Do you think it's too early for me to try RFA again? The main opposwe reason was "too frequent RFAs", but I can address that. My last one was about two months ago, and I think I could pass this time. A few questions
Hi, sorry to bother you, but I have a few questions...
Is the 3-month, 3000 edit thing a hard-fast rule for RfA's? Or is it just recommended?- Is it OK if I give another responsible editor huggle?
- Do you have to manually change the thing on your userpage that says you are online?

Eric Edmeades
Hello. I currently work for Eric Edmeades -- cleaning up online content for his office. I have been away for a few weeks but arrived back to find that you have deleted Wikipedia page for Eric. It seems a notice of pending deletion was posted, no one objected, and now it is gone.
I am not really familiar with Wikipedia policies but when Eric noticed that there was a Wiki page put up he asked me to keep it accurate and clean -- and so I have done for several months.
When an admin note appeared that requested better 'wikification' of the site, I looked it up and followed the instructions. Each time a moderated asked for improvements or changes, I have done what they have asked.
Some months ago someone put a notability challenge on that site and it was contested by someone else before I could respond, and the notice was taken down. (Eric's notability is well established, he is an international speaker with significant followings in South Africa, England, Singapore, New Zealand and the United States. He establishes schools in Tanzania and spends 250+ days of the year speaking to social entrepreneurs around the world. Various 'famous' quotes sites have been quoting him for over a decade.
Can you help me with the grounds on which this page was taken down? I want to get some answers before I speak to Eric. When his Wiki article first appeared he suggested having it taken down because we could not control the content and I convinced him the a fair and impartial collaborative article/resource about him was a good idea. We have now spent quite a lot of effort making sure that the information you had on Eric (wherever it came from) was accurate and fair. The site was never used for sales/promotion but simply impartial information.
Nthabi (at) EricEdmeades.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.146.6.224 (talk) 09:31, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'm sorry - additionally from the fact that the Prod was left uncontested for five days (the reason of deletion), it seems there was a conflict of interest, so if a biography is to be written on him, it would have to be by someone unrelated to him, not working for him or "close" to him in any way. Sorry. jj137 (talk) 20:46, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I am now more confused:
1) Why was the PROD put there in the first place and;
2) Conflict of interest -- I did not write or post the article. I just took it upon myself to make sure that it was accurate and Wikified. When I first saw it it was a badly written collection of 'rumours' about Eric rather than a factual article. As far as I can tell, the article was edited and contributed by a number of different people -- some helpful, others not so much.
You can leave it off if you like -- clearly -- I am just frustrated because (a) I have kept any eye on the site for the last few months to keep the content clear and well presented and (b) I have created links from all our sites to the Wikipage that I will now need to delete.
What has to happen for (a) the article to re-appear or (b) for one to appear that fits within your guidelines. I do not want to find another bad quality version on Wiki again.
Cheers, Nthabi
- I see you didn't actually write it - but WP:COI still includes actively editing the article (obviously you are allowed to clean up inaccuracies though!). The Prod was tagged because notability was not met. For writing an article, see this page. Regards, jj137 (talk) 21:37, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Welcome!
Hi, and welcome to the Dallas Mavericks task force! We are a group of (mainly) Mavericks fans who help to improve coverage related to the Dallas Mavericks on Wikipedia.
Looking for somewhere to start? Here is a few suggestions.
- You can check out topics on the main page.
- You can add
{{WikiProject NBA|Mavericks-task-force=yes}}
to talk pages of Dallas Mavericks-related articles, and assess them as well. - Check out the to do list for the task force, and opt to try and complete some of those tasks.
If you have any comments, suggestions, or would like to talk about the project in general, feel free to leave a message on the talk page.

Secrets of Droon
Recently you nominated my book review of "Into the Land of the Lost" for deletion.
The reasons were: "There is no evidence that the book is notable, and even if it were this is a personal review or original research providing no sources."
That sounds pretty reasonable, so my question is: Are any book reviews proper content for Wikipedia?
For example, "City in the Clouds", also in the "Secrets of Droon" series, remains a valid item in Wikipedia. Is it written differently? Or has it simply not yet been noticed by someone who wants to nominate it for deletion?
I don't login to Wikipedia often, but I'm young and learning and appreciate your guidance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by LoganTummers (talk • contribs) 03:41, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. I did not actually nominate it for deletion (or decide the reasoning); I simply go through all of the old Prodded articles and delete them. Either way, after looking at the deleted article, it was a book review, which we don't have here (we're trying to build a neutral encyclopedia). Regards, jj137 (talk) 21:23, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Done and Done
Thanks for your help with making the online/offline symbol. I was really wondering how to create one. If I have a different question, I'll ask. Oh! Here's one. Would you give me the BoSox Banner if I created 4 articles of 4 red sox baseball players? I already created 2. Their names are Hunter Jones and Justin Masterson (Created by me). I will create Tony Granadillo and Gil Velazquez right now. If it turns blue, that means I just created it. Thanks.--RyRy5 (talk) 23:43, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the BarnStar!
Thanks for my First Barnstar! I will continue my work for the Red Sox WikiProject. I have just finished the last article not created on the Red Sox roster which was Gil Velazquez. Until next year though, when the new rookies come in. Please send me a message anytime you like. Look Below and see that there is an article for all the players of the Red Sox roster. If it takes to much room in your talk page, you can delete it after looking at it. I put it here just so you can see all the atricles of the Red Sox roster. I wanted to personally thank you, JJ, for your support in my recent RfB. I am thankful and appreciative that you feel that I am worthy of the trust the community requires of its bureaucrats, and I hope to continue to behave in a way that maintains your trust in me and my actions. I have heard the community's voice that they require more of a presence at RfA's of prospective bureaucrats, and I will do my best over the near future to demonstrate such a presence and allow the community to see my philosophy and practices in action. I hope I can continue to count on your support when I decide to once again undergo an RfB. a question (sorry to keep pestering you...)
Is it OK if I email you a question and have you email me the answer back? I don't want vandals to be able to see it, as it pertains to the protection scheme I am using on my userpage. I really don't want to semi-protect my userpage, but I do want vandals to have to dig to figure out how to vandalize my page. Thanks. J.delanoygabsadds 01:17, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Admin Coaching/Nomination
I wanted to thank you very much for your assistance in the Admin Coaching program that we began a while back. I have gotten busy with school, along with other various activities that I am involved in.
I also wanted to ask you if you would like to possibly nominate me in the RfA process. We discussed this before, but since it has been a while I wanted to make sure it is still OK with you. --Willy No1lakersfan (Talk - Contribs) 03:35, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- Sure, I'd still like to nominate you if you want. Would you like to go ahead and give that a try? jj137 (talk) 21:25, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- Since I have some spare time, I think that it might not be a bad idea to give it a try. I am hoping that it will be more successful this time, considering that I have learned from the mistakes that I have made in the past. --Willy No1lakersfan (Talk - Contribs) 22:34, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- After reading your nomination, I believe that it should help to get the job done. I have followed the instructions you gave, as well as the instructions on the pages, so that I do not risk having the process closed early due to unconformity. I hope that this all works out well, but will remain humble regardless of the outcome. --Willy No1lakersfan (Talk - Contribs) 03:21, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- It looks as if we have run into some strong opposition, and will not pass this time around. I am thinking that the best that can be done will be that I have to get some more admin coaching, and possibly look for a different coach. I am not saying that your admin coaching program isn't any good, just that I need to seek the opinion on another user before starting again. --Willy No1lakersfan (Talk - Contribs) 20:26, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Re: Huggle
Hi Jj137, earlier this morning (GMT) you reverted a 156.34X IP. His nickname is Libsey (because he's a librarian) and he's a very experienced editor. In that particular edit that you reverted it was clearly not vandalism. As we all know Huggle is a pretty dangerous tool and mistakes can be made. As a matter of courtesy, could you please apologise to this anon? His static IP is at User:156.34.142.110. Thank you. ScarianCall me Pat 10:58, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

My request for bureaucratship
I would, however, like to thank you for taking the time to voice your support, despite concerns cited by the opposition. Although RfA/B isn't really about a person, but more about the community, I was deeply touched and honoured by the outpouring of support and interest in the discussion. I can only hope that you don't feel your opinion was not considered enough - bureaucrats have to give everyone's thoughts weight.
I also hope that the results of this RfB lead to some change in the way we approach RfBs, and some thought about whether long-entrenched standards are a good thing in our growing and increasingly heterogenous community.
I was a little miserable after the results came out, so I'm going to spread the love via dancing hippos. As you do. :)
I remain eager to serve you as an administrator and as an editor. If at any point you see something problematic in my actions, please do not hesitate to call me out. ~ Riana ⁂ 11:42, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
Single Page Application
An article with said name was once here. Now it is gone and most puzzling of it all is that there is no log of the discussion about deleting it that I can find. What happened? The article was oddly controversial yet you will still find numerous oinks pointing to this lost article.
In short, what happened? --19:13, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- What was the name of the article? jj137 (talk) 20:38, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- The name of the article was Single Page Application. I have no idea why it was wiped and even less how it was done without leaving any traces. If possible I'd like to recover the text and continue the article elsewhere, especially as I have and still am developing a number of such applications, none of which require networking. Thanks in advance. --22:32, 10 March 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.164.187.153 (talk)

GA
Ok, I finished the rest. But, check out more GA things the guy put. I really think this is turning more intoa FA review. I can name a lot of FA criteria. And, it looks like the citations have to have every single piece of info. in the citations. (Wasn't that a FA criteria?) .... - Milk's Favorite Cookie 22:51, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
