciously change the formatting because newer articles show a preference for it. Understand why the change was made and when it should be applied. Thanks. Keep up the good work of creating and maintaining articles. Walter Görlitz (talk) 05:48, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
These are not well written articles. John Meadow (talk) 06:28, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
They are feature articles. If you think that they are not well written, please take them to feature article review. Besides, the documentation is clear. Stop your edit war. Walter Görlitz (talk) 17:35, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
What's more, there are hundreds of feature articles that follow the documentation for the infobox and use commas, just as there are many that have elected to use lists. If they are following the documentation, there is no reason to change it. And again, stop your edit war.
One thing further, it saddens me that you have also gone back on your word. Walter Görlitz (talk) 17:37, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I havent
I haven't touched Look Up Child. You changed No Stranger to your own format. John Meadow (talk) 17:53, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Furthermore you have changed No Stranger to your own format. Even though there is no law that states it needs to be in the comma list. What you showed me is purely an outline not a law. Also why did you delete all the genre's? John Meadow (talk) 17:56, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=No_Stranger_(album)&diff=993567803&oldid=993485314 was just this morning (my time). My mistake. You were concerned about Look Up Child and then No Stranger.
Once your sock block is over, we can discuss the formatting on the article's talk page. I looked at the history and you started it with commas, which is why I keep returning it to that correct version. Walter Görlitz (talk) 18:19, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
My mistake on the article. Again, it's not my format, it's the project's. Walter Görlitz (talk) 18:30, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stay away from me from now on. John Meadow (talk) 21:25, 12 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Livelikemusic reverted your edit for using the comma format. You did not go change it and it also has only three genres. Why do you think it is okay to revert all my edits and no other peoples? John Meadow (talk) 14:05, 26 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Natalie Grant label

[edit]

This edit https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=My_Weapon&curid=64215743&diff=995045139&oldid=994097678 is correct. The editor probably copied an old work. According to https://www.allmusic.com/artist/natalie-grant-mn0000372986/discography she had one release on Curb/Word. Walter Görlitz (talk) 08:28, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Now I see that you restored the second label. I know some are signed to Curb/Word, some to Word/Curb but I think you're right that Grant is signed only to Curb. My album is trapped at the border and can't confirm on my copy. Are you sure? Walter Görlitz (talk) 07:20, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
IN checking sources, three [1], [2], and [3] are all the same press release, but the press release calls her a Curb recording artist, but I trust you if state that the single is on both labels. Walter Görlitz (talk) 07:24, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

According to the radio release it is both Word and Curb. Although according to ITunes the album is only released under Curb John Meadow (talk) 09:12, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Do you know if Praise You In this Storm and No Stranger are singles. I can only find relevant information proving Face to Face is a single. [[Rescue (Lauren Daigle song)

hey christian wikipedian, I made an edit two months ago on this article. Since I saw a wikipedia of another christian song that had the infobox with multiple genres and one of them was CCM (contemporary christian) (listed as the first one), on this article, there was two genres listed, one of them was "contemporary christian", and the second one was "soul". why was the edit reverted on shortening contemporary christian to ccm? Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from For King & Country (band) into For King & Country discography. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Bennv123 (talk) 16:27, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable sources and other issues at Overcomer

[edit]

Hi John. Tunefind.com is not a reliable source. I suspected that was the case when I looked it as it is essentially an open wiki, and WP:RS doesn't allow those. When I checked at WP:RSN, it was discussed twice and both times my suspicion was supported: it's not reliable. Finally, the source only supports its inclusion on the soundtrack, not in the film. Please find a reliable source that supports that it was in the film, ideally one that supports its role in the film. Simply being used as background music or music for a scene is less impressive than it being a plot point in the film. Walter Görlitz (talk) 21:24, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Good day Walter. I watched the film and know it is used in it. Unfortunately I can't find any sources confirming its use in the movie (other than the soundtrack). What do you recommend? Deleting entire line or reliable source for inclusion in Soundtrack? John Meadow (talk) 19:55, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source/license for File:RaymondCilliers.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:RaymondCilliers.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 18:00, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:RaymondCilliers.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://sanotify.com/raymond-cilliers/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Excuse me John, but why won't you let me keep my edits? I mean that song did chart on those charts. Shouldn't we include all the charts the song charted on? Jamgorham (talk) 12:29, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Once a song has charted on the Billboard Hot 100 we no longer use component charts.
This is also indicated in the Wikipedia guidelines.
For example we do not add hot 100, radio 100, digital songs etc...
Similar to the Christian songs.
We do not add streaming and christian digital songs.
This is also a way to prevent lengthy and unnecessary information.
Please look at other articles such as major single releases for Taylor Swift or even Adele. John Meadow (talk) 18:01, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Furthermore, if a song peaked on the Billboard hot 100 whats the point of the digital songs or radio songs. As it is incorporated in the hot 100. John Meadow (talk) 18:06, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The Radio Songs chart deserves a mention no matter what! Jamgorham (talk) 12:44, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well your guidelines stink! Every chart deserves a mention no matter what! If you won't let me keep the Christian airplay charts, then I won't let the other airplay charts stay either! Jamgorham (talk) 12:29, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Jamgorham. I do not appreciate your cyber bullying. You have not read the rules and regulations from Wikipedia's guidlines. Clearly you do not want to learn and keep to the required guidelines. I recommend you read those guidelines set by Wikipedia.
I will not engage in a war with you regarding this matter. The guidlines is clear. John Meadow (talk) 16:51, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
