Ernő Gottesmann

Dear Jamesmcardle!

I see the problem and thanks for mentioning it, but fixing it could be a problem. Mainly because most of the films listed on the page were only shown in Hungary, and because of this, they do not have an English title (of course there are exceptions like the The Relative of His Excellency). I can translate them, but I do not know which of them were ever shown for example in England (so it has an official English name) and I might make another name, not matching the official one.

P. S.: If you take a look at for example Hungarian writers Wikipedia page, like Sándor Bródy (writer) you can see that the titles of his works are in Hungarian. That's why I thought that leaving Gottesmann's films in Hungarian should not be a big problem.

Sincerely yours, Halász János (talk) 14:23, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

P. S. #2: I did not write anything which are not in the sources. Halász János (talk) 14:50, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

By saying "brief synopsis" you mean short storylines? Halász János (talk) 06:38, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

I don't want to look stubborn, but I think that a short storyline is only needed if the film was shown in English, otherwise one couldn't understand it. Halász János (talk) 17:44, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi James. I see you've been tagging some articles today. Can you please explain why you think this article reads like an ad? --NeilN talk to me 16:09, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Original Barnstar
No problems! I added that update to in relation to the Skipping Girl Sign as it was my photo that was used by Australia Post for the Pink Poodle sign. Seeing the other two signs has me intrigued to go photograph them now! Sirbargearse (talk) 05:04, 23 September 2015 (UTC)

Church Missionary Society

Please contact me regarding my use of the Adam Matthew paywalled material on the Church Mission Society and the New Zealand Church Mission Society entries and linked pages.

mozza.averill@gmail.com

Could you, or could you get someone else to correct my error. When I created the New Zealand Church Mission Society, I overlooked that the title of the page should be the New Zealand Church Missionary Society. While the parent CMS changed its name to use 'Mission' the NZCMS has continued with the use of 'Missionary".

Refs and things

Having lived in Darl...n in the era, Guy, Robert J, and a few others were family friends, and before the family home was sold, knew the older ones or those who hadnt moved on... The refs added to guy's article are generic and not necessarily specifically identifying Guy. Have been criticised for that in the past, but such prizes and groups do not get caught by trove/liswa system so well. somewhere pippa obriens bios are around, dont have personal copies. We have had a few very notable photographers here in wa (richard and I were on a darlington festival committee at same time one year), but what intrigues me is the number of photographers and artists who are not necessarily individually intrinsically notable (limited trove refs for instance) who in collective sense could be gathered into collective article, like rose's gallery for instance... when in sydney in the 70s, was a room renter in an obscure newtown artists house, keep meaning to write about that if i could only get off wikipedia... Hello there, I noticed that you have nominated the article for GA even though you have not made any edits on it, as far as I can see. I'm just curious and I see that you have been around for quite some time, but are you familiar with what will be asked of you during the GA process? I have touched base with the article a couple of times since I sometimes work on related articles, and I can see that it is far from ready for GA and you need to do a lot of work on it during the process. Having done a couple of GAs myself there are of course things I can help you with, but much of the documentation for the bowls is outside my reach. Still, I wanted to get in touch and see how things were. Cheers, w.carter-Talk 22:25, 24 April 2016 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Girl in White Blouse.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Girl in White Blouse.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 08:05, 9 May 2016 (UTC)

I've reverted https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:WikiProject_Women_in_Red/Meetup/12&diff=prev&oldid=722315297 and the other photographic addition you added to the list, because the images are fair use, and fair use images can only be used in article space. It's not anything to worry about. =) It's good to note new photos of and by the photographers, but only note the free-use ones (and it's probably best to note the photograph separate to the article). =)

Photographs, by the way, are a good way to drive traffic to a new page. For example, Emma Schenson is now linked to from Uppsala Cathedral since her photograph of it is unambiguously useful there, and that helps people find here. Dorothea Lange has a lot of photos that could be used various places, as do Toni Frissell, Carol Highsmith, and Frances Benjamin Johnston, offhand. Spread them around! =) Adam Cuerden (talk) 11:25, 28 May 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Colin Jones (photographer), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Dennis Morris. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Normal lens may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • ' Canadian photographer [[Christopher Moloney]] matches the perspective of scenes from movies (e.g. 'You've Got Mail (1988)' with their real-life, present-day locations.]]In [[photography]] and [

Hi there. W.carter has generously helped with your GA nomination, so perhaps it is in order for you to see what you can help with in the review. I am not sure if you know this, but the nominator is the one who works on the issues that come up during the review, so this review should prepare you for any more in the future if you are not acquainted with this. Cheers, Sainsf (talk · contribs) 10:14, 8 June 2016 (UTC)

You uploaded, File:Demonstration of 'Normal' lens print superimposed on wider angle view of original scene for discussion of Normal lens.jpg, where you either stated that you had permission to upload it or that evidence of such permission would be provided on request. Wikipedia needs the permission to be explicit and proven at the time of upload.

Please read Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission, which advises on how to confirm the permission you obtained from a third party.

It is also advisable to ask the third-party what source attribution they desire, as opposed to marking the image as having been "sent personally".Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:15, 8 June 2016 (UTC)

Please help me with
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Demonstration_of_%27Normal%27_lens_print_superimposed_on_wider_angle_view_of_original_scene_for_discussion_of_Normal_lens.jpg I don't understand what is required. The URL of the image is in the info on the file page. Where else do I need to put it? I have ralso eceived a message in relation to this file upload from user:Sfan00 IMG:

But all appears to me to be in order with copyright for this upload...what do you think user:Sfan00 IMG requires? Thank you for your assistance JamesMcArdle 10:39, 8 June 2016 (UTC)

Wikipedia (and its sister site Commons) requires that Mr. Moloney explicitly release it under CC BY SA 4.0. He hasn't done so in the tweet - for all he and Wikipedia know, he released it for personal, noncommercial use, which is not the license on the image page. You could change it to fair use, which is a harder, or have the artist send an email to WP:OTRS. Rotideypoc41352 (talk) 19:30, 8 June 2016 (UTC)

Hello Jamesmcardle and @Sfan00 IMG: I'm sorry to tell you that the black and white photograph used in the picture is a screenshot of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan from the movie You've Got Mail. That picture is copyrighted so that means the composite picture cannot be uploaded or used here. You need to find another example of this lens comparison with two free pictures for your article .
