Information icon Hello, I'm AntiDionysius. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Terri J. Vaughn have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:03, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I simply added that she has a business partner and I linked the website to their production company. Can you explain how it is inappropriate? JPRMFIRM (talk) 22:07, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We don't, as a rule, include direct external links in the body of Wikipedia articles. If you click on the linking guidelines above you can learn more about link policy. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:10, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am new so is there any guidance that you can offer? The way it reads, my link should be fine. JPRMFIRM (talk) 22:22, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What was your intention behind adding the link? That'll help me give you the best guidance. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:24, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
To confirm that she does have a business partner and to allow readers further look into the company. JPRMFIRM (talk) 22:37, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
On the former reason you're looking for a citation: a little footnote that explains where a given piece of information comes from, and which looks much nicer than a link sitting in the text. There's a guide to formatting citations on Wikipedia here.
The latter reason is probably not enough to warrant the addition of the link. As the external link guideline says:

2. With rare exceptions, external links should not be used in the body of an article. Instead, include appropriate external links in an "External links" section at the end of the article, and in the appropriate location within an infobox, if applicable.

3. Links in the "External links" section should be kept to a minimum.

Basically, someone's side business isn't really vital enough to warrant an external link on Wikipedia. If people want to know about it, they can google it. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:42, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay so why the mention of her business partner taken out? JPRMFIRM (talk) 22:43, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay so why was the mention of her business partner taken out? JPRMFIRM (talk) 22:46, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Because the edit was reverted, and both changes occurred in the same edit. There is a loose policy too of not including the names of non-notable (i.e. those who don't have a Wikipedia page of their own) friends, family and associates of famous people in their Wikipedia pages, but that is a flexible and context-dependent thing. Hi. @AntiDionysius what excatly does this mean?

When I tried to save but I don't see it anymore. However I need help adding the references to the page. Could you help me with that? JPRMFIRM (talk) 15:48, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @AntiDionysius. I need help with my last failed attempt for the wiki page I submitted. Is it possible to hop on a call? JPRMFIRM (talk) 15:46, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
