Heading Levels
I think your bot requires manual oversight on its edits of heading levels. For the likes of #113 and #125 there were minor errors in need of corrections, but the bot elevated several subsections of (h2) sport to equal with it. For edits like #111, H3 for "undated" is totally excessive weight. If there are strict rules about hierarchy (where was consensus established on that?) then a beter solution would be to make the word "undated" plain text. dramatic (talk) 11:38, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

I started looking at enemy aliens but after some research it appears they were all interned on the Isle of Man the IOM article states it's not part of the United Kingdom:

Electric Car
Hey jarry
first i miust say please excuse my spelling i just got a new computer and its keyboard and my fingers are having a disagreement. i anyway the article electric car you suggested FA. that may be a bit far i don't know but i tihnkit is worth going for GA. it has gone throuigh some assessment process before I got my greasy maulers on it and it is not perfect but as you see all the refs are good and ffs what `210 ogf them for what is a slightly long article and should be split but is not fantasticallly lomngh that is not bad.
So, I am asking your advice becau Fse i don';t know how one submits som, ethjiomng to the assessment process or indeed if there are different strands which to submit it to. It is notl perfect but it is pretty good well quoted every measure is converted and appropriately (very hard in this article) lots of sources sure a couple still need to be added but we have what `115 or something and should this go GA or FA?
I should appreciate your advice

BTW another this i created citroen c2evie,augmented golf cartm, and some town in gerogia where it used a lot.., deliberateky I amn not linking them here *(not quite sure why not) but they are easyenoiugh t9o find from that article. i was quiote pleased actually the evie went pon marklet pon 39 a[pril at 8am and it was on wikipedia at 11am fully referenced brief but ref'd. i had pics that were taken down even though tey were sent to me by the director of the company (I have no association with them simply asking them to give me information). So while io was editi8g this which is kinda daddy I made or modified quite a few potrher articles along the way to the same standard i.,e properly referenced, convert, consoistent english, etc. SimonTrew (talk) 21:03, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
Thank you and another bot request
Thank you for the toolserver tool to spot redirected pages tagged with a WP Film project banner! I've cleared it out for now, but would appreciate if the dynamic page remains in order to spot future incorrectly tagged talk pages.
I have a similar request, and would be most grateful if you could set up a similar toolserver tool for the purpose - would it be possible to have a dynamically-updated list of all talk pages which are tagged for both WP Film and WP Biography? The project doesn't cover biographies, but it isn't uncommon for editors not familiar with this to tag filmmakers' talk pages for both projects - unfortunately, though, it's rather hard for us to detect this quickly! Additionally, some articles for fictional characters also are tagged for WP Biography, despite fiction falling outside of their scope.
Many thanks in advance, and if this needs to be filed more formally at BOTREQ, please let me know. Thanks again, Girolamo Savonarola (talk) 02:42, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

- All I can see for each of the films/actors is an introductory paragraph (I even used my iPhone, and the details didn't go beyond that). However, each of the leads are copies of the leads in the articles here which I likely contributed to (maybe not the complete lead). Examples include: Samuel L. Jackson ([1]), Leslie Nielsen ([2]), Evan Almighty ([3]), and Tropic Thunder ([4]). Hopefully that is helpful. The information that I mainly contributed to in these articles is in the main text of the article, but it seems these pages don't go beyond the lead. Let me know if you need further details. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talk • contrib) 18:15, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Jarry
thanks very much for your advice about this article. I have not gone through the review process before so have little knowledge how to do it.
Yeah i fixed alll thge references all 115 of the buggers but you can't put them in where they don't exist. The "woolly" section you mention also have been mentioned on the page's talk for the same reasons i.e. not referenced or opinion.
On the other hand this is truly a good wikipedia article in that many many editors have put into it and made it good, it is all refd every measure has a convert template it reads quite nicely it has some nice pics etc etc etc. I only came to it quite late and did my usual copy editing business but people have worked really hard at it.
that's not to complain at your opinion which i value greatly just to say i think it's great when you get wikipedia working as it should do.
Best wishes SimonTrew (talk) 17:43, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

actually, this feature was eventually implemented, i'm not sure if the main devs ever specifically noted that they added the funtionality, but thanx! -- ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 16:35, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
- oh wait, nm... now i remember what i had wanted. yes that sounds great... another part of that original request which i alluded to, was to also be able to easily SEE the image without having to open the page in a separate browser window - currently the preview and diff views do not offer that functionality. awb currently works great for articles, but is lacking in image maintainance functionality. -- ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 17:21, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Template usage counter
Hey, I wanted to try and use your "Template transclusion tool" on several "highly used" templates to show total the number of places used. How can I use it, such that it simply returns the number? OR would that be horrible overhead, and I should just leave the link and have someone manually update the number once in a while? -- Mjquin_id (talk) 19:49, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Bot
No need to worry, I try to avoid enwiki as much as possible (I strongly dislike what it's become and its unnecesary bureaucracy, another example: the talkback templates). It was a small one-time fix which I ran under my bot account since I had just fixed that on other wiki (and I did so under WP:IAR: it was a small benefitial change so I didn't wait a week of voting before doing it). However thank you for the note. -- m:drini 20:57, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
Hey Jarry, yes, I do work for the museum, as you can tell from my username :-) We wanted to create a page for the place since it is not in existence.
I'm not very knowledgeable with how this works with all the different steps. If regulations require someone to proof it, absolutely! How would I get someone to do that job for me?

material not published
Jarry Quick question- if there are items that have never been published- postcards, diaries, etc.- what's the protocol on using them? Are they off limits because they aren't published? There are many items that tell the museum's story that we use, but they have not been published. I assume they can't be used, since they aren't readily accessible to others.

Curious
Why was [5] triggered? I thought it would not be updated if the count did not go up? Gimmetrow 11:24, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
- The only close prior edit to WP:GA was by my script, which (along with fixing counts) removed 3 delisted GAs and resolved 4 redirects. The total number of links on the page should have decreased by 3. Your script listed the last 2 of the 4 resolved redirects on WP:GA/recent. Any ideas why? Gimmetrow 13:42, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
- Did it again. [6] just updated section counts and one redirect, but [7] listed the renamed article. How does your script determine the count of articles on the page? I was under the impression you grabbed the entire page and counted all the links on the page. Gimmetrow 16:52, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
OTD
Thanks for your help with Wikipedia:OTD, I however disagree with your view, first the criteria for inclusion is how well an article is written and not how important the event is, perhaps you could have written that the article is not written well enough, also the Rand & Co assassination is a landmark event in the context of the struggle for Indian independence. Its perpetrators, who were subsequently caught and hanged, are frequently called as the first martyrs to the cause of Indian independence. India is 20% of the world population, if there is anything epoch making in India, it should find place on the world stage. Thanks again though. I think an administrator should have a wider world perspective. Yogesh Khandke (talk) 08:30, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

- Thanks, I added several. Some might be duplicative of the AWB but better to look for it twice than not at all. You might want to take a look. Some of the euphamisms can get a little sticky doing a direct find and replace depending on how the sentances are worded. I also added the [] thing. Not sure what it does but it was on yours so I added it.--Kumioko (talk) 18:37, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
Do you have anything that turns "_<ref" into "<ref" (but with a space instead of an underbar)? I always add this in my AWB replaces. Also, expressions that put punctuation before the ref instead of after are pretty uncontroversial, I should think. I dream of someday having all of Wikipedia:AutoEd/complete.js available in AWB, although I always figured a ProcessArticle (Tools->Make module) would be a better way of doing complex lists of search-and-replace actions. – Quadell (talk) 17:05, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- Nope, but you can add it yourself. I believe Drilnoth's already uploaded some actually. - Jarry1250 (t, c, rfa) 17:08, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- I recommend that since the fronds app does not track changes that users put their Username or something in the comments box so if someone has questions they can go to them. Or a new column for user or something.--Kumioko (talk) 17:38, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Re: Jarry1250
To put it bluntly, I've got better things to do, offline and on :) I don't oppose for any personal grounds; if the rest of the community thinks you're up for the job, I'm not going to orbit you like a hawk waiting for you to slip up. We don't need those kinds of people. Cheers, --Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 17:54, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
LYNX Photonic Networks - Jhon Elcot
JhonElcot (talk) 19:31, 24 June 2009 (UTC) Hi Jarry
I've noticed you've flagged my article I'm new to this, since it's my first article and it's just the beginning I didn't quite understand your reasons.
Since it is my first page I've tried to use other approved pages as template mainly the Intel template at "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel"
If you'll follow the page you'll notice I'm working on the Market history part still a lot to do.
I agree that posting a companies info on wiki has a potential of being a marketing hoax however this article will deal with the history of the company, difficulties, development, patents etc -- Basically I wanted to stick to what I see on the Intel page if you have objections or suggestions on how to improve this please let me know.
Regards Jhon
JhonElcot (talk) 19:48, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Hi Jarry
Yes, my mistake for copying directly from the company site. If you notice other problems like these please let me know ASAP so I could fix them.
Regards Jhon

Jarry
I've worked at Lynx at 2002-2006 to be honest, the main idea behind the article is to make the company, it's developments and innovations to the telecommunication industry more visible for the "common people" just like Intel is.
It that a problem?

Re:Coat of Arms of Croatia
Yes of course... ok. --DIREKTOR (TALK) 19:19, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- Mr. DIREKTOR should stop adding vaguely sourced materials, then we can talk. I am open to discussion. "The Amblem of the Federal State of Croatia" is not the Coat of arms. I am sure we can all agree on that. In the time of the WWII only the Amblem of the future Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia (then called the Democratic Federal Yugoslavia was made. The "coats of arms" of the constituent people's republics were made in 1945/46 and officialy (constitutionally) sanctioned in 1946/47. -- Imbris (talk) 19:28, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- The issue should be discussed at Talk:Coat of arms of Croatia. -- Imbris (talk) 19:31, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- I suggest you comment on your talk page. I decided that since it covered more than one article and only involved two people, a User talk would be better. You don't have to contribute, should you not wish too. - Jarry1250 [ humourous – discuss ] 19:35, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Thank you/Question
Hey Jarry. Thanks for responding to my request on Talk:Beauty Killer. I do have one question though - in your reply, did you mean to post my written article in this userspace? Because I looked on the WP:SUB page and one of it's disallowed uses is "Writing drafts of major article revisions". Sorry for the confusion. Congratulations on becoming a new admin this week by the way! Dark Horse King (talk) 00:11, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

User name concern
I've left a message for you at User talk:Rms125a@hotmail.com, in case you don't see it. Oh, and congratulations on your acquisition of the buttons - enjoy, but don't expect lots of thanks or too many happy customers... Regards, BencherliteTalk 11:37, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- No problems; I'd seen something somewhere before that there were some "grandfathered" names still about, so that's why I went on the hunt for the details. Regards, --BencherliteTalk 12:20, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
RE: G1/G3
I was hesitant to use G3 since I couldn't find a similar article in the the other-language Wikis, and had planned to use {{notenglish}}. If I remember right I was under the impression that it had been tagged by someone else while I was looking for a similar existing article, so apparently in some kind of confusion I improperly marked it as "gibberish" with Huggle. My apologies. - SoSaysChappy (talk) 14:18, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Congratulations on your RfA passing! Here are some useful links for you:

- I'll third the congratulations, and I'm sorry for not weighing in at the discussion. I don't often contribute there, but I saw you were up for the bit and had wanted to add my two cents in favour — you've been a big help to me and seem to have a healthy dose of clue. My good intentions conflicted with my available time, though, and I never got back to the discussion. You clearly didn't need my !vote, though. Thumbs up! Mlaffs (talk) 16:42, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

API
Hi Jarry,
I'm sorry about this can be a very noob question, I would like to embed my wiki (http://www.design-platform.org) into an other site, so the other sitecould read the html/xml and use it's own css. Like in this site : http://encyclopedie.snyke.com/articles/sciences_cognitives.html (it uses wikipedia).
The question is : can I do it with an API client ? I read documentations but I only found things about editing pages. I'm wondering on how I could do it.
Thanks !

Style guide for foreign blazons
I just want to thank you for your invaluable contributions to the discussion at WT:WikiProject Heraldry and vexillology/Style guide for foreign blazons. Even when consensus seems impossible, it is the contributions of all of us that keeps the discussion moving forward, and as long as we all keep WP:COOL and stay on task, consensus is almost inevitable. Each of us has helped to keep this discussion more collegial than most and yield a high quality result. I have little doubt that whatever style guide we end up with will be a fair-minded, comprehensive guide that will serve our editors (and more importantly, our readers) well. At this point, we each agree on some points and disagree on other points with one another, but we all agree on our interest passion for the topic and our esteem of the history and traditions of heraldry, including the rules of blazonry. I would like to ask each of you to consider the particular relevance of systemic bias on this discussion, since we are crafting a style guide specifically for dealing with interlingual/international sources. In view of the historical and linguistic background of English and French heraldry, I think it may be the most appropriate solution to recommend Anglo-Norman blazons for French, British, Irish, Canadian, American, Australian, New Zealand and South African coat armory (other than French, most of these are likely provided in Anglo-Norman in published sources anyway), while recommending Modern English plaintext translations of other blazons. The point of emphasis is that these should be translations of verifiable blazons, not "sight blazons". If we all agree on that point, that is one more step toward consensus, but if you have any genuine reservations, I would love to hear them. Wilhelm_meis (talk) 11:45, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
