Thanks for nominating Fast Lane (song). I have been working on that article for a while right now. It looks a bit like a stub right now, but then again, there isn't much info on it anyway. Thanks. :) WIKIPEDIAN Penguin (♫♫) 19:30, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Island Monkey. You have new messages at FleetCommand's talk page.
Message added 17:48, 20 June 2011 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.[reply]

A tag has been placed on Kalinga Software Pvt. Ltd., requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under thecriteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to an article talk page, file description page, file talk page, MediaWiki page, MediaWiki talk page, category talk page, portal talk page, template talk page, help talk, user page, user talk or special page from the main/article space.

If you can fix the redirect to point to a mainspace page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the article's talk page directly to give your reasons. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.DASHBot (talk) 12:00, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: User:Ruthsayer

[edit]

Hello Island Monkey. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User:Ruthsayer, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: this seems to me a sufficiently unfocussed attack not to need G10 deletion - target seems to be the whole Wikipedia community. I think it's within the latitude allowed for user pages, but consider MfD if you like. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 16:23, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. While I agree that the article in it's current format is not suitable for the encyclopedia, I do want to clear something up. Conflict of interest is not a reason to deny an article at articles for creation. The conflict of interest policy does not explicitly deny editors with conflicts of interest from contributing and it is, in fact, encouraged that editors wanting to write articles they are affiliated with use the articles for creation process. Anyway, keep up the great work.--v/r - TP16:37, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That was partly not my fault. I use a script to accept and deny AfC's. You should ask the guy who maintains the script and talk about this. Island Monkey talk the talk 16:52, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Will do, thanks.--v/r - TP 17:33, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding "Articles for creation/Tim Ambler" please could you be specific on what you would like me to remove. Thank you. Idea Farm (talk) 11:17, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I did it for you. I removed the first paragraph of the "Key Ideas" section because it was original research. Perhaps my comment was an understatement since the article is largely uncited. I advise you give it a least ten refs and when your done, I may accept it. There's a challenge for you. Island Monkey talk the talk 14:39, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Partners for Democratic Change

[edit]

I noticed you created Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Partners for Democratic Change. You might want to check out Partners for Democratic Change International. It's just as bad. Not sure if it warrants a bundle nom or a separate one. —KuyaBriBriTalk 16:56, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'd Like you to consider withdrawing the nomination for this article. After researching, I was able to wikify, cite, and expand the article. I can't speak for Partners for Democratic Change International, as I haven't researched if it's even a seperate organization, but could you review your nomination of Partners for Democratic Change? Thanks! i kan reed (talk) 16:11, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It wasn't about voting, I was just asking you to take another look at the article and make sure your original reasons for nominating it still stand according to you. i kan reed (talk) 16:17, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
In fact, since you touched up the article, I'll use the AfD as a makeshift reviewing page for now. So in this case, I am not withdrawing the AfD. Island Monkey talk the talk 16:20, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of WP:AN/EW report

[edit]

Hello Island Monkey,

This is an automated friendly notification to inform you that you have been reported for Violation of the Edit warring policy at the Administrators' noticeboard.
If you feel that this report has been made in error, please reply as soon as possible on thenoticeboard. However, before contesting an Edit warring report, please review the respective policies to ensure you are not in violation of them. ~ NekoBot (MeowTalk) 02:22, 29 June 2011 (UTC) (False positive?Report it!)[reply]

Although the IP editor is clearly in the wrong, WP:3RR is a bright-line rule with only a handful of exceptions. Removing WP:NORviolations isn't one of those exceptions. Since the type of reversion you were making isn't one of the listed exceptions, you appear to be in violation of WP:3RR on that page, which has the potential to result in a 24 hour block. (To be clear, I'm not an admin, probably wouldn't block you even if I was, and could be missing something here, I just thought I'd point out that you do actually look to be in violation of 3rr.) Nut Change

I'd check the hieroglyphics if I were you. I think one of civilizations first recorded acts of oral pleasure deserves to be mentioned, as it is part of the legend. Please refrain from Bowdlerizing the facts to suit your own Victorian take on morality. It's a large part of the Isis Legend and cannot be ignored. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.75.184.181 (talk) 07:20, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ha, I can see that. I probably don't want to know how often someone adds penis to these pages. That's amusing, but no it is actually part of the legend that usually gets left out due to historical censorship. Thanks, i'll make sure to provide and edit guide in future.

The IP needs reliable sources for this -- he also is editing Edgar Cayce to make the article say he could genuinely channel.Dougweller (talk) 08:52, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I thought the article was fake, and I don't know how to delete articles. Bonelayer12864 (talk) 14:38, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You thought it was fake? Well, that complicates things then. You may need to open an AfD. The easiest way to do this is to follow the installation instructions on this page and once you're done, click the "xfd" button at the article and put your reason on there. Once that is done, a 7-day discussion will take place to judge the future of the article in question (which I can't remember...LOL). Island Monkey talk the talk 14:43, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Your recent edit to Wikipedia:Editor assistance/Requests added a link to a SEO website. SEO in Wikipedia is a form of spamming, and we should be treating that kind of thing as the near-vandalism it is, not providing new users with "how-to" links! I'm really puzzled as to why you thought this was a good idea. --Orange Mike | Talk 15:29, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know since I didn't make the policy. However, due to copyright issues it generally isn't acceptaple to have YouTube as an external link (see WP:ELNO). Island Monkey talk the talk 07:30, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Giving the reader reference to more information

[edit]

Hi... I understand your actions, since my edits may look like spam, as you claim here. But on closer inspection, my edits[1],[2],[3],[4] are not spamming: Instead I'm simply turning text that's already onto the page into a blue color, which provides interested readers with a reference which provides more information about these historic recordings. I'll spare you the effort of undoing you reverts, by doing it myself. Thanks for the consideration. As;akjf (talk) 10:00, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi Island Monkey! I just thought I'd pop by and ask that you please take more care when reverting edits to user talk pages as you didhere. What you have described in the edit summary as "Blatant trolling" appears to be an attempt by an indefinitely blocked (Pdfpdf himself) user to appeal his block. While this could be considered block evasion, and thus may have warranted removal, it should still have been dealt with more carefully given the complex situation that lead to the block in the first place. Thanks!  -- Lear's Fool 14:08, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's the very meaning of redundant. The game, as it stands, is only out in Japan right now. When it hits Europe, then MAYBE, the character names might be changed. There's no reason to cite them as Japan-exclusive when there isn't even a certainty that they'll be changed. When they're changed, then it will be more sensible to make the edit, as well as reference the original names. Right now, it's just pointless.--68.230.252.5 (talk) 18:11, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding or significantly changing content without citing a reliable source, as you did with this edit to Super 8 (film), is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Connswater Shopping Centre‎. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

In particular, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at anappropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue edit warring, you may beblocked from editing. noq (talk) 18:09, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unnecessary revert in the Devin Townsend discography article

[edit]

The current description says "to be recorded throughout 2009" and the new albums aren't even linked. That is OBVIOUSLY outdated... the change I made was 100% necessary and if there were no sources (which can be provided later), you could just add in citation-needed to some of those sentences yourself. I've been editing Wikipedia for 3 years so I don't need any automated messages. Moreover, the numbers are taken DIRECTLY from the discography charts in the same article, so each of the numbers are already sourced under there. 68.4.43.132 (talk) 08:13, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
