Wikipedia talk:School and university projects/ITESM Campus Toluca/Borbotonesteam
Welcome to this wonderful encyclopedia, Borbotonesteam! I've been an editor for a while, and I just thought I'd say hi. This is a really great project, and I hope you'll stay! To get you started off on the right foot, I have a few small suggestions of places to check out:
- The Five Pillars of Wikipedia, our most basic guidelines on how to edit and interact with other editors
- The Manual of Style, some quick pointers on the basic quality standards Wikipedia Articles have
- How to edit an article, a great starting read
- Wikilove, the easiest (and most fun) way to make friends on the 'pedia
- The Sandbox, a place to try editing without actually editing an article
- Finally, my favorite, the Ignore All Rules policy (but ignore them within reason, of course)
- Oh yes, and remember to sign your posts on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~)!
If you need any help at all with anything, don't be afraid to ask me. You can either type "{{helpme}}" right onto your talkpage and then ask your question, or you can ask me on my talkpage.

- Hey, no need to shout =P If you want to contact me, just leave me a message by clicking this link, which leaves me a message on my talk page. Cheers, Arky ¡Hablar! 00:25, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Hey guys!
[edit]So glad you want my help! Now, I have a few tips for you to start to think about. Firstly, when you edit Wikipedia, the very first page you should go to is the login screen (located here) and log in. Otherwise, I have no idea who you are, which can be very confusing :)
Now, tip number 2: When you leave a comment on someone else's talk page, make sure to leave a header that says what you're about to say above it to separate it from the rest of the conversations going on. For example, if you wanter to know what the Fieve pillar's of Wikipedia are, you'd write something like this:
== The Five pillars of Wikipedia == What are the five pillars of Wikipedia? ~~~~
Note that the header, "The Five pillars of Wikipedia", is placed with two equal signs (==) on each side, and that the question was signed with four tildes (~~~~). Happy editing, Arky ¡Hablar! 20:38, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
Reminder to Mentors and Students
[edit]Please remember to do all communication concerning work related to the course on this discussion page. It is the only page I can monitor and give students credit for doing their work. Thank you!!! Thelmadatter 13:58, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Suggestion for discussion
[edit]The three contributions that students need to do next partial (~October) is to significantly edit an article, create a stub and translate an article from English Wikipedia for Spanish Wikipedia. Mentors, if you would be so kind as to look over the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Mexico, Wikipedia:WikiProject_Mexico and Category:Mexico_stubs pages to help students discuss and select projects to do in October. For more information, see the Wikipedia:School_and_university_projects/ITESM_Campus_Toluca/Syllabus page. Thank you! Thelmadatter 13:59, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
About Comunication
[edit]Hi!Arky. Sorry the last message was writen in Capital leters but we didn'tknow that doing so means shouting =P. You told us that in order to contact you we should leave the message in your user page. The problem is that the project requests comunication in the team page. Is it ok if we talk through our team page?
See you soon and Grettings from Mexico!!

About Universities
[edit]Hello Arky. I hope you are fine, as you know in our class we have to make some works, in this period we need to investigate about some universities that give us master programs, we need to know about focus, quality, scholarships, etc. so could you recomend us some.
See you.

Fonts
[edit]Can I ask that members not use fancy font sizes and colours for every talk page post they make? It's not necessary and it can mess up the font of all following posts. Thank you. --Geniac 16:01, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Project page
[edit]I am in no way a judge of these things, but I think the project page might be a bit clearer if you removed the duplication of names and just started the page with the "Bornotones Team" section. And, for what it's worth, in addition to WikiProject Mexico, there a huge number of others on the Project Directory, with everything from Wikipedia:WikiProject Superman to Wikipedia:WikiProject Engineering. I'm probably one of the editors most familiar with the huge number of projects out there, so if there are any particulr topics any of you might be interested in, let me know and I can see if there is a relevant group, who might have some formatting suggestions, possible sources, and stuff like that. Glad to have you all here, and I hope that if you ever need any help, let me or someone else know and we'll do what we can. John Carter 00:35, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
TOLUCA’S FOOD AND DRINKS
Mexican food mixes European and native elements. In Toluca the most famous dish is chorizo (a kind of sausage) made of smashed pork meat with chilly and spices (salt, pepper, white wine, almoris, potatoes, vinegar and garlic). Even the word chorizo in Mexico is synonym of “toluqueño”. Chorizo can be prepared with green tomatoes sauce, pumpkin mole, pipian, pork sauce and others spices. In Toluca there are others popular dishes like “tacos of carnitas” (pork cocked meat), or “tacos de plaza” made of barbecue, pork meat, chicharron, papalo, onion, cilantro, nopales, habas, “cueritos”, chili sauce, salt and lemon among others.
Although Toluca is well known because of its meat foods, its population rarely eats meat. The traditional cuisine includes also vegetables from the region such as “quelites”, “quinoniles”, “huazontles”, “espinacas”, “verdolagas”, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes etc.
The traditional drinks include “Garapiñas” and “mosquito”. Garapiñas is a non alcoholic pineapple drink while “Mosquito” is an alcoholic drink obtained from the infusion of fruit in alcohol. Mosquito can be also delighted with sugar, syrup or honey.
