AVT
Stan if ur serious that AVT is a good idea with Twinkle then I'll install it mate, is it good idea?
- How Stan, I'm having a tiny problem with an article I'm quite passionate about: Terran Federation an unregistered user: 81.233.67.13 and 148.186.4.203 every so often changes a date (well his only done it 3 times). At first I mentioned it in the edit summary, then on the talk page, finally I warned him. It did seem like editing tests at first, but now I'm getting suspicious as it appears he hasn't made any other contributions anywhere else. He hasn't made any attempts of communication, so I'm presuming this will go on.
- I just want to know what I should do? Firstly am I to close to this article to be issuing warnings? if not, do I continue to issue warnings up to last warning, then report to admin or request semi protection of the article?
- Cheers mate, gonna install AVT now, what's popup?
- Ok cheers for the advice Stan, I'll stick with it, till they run out of warnings, then report them to an admin. By the way Stan AVT is MENTAL!!!! I just rolledback and warned 2 vandals in under a minute! It works so well with Twinkle, thanks for the advie I will recommend the combination on Userpage Ryan4314 15:42, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- P.S anyway to hide registered users from the recent changes live feed though?
- O yea, I've just seen that, shame you can't mix the "Recent IP edits" and the bad language filter. Your well connected through wikipedia, perhaps you could send up a request lol Ryan4314 16:16, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- Yea untill they make it so u can just view IP edits on the bad words filter, AVT isn't reaching it's full potential. Ryan4314 16:31, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- LOL yea well also I've realised there should also be a away to toggle off edits to User pages as well talk pages, maybe i will mention it. Ryan4314 16:57, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- O rly? where is it? It makes me proud there's so many ppl watching for vandalism, although I do find myself reverting the anti-vandals efforts when I'm moving 2 slow lol. Ryan4314 17:06, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- Yea I guess the good thing is we all seem like minded, flexible guys. Although he probably shouldn't of warned you, considering he could've seen u was using TW. Ryan4314 17:33, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- By the way I checked the location of those IP's that had vandalised the Terran Federation article, I doubt it's sock puppetry though, as one is from Sweden the other from Nevada! Ryan4314 10:55, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- Goddammit Stan it happened again, and whoever it is, is probably watching my contributions, as I'd recently commented on the subject again with you. Another unknown IP vandalised the article in the same fashion. So I double checked all those IP addresses;
- The 1st time the IP was from Sparks, Nevada, USA (now this IP has made previous edits in the past).
- The 2nd n 3rd times were both from an IP in Skövde, Västergötland in South West Sweden.
- And this recent attack comes from [1] in Grantsville, Utah, USA.
- Now this can't be a coincidence, they all exhibit the same behaviour (e.g not responding to questions etc) so unless it's a jet-setting vandal, we must assume this is meatpuppetry. I shall read up on the policies, But I wanted your advice on what course of action I should take next. Would really appreciate a response, will keep you informed anyhow, cheers. Ryan4314 03:54, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- Only 1 of the IP's has made others edits before, the other 2 haven't (including the Swedish one). But this cannot be a coincidence, the information they're adding is pure fictional nonsense, I know a great deal about the subject matter, and I can confirm I've never read anywhere what it is they're adding. By the way are you still looking to adopt a user? Ryan4314 21:00, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- Well u might as well adopt me, we practically have that sort of relationship as it is. Mind there isn't much form filling to be done is there? We just add a little box to our user pages, and I vouch for you if you RFA ect, right? Ryan4314 22:23, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- I've added the adoption thing to my user page, I'll let you know if I've got any questions though lol. Truth be told I've taken a little wiki-break today, so I'll see about dealing with this sockpuppet 2mora. Ryan4314 02:45, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
(Reset) Aha! look another IP Vandal! This time from Baltimore, USA. We can now conclude this person, however he's doing it, just seems intent on removing the last "0" out of whatever number I put in that sentace! Why? I dunno, but watch this; [2] ;D Ryan4314 09:58, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi j-stan, thanks again for your comments. We thought that our article had to be about mexico, but now that you mention it, we will ask our teacher, maybe we can choose another subjetc. If not, we think that Quintana roo state its a really nice subject due to its beauty. We will let you know our final selection. "Thank you". Blueapple23 16:11, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Blueapple23
The young people
That deletion page is the perfect example of why I left wiki-en. Thanks for the warning anyway. And keep looking: I bet you will have lots of thing to delete, lots and lots! And then you can do good work and if you get lucky you can even be a sysop! muriel@pt 23:01, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- J-stan: you are either very sweet or very sarcastic. I rather believe the first. I left more than one year ago, so don't worry. What annoys me is that that list "was not" indiscriminate. The problem you saw was absence of references. Which is normal, since I compiled the list before the reference policy was enacted. The other thing that annoys me is that the list was deleted by the vote of a dozen "wikipedians", I bet all of them "historically-challenged". Those people were indeed important for the reasons that the list mentioned. Those people were important only when they were young. The fetus created some laughter I saw. The thing is: that particulat fetus, and its gender, was one of the causes of the Hundred Years War. But well, its your wikipedia now: you do whatever you think is correct. Again: the list was not indiscriminate. And if any of you would have thought about it, you would know. muriel@pt 23:41, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- Adenda: Just as I thought most of the chaps who voted for deletion are americans and have minimal content contributions. What else can I say? muriel@pt 00:03, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Dreadstar RfA
J-stan,
Thank you for your participation in my RFA, which closed successfully with 55 supports, 15 oppose, and 1 neutral. No matter if you !voted support, oppose, neutral, I thank you for taking the time to vote in my nomination. I'm a new admin, so if you have any suggestions feel free to let me know. I would like to give a special shout out to Fang Aili, Phaedriel, and Anonymous Dissident, for their co-nominations. Thank you all!
This RFA thanks was inspired by The Random Editor's modification of Phaedriel's RFA thanks.
Thanks for your support, I took the easy way out of thanking everyone by borrowing someone else's thank you card design...but know that I sincerely appreciate your support and confidence in me! And, hey, you're right, I think we did work on something together...but I can't remember what it was. I look forward to our next collaboration...call on me anytime..! Missingno390 adopt
Sure, but I have to do FLVS, so I'm on the Internet a lot but most of it is school and not WP (which I love). In 2007, Wikipedia lay in ruins, and the words on the screen said: "Missingno. was here." 00:56, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Barneca RfA thank you spam
J-stan, thank you for your support during my RfA, and for considering my reply to your initial neutral. In the future, I'll try to continue to participate (though in a pretty limited way) in XfD's in my particular area of interest. If the concerns that were brought up by other editors gave you second thoughts, rest assured that I'll keep all of the comments in mind in the coming months, and will try again later. In the mean time, if you see me doing something stupid, please let me know. See you around. --barneca (talk) 12:46, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
The now-traditional RFA thank-spam
Dear J-stan/Archives/2007,
Thank you for your participation in my RFA, which closed successfully with 83 supports, 1 oppose, and 0 neutrals. No matter if you voted (I mean, "!voted") support or oppose, I thank you for taking the time to drop by. I'm new, remember, so if you have any suggestions feel free to inform me of them, and if I do anything wrong, feel free to add to the permanent chorus of disapproval on my talk page. Special thanks to WaltonOne and Dihydrogen Monoxide for nominating me.

Blogspot.com
Hey Stan, what's the deal with people adding blogspot.com links to articles, Lupin keeps pointing it out to me. What should I do about this edit: [3]?
Also, u know an admin called bibliomaniac15? Ryan4314 23:51, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
- Aw no, that was Nlu, I just dropped Biblio a quick message 2 say thanks 4 blocking some guy, and u can see on my talk page what he replied with. Ryan4314 09:43, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- OIC, so it is all friendly between u two then? I must admit I thought it was sarcasm, lol. --Ryan4314 23:37, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- LOL, check my user page history, look what the Blogspot.com guy did, wow he really caught the wrong end of the stick there lol! --Ryan4314 21:36, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- n look can u see my new little counter now ;) Ryan4314 09:58, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry boss, dont know what u mean by "cite", is it when you see "citation needed" after a word sometimes? Ryan4314 16:15, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
(undent) Problem is I couldn't find a source on the internet that said "it is set 1000 years into the future" other than that it's stated in the book. Also how would referencing it help in regards to fighting vandals? Does referenced information stand out more when it's been changed or something? Ryan4314 16:15, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- hmmm could be tricky tracking a source down, it's really not a big deal in the book, other than that it's far off in the future. I won't lie though, I did try looking for a source back when the vandalism was occuring, but couldn't find one, I haven't really bothered much since then. Besides the vandal seems to have given up, since I did my awesome grammatical twist ;) Ryan4314 16:29, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- O god ur'll give him ideas lol ;) Ryan4314 17:11, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- Ha ha, thanks for fixing the vandalism, lol this guy has got it in for me coz since I removed a Blogspot.com link from some article about Masculism, and now he thinks I'm a "pro-women's rights shithead" (his words, not mine) when all I was doing was a simple bit of wikicleaning. I kinda wanna tell him I'm not a "pro-women's rights shithead" but the fact he's so offended by my edit, combined with that fact he's also a vandal probably means he's some sort of misogynistic prick anyways. So I don't wanna settle the matter with him, as I believe that would be condoning his bad behaviour. Ryan4314 00:07, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
- Hey Hey, check this out! That'll learn him, and I did it the proper way lol Ryan4314 03:47, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
