Infobox timestamps
[edit]Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. Welcome to Wikipedia! I just wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions were not quite right. When updating statistics within the infobox of a footballer, please make sure you update the timestamp at the same time, so that both readers and fellow editors know when the information was last updated.
You can do this by replacing the existing timestamp within the |club-update=
or |pcupdate=
parameter for club stats, or the |nationalteam-update=
or |ntupdate=
parameter for international stats. For articles that use a DMY date format, use five tildes (~~~~~), or for MDY dates, use {{subst:mdytime}}. This will generate the specific time the update was made.
If you have any questions about this, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you, Mattythewhite (talk) 17:52, 7 August 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Jonathan Clauss, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 22:12, 7 August 2022 (UTC)

Updates - Reply
[edit]Good evening, from Portugal,
in reply to your message (please see here, my home IP is dynamic and it beats me why, not doing it to avoid scrutiny https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:2001:8A0:7643:2400:61FD:E350:8F00:CD25), the following (and first of all, i'd like to say i could be a "little" less hot-headed in my summaries, not going to debate that but sincerely apologise instead):
1 - whenever you edit, the box fields get all scrambled and i have to align them again; 2 - also, you mentioned in your message that "your UTC time stamp is false - UTC time is one hour behind the time you update the front-page box". It is not relevant at all – i've been here for 16 years so i know – what is important is that when the reader reads/consults a page, they'll see the date in the infobox and see that those stats are 100% updated.
On the other hand, after editing Pau López you left "20:52, 11 January 2023 (UTC)" as the timestamp. The match was by then still in injury time; it's normal so to speak, we are not expecting goalkeepers to score in games, but in any case, the policy here is to update only when the game has ended per WP:LIVEUPDATES (not sure if it's written like that, if not it's very similar).
All in all, i wish you a pleasant stay here and sorry for any (written) inconvenience on my part. Attentively 2001:8A0:7643:2400:4840:1A11:FB5A:6580 (talk) 03:27, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, no problem at all. I am relatively new to editing and I appreciate corrections by veterans. The issue of scrambling most certainly occurs because I edit from my mobile phone. I will do it from a computer from now on.
- As for the time, I strictly adhere to the principle that updates should not be made as long as the game has not finished (unless it's about a player who has been subbed or sent off). My edit might have taken place seconds after the final whistle but it was still after.
- Thank you for the clarifications.
- Kind regards JarvisLorry1895 (talk) 17:23, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
Football - Benrahma
[edit]Hello,
When updating statistics on the page of a football player, in addition to updating the Infobox, please also update the career statistics table in the main article. I went ahead and made the update for Benrahma. Infobox is for league games only as you may already know. Froglife94 (talk) 01:49, 8 May 2023 (UTC)

Football - Ludogorets
[edit]Please note that no transfers should be done in the manner you did them - player lists are updated only when there is an official confirmation from one of the two sides involved in the transfer, and any changes need to also be updated in the List of transfers, with a credible source quoted. In the case of Despodov, we have rumors, but no clear confirmation from Ludogorets or PAOK that the transfer has been finalized, thus making that change in the manner you made it is a form of article vandalism. Please make changes like this only when there is an official confirmation through a solid source. --Yupyuphello (talk) 04:54, 3 September 2023 (UTC)
- You are right that I should have waited for official confirmation and I take note. Nevertheless, it is excessive to dub my action vandalism when many media had confirmed the transfer. Vandalism would be if I put my name on the team list, not if I act upon unconfirmed news. Jarvis1895 (talk) 06:33, 4 September 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add or change content, as you did at Nemanja Miljanović, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. GiantSnowman 17:34, 28 October 2023 (UTC)

- When you updated James Ward-Prowse, why didn't you change the date in the box?? Jarvis1895 (talk) 16:02, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
- Alright, you actually did Jarvis1895 (talk) 16:04, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
