Speedy deletion nomination of Jorg Colberg

Your input would be greatly appreciated Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jörg Colberg

APlacerville (talk) 19:49, 4 July 2016 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Jeff Carter (Australian photojournalist) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. apologies As reviewing administrator, I apologize on behalf of Wikipedia for the mistaken warnings you have received while trying in good faith to redirect this copyvio article on Carter to a preexisting properly written Wikipedia article, once you had been told why the copyvio was not acceptable. You deserve commendation, not censure for this. Please feel free to delete the warnings from your talk page.
(While I was at it, I supplemented the articles with a rewrite some of the information from what you had added) .
As for the article on the gallery, the level of importance necessary for such an article is very high--you need to show by direct evidence from 3rd party independent reliable published sources, print or online (but not blogs or press releases) that the gallery itself is considered a notable place of exhibition--a mere list of artists will usually not be sufficient.
Please continue to contribute to Wikipedia. We need people who will have the sense to fix their errors properly and promptly once they are made aware of them!!! Please call on me for any further help you may need DGG (talk) 16:28, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:10, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Jerrems

I see you are interested in expanding the article on Carol Jerrems. Just to let you know that I have added a reference to a current exhibition in which her work is represented. Hope this helps. Whiteghost.ink 23:32, 17 December 2011 (UTC)

Well done, you did a great job bringing the article up to acceptable standard! Now you need to add the persondata (refer to WP:Persondata), an Infobox (see WP:Infobox and WP:BIOG), and generally bring the style and layout of the article into line with Wikipedia norms for biographical articles. It would also be useful to supply ISBN numbers for the books listed in the "Books by or illustrated by" section. Congratulations, keep up the good work! Red Onions

Although I'm not into trad jazz, I'm happy to give you an assist on the article. I was a little concerned that the date you stayed the band was created was 1963 based on your reference however it would appear that they formed in 1960 as you stated an offline reference it was impossible to check. Also some of the info you provided in the discography should be incorporated into the body of the article, will have a look tomorrow at what other improvements can be made.Dan arndt (talk) 13:24, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Photographers, states, categories

Thanks for politely pointing out my error with Category:Photographers from Melbourne - which I've now reverted. Just simple human error on my part. Mitch Ames (talk) 09:12, 9 May 2015 (UTC)

Taylor & Francis

You should have received an email a couple of weeks ago regarding Taylor & Francis - could you please either fill out the linked form or let me know if you didn't get the email? We'd like to get these processed soon, and may pass on unclaimed accounts to waitlisted editors. Nikkimaria (talk) 19:50, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
