Added extra details

Hi, Jmcgnh. I have added extra details and citations which add to why this was a controversy. What do you think now about this Draft:Jasleen Kaur harassment controversy?

Amazingcaptain (talk) 11:43, 11 May 2020 (UTC)

Amazingcaptain, yes, you've added details but I don't believe you have established notability for this incident as a controversy. Do any of your sources describe it as a controversy? You're welcome to submit it for review if you disagree.

Also, some of your links in 'See also' should be dropped in favor of wikilinks in the body of the text. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 14:29, 11 May 2020 (UTC)

Jmcgnh, thanks for the inputs. I've dropped some 'See also' links.Amazingcaptain (talk) 19:57, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
Jmcgnh, thinking about the other point you mentioned, how do I prove it is a controversy? Rohtak sisters viral video controversy exists which was along the same lines. There are some news articles (that I haven't yet added in the article) which call this incident a "controversy", is that what should be added in the article? what do you think about it?

Frankly, I don't think either of these incidents rises to the level of notability I would like to see for a Wikipedia article. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 18:54, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
Sorry Amazingcaptain, I failed to ping you in that last respons. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 18:55, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
Hey Jmcgnh, not an issue. Also, I don't get notified when you reply to my comments even though you tagged me in your messages. Any idea why is that? Is there a way I can keep track of places where people reply to my messages? Amazingcaptain (talk) 19:20, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
Amazingcaptain, To get email notifications you need to sign up for them through Preferences. To get a notification at the top of your desktop display, you should not have to do anything extra. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 21:25, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
Oh, okay thanks! Amazingcaptain (talk) 17:57, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Medical claims. Signature Conformity.

Thank you for your comments on my Wikipedia project. WilliamSell/Sandbox I will be reviewing your comments with the author that he needs to avoid giving medical advice or making claims. Not sure what he will decide but I am treating your message seriously.

Also I will review my signature for conformity. Thanks for pointing that out. SocratesChildren 04:46, 19 May 2020 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by WilliamSell (talkcontribs)

@WilliamSell: Wait, what? You are not the author of your contributions to Wikipedia? You're just taking dictation? I see that you've disclosed a connection with Vasudeva, but both you and he should be aware that you're going to be seen as violating Wikipedia policies. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 05:09, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

TeaHouse Proposal Change

Hi Jim,

I am wondering if there can be a hidden comment in the new discussion template users use to open a new question. Something to the effect of <!--Please remember to sign your name by inserting ~~~~ after your message-->. I feel this would be a helpful reminder to the editors posing questions to sign their names.
Thanks! Galendalia CVU Member \ Chat Me Up 07:07, 23 May 2020 (UTC) TeaHouse Host

Galendalia, I'm not so active in the Teahouse these days. In my experience, there is a balance to be struck between too many instructions and too few and that newbies will ignore whatever instructions, however prominently they are displayed, in all too many cases. The signbot still catches most of these instances, right? I'd be inclined against adding such a hidden comment in the edit area because it is also a trap for someone to mess up the comment and hide the whole rest of the page until it gets fixed. It would be safer as an edit notice. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 08:54, 23 May 2020 (UTC)
True I was not looking at it that way, but I agree. Thanks again! Galendalia Talk to me CVU Graduate 16:48, 24 May 2020 (UTC)

Articles for Creation: List of reviewers by subject notice

Hi Jmcgnh/Archives/2020, you are receiving this notice because you are listed as an active Articles for Creation reviewer.

Recently a list of reviewers by area of expertise was created. This notice is being sent out to alert you to the existence of that list, and to encourage you to add your name to it. If you or other reviewers come across articles in the queue where an acceptance/decline hinges on specialist knowledge, this list should serve to facilitate contact with a fellow reviewer.

To end on a positive note, the backlog has dropped below 1,500, so thanks for all of the hard work some of you have been putting into the AfC process!

Sent to all Articles for Creation reviewers as a one-time notice. To opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page. Regards, Sam-2727 (talk)
