Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to Wikipedia. However, please know that editors do not own articles and should respect the work of their fellow contributors on Tall Zira'a. If you create or edit an article, know that others are free to change its content. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to German Protestant Institute of Archaeology. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites (http://www.deiahl.de/en/cooperation_with_the_german_archaeological_institute in this case) or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:German Protestant Institute of Archaeology with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article Talk page. Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at Talk:German Protestant Institute of Archaeology with a link to the details.

Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own words to avoid any copyright infringement. After you do so, you should place a {{hangon}} tag on the article page and leave a note at Talk:German Protestant Institute of Archaeology saying you have done so. An administrator will review the new content before taking action.

It is also important that all Wikipedia articles have an encyclopedic tone and follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you want to edit constructively, take a look at the welcome page. Thank you. DES (talk) 15:55, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The text seems to havbe been taken from multiple sites, also including http://www.deiahl.de/en/about_the_gpia. This is simply not acceptable on Wikipedia. DES (talk) 15:55, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ownership of articles

[edit]

Please do not assume ownership of articles such as German Protestant Institute of Archaeology. If you aren't willing to allow your contributions to be edited extensively or be redistributed by others, please do not submit them. Thank you. Angel Of Sadness T/C 16:06, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You wrote: "I don't want to make any changes because the page - you mentioned above - is the site of my institute - i am authorised to write my article for my institute in Jerusalem!)". Please note that if you are affiliated with the institute, our conflict of interest guideline suggests that you might not be the best person to write about it at all. Please consider this before creating other articles, or trying to write a new article about the institute. In any case, please be aware that no one on Wikipedia owns any article, and that if you contribute an article, you are thereby granting anyone and everyone permission to change that article in any way at all, subject to Wikipedia's general policies. Repeated Copuyright Issues

[edit]

Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to German Protestant Institute of Archaeology. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. I noticed that you recreated this article, apparently in identical format, after it was deleted as a copyright infringement. Please do not continue to add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without a proper release. Persisting in doing so will result in your being blocked from editing. It also won't be effective, as such content is generally found and deleted promptly. Please rewrite any such materials in your own words, using websites and other sources, and properly citing them as sources. Thank you. DES (talk) 16:26, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate images uploaded

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Institutesign.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Institutslogo.jpg. The copy called Image:Institutslogo.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 10:00, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
